Kim Taehyung was now right in front of my eyes, as dashing as always. He wore a black turtle neck and beige pants with his hair dyed pitch black. He looked damn mesmerizing but I was not dumb. I can't trust him just like that but then his question rang in my head, 'why are you here?'
I had already heard that form Jin oppa and I was not expecting it to come out from his mouth too. I composed myself as my face held no expression which I had mastered from a few years. I stood up straight and pulled myself away from him. Even he had his face all stiff which made the scenario a bit gloomy.
"I don't have to answer that for you Kim Taehyung-shi. It would be better if you asked one of you close friends, Jungkook on why I'm here" I said and turned around to walk away but I had to stop abruptly when he held my hand all of a sudden.
"Is that all you have to say to me?" he asked. What does he expect? He thinks that I would jump to his embrace and would kiss him like I love him for dear life. I want him to suffer just like how I had to for these three long years. I want him to know how painful it was for me when he stepped out of my life so effortlessly.
"I don't think there is anything more that we can speak of, Kim Taehyung-shi. Now would you kindly let me go since I have other business to take care of" I freed my hand and started walking away from him without even looking back at him. He didn't follow me at first but then, I could hear his footsteps follow me.
I wanted to run away from there as I searched for any signs of escape but then it was like god had heard my prayers and a familiar face appeared near the reception of the hotel. I smirked and swiftly walked towards that person. I twirled him around to face me and shot him the best fake smile I could come up with.
"Jackson oppa!!!" I squealed as I held onto his arm like a koala. Jackson was surprised to see me appear like that out of nowhere. I didn't give him time to think as I started dragging him towards my room. I knew Taehyung would already be burning with anger but I just pulled Jackson with me while he looked at me with wide eyes.
"Just act along, please" I whispered and he cooperated without uttering a single word. I was thankful he obliged to my request. We walked hand in hand until we reached the door of my room and he looked at me with questioning eyes.
"Come on in. I'll tell you everything inside" I said and opened the door for him to enter.
Jackson was Minji's ex who dated her a year ago but had broke up because she later found out that he was cheating on her with a GUY. Both of them had talked out their differences and had ended up as friends after that. But it was just mere coincidence for me to find him here in Africa. Jackson was the same age as me but I called him oppa intentionally because I wanted someone to burn.
I entered the room to find Minji playing with Mirae on the bed while Jungkook sat on the floor at a corner like he was punished in class for misbehaving. I and Jackson walked closer to the bed eyeing all three of them.

"Why are you sitting there like that?" I asked as I tried my best to control my laughter. My voice gained everyone's attention and Minji's eyes met that of Jackson's before she sprung up from the bed towards him. But I could see Jungkook eyeing them with a frown. Then I clapped at him for an answer to my question.
Jungkook sighed and got up. He started walking towards the bed and right after three steps Mirae started crying. He then walked back to his original place and she stopped crying automatically. He sat down on the ground again and looked at me with a bored expression.
"Got the hint?" he asked raising his eyebrows and I couldn't control my laughter this time. I don't know why but I wanted to hug Mirae so bad for this. I then looked at my daughter who was dozing off as she drooped and got awake every second which was so cute.
I put her down to sleep and patted her chest until she was completely asleep while others waited for me in silence. After I was assured that my daughter was asleep, I walked to the trio where Minji and Jackson spoke with each other and Jungkook was eyeing them with a pout. As soon as I approached them, all their attention was on me.
"Jackson told me everything. Why on earth did you do that?" Minji asked while looking at me like I had lost it. I had to roll my eyes at her.
"Taehyung is here" I said and Jungkook almost screamed.
"Hyung came? I knew it! I knew it!!" I had to shut his mouth with his hand. If Mirae wakes up at this time she won't sleep the whole night. I smacked his arm and shushed him gesturing to Mirae's direction and he gave me a understanding nod.
"So, he's here?" Minji asked with wide eyes and Jackson looked at us innocently not knowing anything about our conversation.
"Anyone care to explain what is going on?" Jackson finally asked and we had to tell him everything. After the explaining that we did to him, he finally understood the matter but his reaction to it was unexpected.
"So you are telling me that you are the mother of Kim Taehyung's daughter?!" Jackson asked with wide eyes. I know he was shocked but that won't change the fact. I just nodded my head and he still looked at me with wide eyes.
"Jackson, that is not important now. I need your help with something" I said and Jungkook's head snapped at me like he was a meerkat. Jackson looked at me with suspicion making me roll my eyes.
"What kind of help?" he asked and the two meerkats looked at him now. A smirk formed on my lips as I clearly spoke out the words.
"I need you to pretend to be my husband for a few days" I said and Jackson started laughing his ass off while the other two looked at me like I was a mad women.
"Are you out of your mind? What do you mean by asking him to 'pretend to be your husband for a few days' ? You are not doing anything like that under my watch!" Minji snapped at me and her sudden rage pissed me off too. She is younger than me and how dare she drop the honorifics with me?!
"You stay out of this, Minji! And don't you dare speak to me like that!" I raised my voice too. Both the men in the room were looking at both of us silently as they were afraid that they would be bullied if they interfered.

