Natalie didn't have much to do today. She had already finished her classes. She was currently in the Salvatore boarding house with Rebekah.

Rebekah wanted her here while she was telling Elena about their human past. She sitting on one of the couches when she hears the door open.

She sees it's Elena. "Hey what's up?"

Elena looks at Natalie then Rebekah. "You invited me over to talk."

"All right, girls. Have at it." 5 girls walk down wearing homecoming dress that Rebekah picked. Natalie looked at them. They were pretty but they didn't fit her.

"Okay, now twirl, please." All of the girls twirl.

"You've compelled your own private runway show?" She looked at Natalie. "And you let her?"

Natalie looked at Elena then back at her phone. "She's her own person. She can do whatever she likes."

"I need an homecoming dress. So what do you think? Pick one."

"I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up Mikael." Elena answers her with sass.

Rebekah vamps speed behind one of the girl and pull her head to the side exposing her neck. Rebekah vampire face comes out. "I said pick one Elena."

"The red one."

"There. That wasn't so hard, was it? Which one do you think Natalie?"

"None really. I think you can do a little bit better."

She nods. "Well then you're going to help me pick a dress."

She turns back to the girls. "Go away. Remember nothing."

The girls turn and leave. She picks her glass and walk toward Elena. "You do not threaten me. You will learn what I allow you to learn. Is that clear?"

Elena nods. Rebekah walks upstairs.

"How fun is this?" Rebekah says snooping around Stefan things.

"We shouldn't be here." Elena says while standing in the doorway.

"Of course we should. Come on. Like you've never wanted to snoop." She holds up a pair of Stefan boxers. "Boxer briefs. Now that's a change from the twenties."

"Are you going to root through his stuff all night, or are you gonna start to tell me your story?" Elena says still leaning on the door.

"Relax a bit Elena. It's her story so she doesn't have to tell you at all." Natalie grabbed one of Stefan journals, 1935 to be exact. She laid across his bed and started reading, while Elena and Rebekah talked.

"What do you want to know?" Rebekah asks

"Well, Elijah said that your father was a landowner in Europe. How did you guys end up here?"

"My parents had just started a family when a plague struck their homeland. They lost a child to it. They wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate." Rebekah explains

"So how did you end up here? This part of the world hadn't even been discovered yet." Elena asks confused

"Well, not in your school books Elena." Natalie comments

"She's right. My mother knew the witch Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy... Blessed by the gifts of speed and strength. That led my family here, where we lived amongst those people." Rebekah tells her while looking at some pieces of papers.

Elena has a look of realization on her face. "The werewolves."

Rebekah looks around the room. "To us, they were just our neighbors. My family lives in peace with them for over 20 years, during which time my family had more children, including me."

"You make it sound so normal." Elena says.

"It was. Once a month, our family retreated to the caves beneath our village. The wolves would howl through the night, and by morning we'd return home." Rebekah eyes start to het watery. "One full moon, Klaus and my youngest brother Henrik snuck out to watch the men turn into beasts. That was forbidden. Henrik payed the price."

She tells them how her mother couldn't save Henrik. "And that was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors. And one of the last moments my family had together as humans."

Rebekah wipes her eyes as Elena phones starts to ring. "You better get that. That'll be Damon checking up on you."

Natalie gets up and hugs Rebekah. She hugs Natalie back.

Rebekah smiles softly. "Thank you."

"Eh don't thank me. Just felt like you needed a hug."

Elena huffs as Damon hangs up on her.

"Did you get your fill of snooping yet? Can we get on with the story?" Elena asks annoyed

Rebekah gets off the bed and walks to his dresser. She picks up a picture frame of Elena and Stefan together. "Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple."

"Why would you? You don't know anything about who he really is."

Rebekah sets the frame down and bends to be level with Elena. "I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire we're a predatory creature. We don't have time to care about humans and their silly little lives."

"Is that why you did that runway show earlier? If you don't care about the homecoming dance?" Elena tells Rebekah

Rebekah leans up as she's still looking at Elena. Natalie was surprised with Elena's confidents right now. Which was probably an act.

"You know what? I'm just gonna go." Elena gets up and starts to leave.

"You haven't even heard half the story."

Natalie sets Stefan diary down. "It's a set up. She only acting confident to get the story out of you. Isn't that right Elena?"

Elena turns around to face Rebekah. "And you're not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around. Find someone else to play with. Maybe you can compel yourself a friend."

