A few moments of silence passed before Dick spluttered on his beverage. Some of the hot liquid sloshing out of the mug as he coughed.

"You got everything?" Dick called from the kitchen.
"Yes Richard," Damian replied as he zipped up his bag.
As Damian spoke, Dick's phone vibrated in his pocket. He fished it out and saw that it was a text from Bruce. He was waiting outside like he said he would be thirty minutes ago. A real stickler for time he is.
"B's downstairs," Dick said as he went back to preparing a pot of coffee.
Damian hummed in response and shouldered his bag. Exiting the bedroom and coming into the main area.
"Are you sure you have everything Lil' D?" Dick asked as he leaned against a counter in the kitchen, cup of coffee in hand.
"Ask again and I won't be back in two weeks," Damian said.
"We both know you don't mean that."
"True."
Dick's phone vibrated in his pocket again. He didn't even need to check to know that it was another message from Bruce.
"I assume father wants me to hurry up," Damian said as he made his way over to Dick.
"Yeah, so you best be off," Dick replied.
"I had a pleasant time with you this weekend."
"I enjoyed spending time with you too," Dick said, using his free hand to ruffle Damian's hair.
Dick's phone vibrated for a third time and Damian rolled his eyes. Now it was really time to go. As such, he made his way over to the front door and unlocked it. All the while Dick sipped on his coffee and watched Damian go.
"Bye Baba," Damian said as he took his leave.

Here you go: This is Urban-fantasy but a little bit of a different spin. Often the protagonists in such stories tend to be the bigger fish in their world, or at least far from small fry. Be they legendary boogie men or badass wizards (which is in no way a bad thing, I love a lot of those stories.) But I thought it would be fun to have a protagonist who's far closer to the bottom end of the scale. He has some magic, and it's potent in its own way. But he isn't the big dog or a fighting machine. Outside of his bubble of influence, our protagonist is essentially a normal human as far as powers are concerned. And while you should be warned that this story will get dark in some places it's (hopefully) balanced out by humor and the lighter stuff. I'm not sure how to end this synopsis section so I'll just say bye. Bye!
