I cross my arms and look out the window. I was quite angry when I found out Klaus let a newbie vampire out on the loose. Not to forget to mention that he just turned more and now they're laying dead on the tables. It was too late to stop him from transitioning these humans.

"I was beginning to worry you boys wouldn't find the place." I hear Klaus' voice as Matt, Jeremy, and Damon walk inside.

"What the hell...?" Jeremy looks around the room. "Did you kill all these people?" Matt asks and Klaus shakes his head, "Not exactly. They're in transition." He turns to Jeremy, "Killing them is your job."

"You said you were going to convince Klaus to do this another way!" Jeremy looks at Damon. "Well, I thought about it, and then I realized his idea was better." Damon responds with a glare.

"How could you let this happen, Maya?!" Jeremy yells at me and I turn my head away from the window. "Don't blame your sister. Actually, she's not quite fond of the plan." Klaus answers for me and I roll my eyes.

"Well, then maybe you should listen to her." Jeremy snaps and Damon stops him, "Stop, you don't want to anger the hybrid. Just stick with the plan."

"No way. I'm not doing this." Jeremy shakes his hand and I walk over to them. "What makes you think you have a choice?" Klaus asks him.

"You have to kill vampires to complete the hunter's mark. Mark equals cure. You're in a bar full of almost vampires, so get your hunt on." Damon tells him.

"Screw you. You said I wouldn't have to kill any innocent people." Jeremy looks at Damon, who breathes in. "Jeremy, they're not people."

"Enough! Have at it, or else." Klaus steps forward. "I don't take orders from you, dick." Jeremy drops a stake. "Hunters can't be compelled."

Klaus laughs and walks up to Jeremy, "You're right. I can't compel you. But if your conscience is getting in the way, then allow me to make this easy for you. Because, I can compel them."

I shiver and look around the room. The vampires are in transition and a few compelled humans are feeding them their blood.

"I'm gonna give you a two-minute head start. Then I'm gonna send every vampire in here after you. You kill them, or they kill your friend...Matt."

"Wait a second!" Matt yells and I look at Klaus. "Stop don't do this." He ignored me and I exhale a sharp breathe. I had a reason to be mad at him and now he's being stubborn.

"No, no. You turn them, he kills them. That was the deal, Klaus." Damon states and Klaus puts on his infamous smirk. "I'm taking artistic license."

"You know he can't take them all on at the same time." Damon says and I nod, finally looking at Klaus. "With you as his coach, he'll be fine. It's Matt I'm worried about." Klaus responds while raising his eyebrows.

"Ah...Jeremy, go get the weapons out of the car. I'll be right behind you." Jeremy runs out of the bar. "Both of you." Damon tells Matt, who soon follows.

Klaus shouts after both Jeremy and Matt. "If I hear an engine start, I'll kill Matt myself!"

"Where do you think you are going?" Klaus stops me with his hand. "To help my brother, let go of me."

"Maya, you can't be that mad at me." He lets go of me. I turn to face him, "Yes I can and I will. He's not ready and now I have to go help him."

"No, I will not let you. I can't risk you getting hurt." he tells me and I scoff, "I can protect myself and I don't take orders from you." I tell him and I begin to grow frustrated. Eventually, I walk out of the building with Klaus calling my name in the background.

"Are you okay?" Jeremy hands Matt a napkin to hold his bleeding neck. He got bitten by one of the vampires and it was hard to find them in the woods. "Yeah, I just need a second."

"We don't have a second, Matt. They can smell your blood and we need to start hunting again." I tell him and hear something behind me. I quickly turn around and hold out my bow, but it was just Damon and he deflects my bow quickly before I could shoot.

"Easy there. It's just me." he says and I roll my eyes, lowering my bow.

"You set us up." Jeremy steps up from the ground. "I was trying to get this thing over with. You're the one that pissed off Klaus. Now you have to fight your way out of it." Damon responds with a nod.

"All right, where are the other vampires?" Matt asks Damon and gets up from the ground, holding the napkin to his neck. "They're newbies. They're still trying to figure out how to track, which means you have two seconds to get ready to fight."

Jeremy turns to Matt, "The lake house is this way. If we can get there, they won't be able to get inside." Damon stops them from running. "Wait, you want to run?"

"They're going to kill Matt." Jeremy looks at the both of us. I hesitantly nod, "Go quickly. Damon and I will slow them down."

"I can slow them down myself. You go with them." he tells me and I shake my head. "I'm a huntress, Damon. I know what to do."

Jeremy and Matt start running towards the Lake House and soon enough they run until I can't see them.

"Okay, so we–" I stop in mid-sentence when a vampire charges in front of me and before I could do anything, it falls to the ground. I exhale a breath when I see Damon holding the vampire's heart with his bloody hand. "You're welcome."

I thank him and we begin to stalk around the woods. "I can barely see. It's so dark." I whisper to him and he stops me, putting his finger up to his lips.

I hear a ruffle behind me and I put my bow in position and shoot the vampire that was near us. It falls to the ground with an arrow stuck in his body. I quickly run over to him and stab him with a wooden stake and grey veins overpowering his body.

"Nice shot." Damon says from behind me. I get up and turn to face him. "Do you hear any more vampires around?"

"Not right now. I think it's best if we head out to the Lake House." Damon tells me and I shrug, "I guess."

He walks side by side to me as we walk through the woods. "So, what's the deal with you and Klaus?" he asks me. "What about us?"

"I noticed you are never in your house." he tells me and I furrow my eyebrows and shrug, "It doesn't feel like home anymore."

"Is there something going on between you two?" he asks as he pushes a branch that was sticking out of a tree away from his face. "Why do you care?" I question, getting annoyed.