Natalie claps as Elena finish. "I'm sorry bekah but I have to say this." She looks at Elena. "You finally sticking up for yourself. I'm a little proud. And she already has a friend so she won't have to compel one.

Elena and Rebekah roll there eyes at her. One in annoyed way the other amused.

Rebekah smiles at her. "The necklace wasn't Stefan's to give."

Elena stops and smiles as Rebekah starts to tell the rest of the story.

"It belonged to the original witch." Rebekah says.

"The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus?" Elena asks

"Not just the hybrid curse. She's the one who turned us into vampires." She speaks of how her father asked Ayana to ask the spirits for help.

"I'm thirsty. Do you want a drink?" She walks past Elena and down the stairs. Natalie and Elena behind her.

"So vampirism was a form of protection?"

Natalie rolled her eyes at that question. "Well duh. Her mother didn't want anymore of her children dying."

"What else could it be?" Rebekah asks

"A curse." Elena states

"My parents only saw a way of keeping her children alive." She explains

"Yea, but why stay? If they were so afraid I'd the werewolves, why not leave?" Elena asks confused

"Pride. My father didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves. Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster. Agility, strength, senses." She then speaks how Ayana did help her mother and that it was in her mother hands.

Elena was very confused. "In her hands? How could she do anything."

"Because my mother was also a witch." Rebekah states.

"What?"

"What's not clicking Elena. The witch of the original family?"

"The original witch." Rebekah says in a duh tone.

Elena has confusion written all over her face.

"Where do they keep their best vintage?"

"But if your mother was a witch, then—"

Rebekah cuts her off. "Am I? No. A witch is nature's servant. A vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other, never both. My mother did this for us. She did not turn."

"How did you turn?" Elena asks

"She called upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal object for immortality. That night, my father offered us wine laced with blood. And then he drive his sword through our hearts." Rebekah explains

"He killed you." Elena realizes

"And he wasn't delicate about it either." She breaks the top of the champagne bottle and throws it into the fire.

She tells them about how her father forced her and Klaus to drink blood to complete the transition.

"We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual. It was euphoric. The feeling of power was indescribable. But the witch Ayana was right about the consequences. The spirits turned on us and nature fought back. For every strength there was a weakness . The sun became our enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks. And then our mother found a solution. There were other problems. Neighbors who had opened their homes to us could not keep us out. Flowers at the base of the white oak burned and prevented compulsion. And the spell decreed that the tree that gave us life could also take it away. So we burned it to the ground."

She tells us how they all watched as the tree burned down. "The darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated... the hunger. Blood had made us reborn, and it was blood that we craved above all else. We could not control it. and with that... the predatory species was born."

"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?" Elena asks

"When Nik made his first human kill, it triggered his werewolf gene. With that, he became my father's greatest shame." She tells Elena

"Yeah. Elijah told me this part of the story. Your mom had an affair with one of the villagers. Klaus wasn't his son."

"She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and then she turned her back on him, but Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half of the village. Then he came home and killed her." Rebekah explains to Elena

Elena looked at Rebekah. "Mikael killed your mother?"

"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched."

Natalie eyes furrowed. That sounded wrong. She thought back on her words. Nik didn't just watched he killed his mother. He lied to Rebekah so he wouldn't lose her as a sister.

"Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say good-bye to my mother." Rebekah goes and tell them how they made the pack Always and Forever.

"Always and forever. Even though he locked you in a coffin for 90 years." Elena says

"We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik... Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family, we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times."

"But you still love him?" Elena asks

"That's her brother Elena! Wouldn't you love Jeremy no matter what? So why are you trying to make her turn against Nik?"

"She's right. Should I spend an eternity alone instead?"

Natalie look at the sadness on Rebekah face. She turns to Elena. "You've heard her story it's time for you to go." She sees that Elena is still standing there. "I said leave, Elena."

"I don't know what you're up to, but I am no longer playing along." Rebekah tells Elena getting angry.

"I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael."

Natalie was getting angry. "She literally just gave you a thousand of them Elena. But you're going to wake him regardless of what she told you. You want him to help you kill her brother and my mate. We are not dumb."

"It's no secret that I want Klaus dead. He has a hold over Stefan's life and over mine." Elena tells them

Natalie scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Yeah because everything is about you. He hasn't been bothering you since."

"So do what you need. Wake Mikael at your own peril. But make no mistake. If you come after my brother, I will rip you apart. And I get my temper from my father." Rebekah tells her.

"Wait before you go. I just want you to think Elena. Mikael is a vampire hunter, what makes you think that after he "kills" Klaus he won't go after Stefan and Damon? I just want you to think on that. You can go now."