"Fine! Do whatever you want then don't come to me when it gets messed up!" Minji said and walked to our shared bedroom where Mirae was sleeping. I felt a tiny bit of regret for scolding her but being my sister I wanted her to support me not oppose me. I looked Jackson while frowning and he flinched. Even Jungkook was looking at me like I would kill him any moment.
"So are you helping me or not?" I deadpanned and he gulped before nodding. I turned to Jungkook next and he gulped as well even before I could speak.
"And you. Don't you dare tell Taehyung anything about this" I said and Kookie nodded his head furiously.
After the discussion was over Jungkook and Jackson went their rooms and Minji was already asleep beside my daughter. Both slept soundly when I went to check on them. The blanket was not properly spread over Minji so I went forward to make it proper which woke her up.
"Won't you sleep?" she asked still being drowsy. I smiled at her and shook my head. The fights we have always end within a few minutes or hours after which we act as though nothing happened and that's what made us this close. Neither me nor Minji could remain angry on one another for a long time.
I sat down near the headboard of the bed and Minji shifted to place her head on my lap being careful to not wake up Mirae. I caressed her soft hair as she curled up comfortably.
"Just don't get hurt again, unnie. I swear I'll kill him if he hurts you again" she said and fell asleep. She was such a sweet heart that it made me wonder how I even deserve her in my life. I let her sleep on my lap for a while and then shifted to the other side of the bed.
******************************
"Oppa, you either help me out or you fall and die" I yelled as Jackson tried to pull me up the rocky path. We were on trekking on Mount Kenya. And of course Taehyung had followed us. I could feel his eyes on me but I was scared to death as I held on to Jackson since my life did depend on it now.
Mirae was taken care of by Irene unnie who had arrived in the morning. She insisted to take care of her when she got to know that todays plans included trekking. So MIrae was with Irene unnie while I and Minji were climbing a mountain here. I called Irene unnie every now then to make sure that Mirae is not crying.
We reached our destination point after few hours and then set up a small camp to have lunch. Jackson tugged on my shirt to gain my attention and when our eyes met, he looked like he was given a death threat by some gangster.
"What happened?" I asked him as I looked at him with concern.
"Your man is looking at me like he would kill me any moment" he said with fear overflowing in every word he uttered. Suddenly I got a call from Irene unnie.Due to network problem I couldn't hear a single word she was saying but I could definitely sense her panicking through the call. I searched for Minji and panicked when I found her.
"Minji we have to get back! Irene unnie called me but I couldn't hear anything! WE have to get back" I almost cried and I was loosing my shit. I knew this was a bad idea leaving Mirae alone but still I was so engrossed in my own so called 'plan'. Taehyung couldn't stand it anymore and approached us.
"What is going on here?" his words came out like daggers but when I turned to him, I saw him glaring at Jackson. If I was not a mother right now I would have ignored him but then I needed to see my daughter at any cost.
"Taehyung can you arrange anything for us to get back to the hotel?" I begged him he looked confused but thankfully he didn't ask any further details and talked into his two way radio. A helicopter was arranged and four of us, that is, me, MInji, Jackson and Taehyung flew back to the hotel.
As soon as we reached the hotel, Jin oppa dropped us to the hospital as he told us everything on the way. Mirae had suddden raise in her temperature and had lost consciousness. So Irene unnie had to take her to the hospital urgently since Mirae was not responding at all. Every second in the car I prayed to god while Minji and Jackson tried to console me. I was crying my heart out all through the ride.
When the car stooped in front of the hospital, I ran inside like a maniac as my eyes searched for Irene unnie all over. The others followed me being concerned themselves. I ran to the receptionist and asked for Mirae and she directed me to the special ward. Entering the ward I saw Irene unnie sitting beside Mirae who slept peacefully in the small bed. A relieved sigh escaped my mouth when I saw her breathing normally while she slept soundly.
The doctor there updated me with her condition and found out that is was just a fever and that there was nothing to worry. I stayed the night there with Mirae since the doctor said that he had to conduct a few more tests on her the next day.
As I sat beside the small bed I almost dozed off on the chair. I thought of taking a walk and walked out into the lobby. There I found Taehyung sitting on one of the benches while he was deep in thought. I approached him and poked on his shoulder.
"what are you doing here at this hour?" I asked and he looked at me being surprised.
"Umm... just wanted to see if you were fine or needed something" he said scratching his head. I sighed and looked at him for a moment before speaking.
"Earlier, thanks for arranging the helicopter for me" I said and he frowned as he got up from the seat and walked closer to me.
"Why are you acting like this?" he asked making me scoff.
"You are asking me that question now? I wouldn't do it if you hadn't left me after having a nice time with me" I growled in the lobby.
"I left you for a reason Y/n. I love you and that's why I had to leave you. For your own good" he said. I looked at him with a frown now.
"That makes no sense Kim Taehyung!" My voice echoed in the hallway. He got hold of my hand and dragged me to the yard outside the hospital. After we stepped into the lawn he let go of my hand and held his temple while looking at the ground. Then he suddenly looked at me with pain.
"Fine! So you want to know why I left you right?" he said making me shiver with his deep voice. I slowly nodded my head. But what he said next knocked the air out of my lungs.
"Because your grandmother is dead because of me!"

The 48 Laws of Power in Practice
Discover how power works in the world, through true stories and real-world applications. In the game of power, we all play - as either conscious or unconscious players. So we can't afford not to know the rules. The ** chapters have the most outrageous content. In each chapter, I will be summarizing one of the laws and how it can be applied to current events and pop culture. Some of you have told me the stories are what you enjoy the most. They are real, raw, and anonymous so that others may learn from my mistakes. There will be cringe-worthy stories of self-sabotage, but perhaps also some unlikely triumphs. Some of the details are changed to protect the innocent, (or perhaps guilty). "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene illustrates truths about power, through philosophy and lessons from three thousand years of history, which still hold true today. There is a lot to learn from each chapter. I encourage you to go on this journey with me by reflecting on how each law might apply to you. Together, may we learn from the past and take control of the future.