"I'm just asking a question." He puts his hands up in surrender. "To answer your question, yes." I simply reply and walk ahead of him before he could ask anymore questions.

§

"Do you really think they went back to the bar?" my brother asks as we got out of the car. It was now morning and we decided to go back to the bar where the vampires were turned.

Damon opens the trunk, "Where else are they gonna go? It's all cabins and vacation homes; they can't get in anywhere."

Damon hands Jeremy a gun. Jeremy puts it behind his back as Damon hands him the compound bow. "All right. There you go."

"Fine. Let's get this over with." Jeremy says as he pulls back the compound bow. "Remember, one at a time, and only shoot for the heart. Don't hesitate, and don't miss." I instruct Jeremy and he nods as I hand him an arrow.

"Come on." Damon hands him more arrows before closing the trunk and leading us inside the bar. I step in the place cautiously and spot a giant blood smear on the ground. "Something's not right."

I walk ahead both boys and follow the trail of blood into the back cold storage room. I bit the insides of my cheeks when I find a big pile of the vampire corpses in the corner.

"Looks like we're gonna have to find some new vampires. What a waste." Damon scoffs and I cross my arms. "What the hell happened?"

"I confess." I turn around at the sound of a different voice. Jeremy turns around and holds the bow up as Kol enters the room. "I did it."

"Kol?"

"Jeremy, good to see you, mate. Sorry about the mess. Ugh, it was a little crowded when I arrived, and I prefer more intimate gatherings. We four need to have a little chat." Kol takes a sip of bourbon from the bottle. "Care for a drink?"

"He's underage, she doesn't drink, and I don't like you, so let's just cut to it." Damon points to us and Kol shrugs, "You know, my brother bragged about his plan to complete Jeremy's hunter's mark. It was easy enough to track this lot down. They were all hiding in the shadows. Now, killing young vampires is easy or old ones, for that matter."

"Why? What's it to you either way?" he asks. "Because, you fools, in your zeal to find the cure, you risk waking someone very dangerous."

"Who?" I step up and Kol turn his head to me. "Ah, Nik hasn't shared this to you? Not a surprise he wants to keep his precious human girl alive."

I send him a glare and Damon speaks up, "Oh...You must be talking about Silas." Kol nods. "What do you know of him?"

"Nothing. Don't want to. Not our problem." Damon responds and Kol steps forward. "Isn't it?" he chuckles. "Uh-huh."

"A few hundred years back, I came across a group that worshipped Silas. His followers told me that he would rise again, and when he did, he would trigger the end of all time. You know, being an immortal, you can see why I'm opposed to time's ending. So I murdered all of them. And now, here you are willing to risk raising him in your search for the cure. I can't exactly sit back and let that happen, can I?"

"We're not going to back off the cure 'cause you were told one too many scary bedtime stories, you idiot." Damon tells him. Kol pushes Damon, "Jeremy, we were mates in Colorado. You're a smart lad. Why don't you call off this imbecilic treasure hunt?"

Jeremy holds up his bow, "I'm not calling anything off, mate."

Kol takes a step backwards. "Well I could kill you. But then, I'd have to deal with the hunter's curse. And I, I don't particularly feel like being haunted for the next century. Better idea. I'll just rip off your arms."

Kol rushes at Jeremy, but Damon rams Kol into the wall and head-butts him. I grab Jeremy as they start to fight. "Come on, it's not safe for us."

Jeremy nods and we flee out of the bar. "We can't just leave Damon in there." he frantically tells me as we hop in the car. "He'll be find. Kol won't kill him."

"How would you know? Oh right, you're like part Mikaelson." he says and I furrow my eyebrows as I start to drive away from the bar. "Uh, what do you mean?"

"You don't think I noticed? You two look at each other like you're in love." he lowers his voice, but I heard him. I remain silent. "Which isn't true, right?!"

I avoid eye contact and look at the road ahead of me. "Maya!" Jeremy raises his voice. "I don't know what to say, Jeremy."

He scoffs and looks out the window and we didn't say a word the rest of the car ride. I let out a huge sigh and continue to drive all the way home.

§

"Klaus! Your bro–" I stop quickly when I enter the living room. "Oh. Elena." I look at her as she was in the middle of a conversation with Klaus, odd.

This was the first time I saw her after our fight. Last night she came to the Lake house, but we completely ignored each other. "Maya."

"I'll get to calling my brother while I assume you two will work things out." Klaus speaks up and walks out the room, shooting a smirk at me before he leaves.

Elena and I were standing here for a few moments, not saying anything. Knowing Elena, she wasn't going to say sorry first, so I decided to.

"Well, I guess I'm sorry for stabbing you." I tell her straight in the eye. She shakes her head, "No, I know that wasn't your fault. I shouldn't of latched out at you. I'm sorry, Maya."

"And I shouldn't of said those things about you and Damon. You can do whatever you want, I can't stop you." I say and she nods. "Same with you."

She steps forward and gives me a small smile. "Sisters?" I return the smile and pull her into a hug. "Sisters."

We pull away. "Did Jeremy get home okay?" I nod at her question and lets out a sigh of relief. By the time Klaus walked in, Elena had already left.

His eyes softens as he looks at me. "Are you still angry at me?"

I chuckle and shake my head. "Not anymore." I've had some time to cool off and I couldn't stay mad at him forever. And Jeremy didn't get hurt.

Klaus flashes in front of me and sends me a smirk. "Good. I don't like it when you are mad at me." he says and moves a piece of hair out of my face and putting it behind my ear.

His eyes stare back into mine and his lips form into a small smile. And as cliché as this sounds, I knew damn well that I had fallen for him.