Elena left thinking over what Natalie said.

"I'm sorry you had to relive the memories of your brother." Natalie tells Rebekah

"It's okay."

Rebekah was fixing her and Natalie a drink when the doors open.

"I thought we told you to leave twice."

"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?"

Natalie turned so fast she could have got whiplash. She gave Elena a warning look telling her not to continue. She wanted Klaus to tell Rebekah himself.

"Nik was there. He told me." Rebekah says

Elena sighed before talking. "He lied to you."

"And How do you know that?"

"The cave where you carved your family's names is covered in symbols, the story of your family— how your parents arrived, how they made peace, the spell that turn them into vampires, and this. This is the symbol for hybrid. It's the combination of the werewolf and the vampire symbol. And this the one for your mother." She shows Rebekah the pictures as she explains.

"Her necklace." Rebekah realizes

"And this is the story of her death. The hybrid killed the original witch. Not Mikael, Klaus." Elena says pointing at the pictures

"No. No, he wouldn't." Rebekah denies

"She put the curse on him, made it so that he would be the only one of his kind, and then she rejected him. With the werewolf gene comes aggression and violence. When he turned all of that was heightened. He killed her, Rebekah. And then he made up this entire lie about your father so that he wouldn't lose you." Elena explains to Rebekah.

Natalie stormed over to them and took the pictures. She threw them into the fire and turned to Elena. "I'm not taking up for his actions but he loves her even if he doesn't show it right. You come over here trying to get her to turn against her own brother for your own selfish needs. You can forget it because it won't happen. I'm not angry because I don't like his mother but you will best believe that I will let Rebekah get her revenge on her brother. But you will NOT come here trying to make her kill her own brother. Now leave!"

"She's right. These mean nothing. They're just stupid drawing by people who know nothing of my family."

"Then why are you so upset?" Elena asks

Rebekah eyes get watery. "Why are doing this to me? I've done nothing to you"

"Klaus killed your mother. He has a hold on you, on me, Natalie, on everyone. He has for a thousand years. We have to make it stop." Elena says raising on her voice.

"Shut up! Just shut up! Don't talk anymore! Nothing!" She yells as her veins start to come around her eyes.

Rebekah falls to the ground slowly while crying. Natalie runs to her and hugs her putting Rebekah head to her chest.

She glared at elena. "Leave now! You've done enough."

She sees Elena doesn't move. She raises her hand and uses her magic and forces Elena out and shutting the door and locking it.

"I'm so sorry about her and Klaus killing your mother. You can do whatever you need to Klaus. I'll take the pain just please don't go against your brother. He loves you and didn't want to lose you."

Rebekah nods as she stays in Natalie arms.

"Come one let's go to your bedroom I'll stay over."

They both get up and head to the guest room Rebekah is staying in. She gives clothes to Natalie to change into.

They both change.

"I'm gonna call Nik. So we can make a plan."

She nods. Natalie grabs her phone and dials Klaus number. He picks up after the 4th ring.

"Hello love. Why are you calling so late."

"We need to talk. It's nothing bad."

"Okay. What is it then?" Klaus asks

"They woke Mikael. They have a plan to kill you so be careful."

Rebekah takes the phone from Natalie. "I'm going to kill you, you bloody wanker. How could you kill mother and not tell me. You made me believe Mikael killed her."

Klaus exhales as he hears this news. "I'm sorry. I didn't want to lose you okay. I had to make up a lie. If you knew I know you were going to leave me. Mother angered me when she suppressed my werewolf side. I'll make it up to you when I get back."

"Don't expect me to not try and inflict pain on you . And yes I know it'll harm Natalie but she's letting me."

"Okay. Now back to Mikael."

"I'll let them believe we're on their side and I'll tell you what their planning. It'll look suspicious if Natalie suddenly switched sides. Rebekah explains

"Okay. Keep me updated. I'm sorry Rebekah. Just know I do love you."

"I love you too Nik." She gives the phone back to Natalie.

"I'll speak to you tomorrow Natalie."

"Bye Nik." She hangs up and turns to Rebekah. "Let's sleep. Today was exhausting."

She nods. They both climb into the bed. They talk for a little before falling asleep.

I kind of like this chapter. I can't wait to get bring in the siblings love interest. Obviously their going to be vampires that they met.

I think I'll bring them when the Mikaelson ball happens. Well not for Finn. But for Elijah, Rebekah, and Kol I think I will I don't know yet. I'm having trouble with this 🥲!
