The dripping of an IV woke Iruma up. He groaned, hearing whispers around him, and sat up, rubbing his cheek, which was bandaged.
"What... Happened...?" His memories were blurry, but he could remember-
"I did what I had to do, Kalego." Robin frowns, shaking Iruma a little. "Anyways, Sullivan's far enough away right now. We have to erase their memories now before he gets here."
"I want Iruma-"
"No. He's supposed to stay alive until Master can talk to him." It scared him, what was going on...? He didn't have time to ask as Robin raised his fist, punching Iruma in the face, and knocking him out instantly.
Right... That...
Iruma glanced out the window for a bit, seeing himself in the reflection. His face was bandaged up, and so was his arms, and what he could tell by touching, his chest and stomach. The ring was still on his finger, so luckily they hadn't stolen it, although he didn't know if he could take it off.
"Ah, Mister Shichiro! Your awake, good." Iruma looked over at the nurse that walked in. She was a cat demon, with pink ears and a light pink tail with a white tuft on the end. "Your father's friend already signed your release forms but you were taking a while to get up. He told us you were sick- but we were still worried you'd never wake up."
"How long have I been out?"
"Two days." Iruma's eyes widden. "You should be fine now, although you'll still have to wear those bandages for a while. As said by Azazel, you'll have to change them every other day, for three weeks, since you had to have alot of stiches." Her tail was wagging, Iruma didnt know if that was because he was now awake, or because she was just happy

"Ah, thank you." Iruma says. "Can I see my dad now? Or-"
"I actually came to make sure you were up do you could be transferred home! Your friends had been checked out when you all first arrived here." It made Iruma feel a bit weak."
"Ah, y..yeah.." She turned around.
"Get dressed, your clothes are on the bed. Hurry now."
"Y-yes ma'am!" Iruma struggles to changes and as he was trying to put on his shirt he let out a high pitched yelp. He couldn't raise his arms. They hurt.
"Hold on dear, I'll help you with that." They struggle with his shirt as he gets it on before she walks him down to the front desk, where Kalego was waiting. He looked over at him as Iruma walked in, relief flooding onto his face.
"Ah, Iruma." Kalego says, holding out his hand. "Your dad's at home with Azazel. He's alright." Iruma sighs with relif, and Kalego leads him out. "Azazel wants to talk with you. I want to ask you questions as well." Kalego opens his wings once they get outside, grabbing Iruma gently before flying off.
"What do you wanna ask-"
"Your Human, arnt you?" Iruma went silent. Was this... His plan...? Kalego was going to eat him- but Kalego was Balam's friend-
"I-"
"Azazel told me." Kalego doesn't look at Iruma. "I just wanted to confirm. You wernt in this hospital until two days ago- Azazel took you and left while everyone else was rushed to the hospital. I asked and he told me. Your not sick, are you?" Iruma shakes, feeling like he was going to cry. He wouldn't be able to do anything- Kalego had him up in the air- if he struggled Kalego could very well drop him.

"N... No. I'm not... I'm not sick. I'm not even a demon. P-please.. don't eat me, i-i don't taste good." He whispers, and Kalego looks down at him. "Please.."
"Iruma, I'm not going to kill you." Kalego lands, setting him down. "Kid, trust me. I'm not going to hurt you."
"B-but-"
"Your Balam's kid- he'd kill me if I hurt you. We've known each other for what- four years now? I've been to two of your birthday parties? And you think I'd eat you?"
"D-dad told me all demons would eat humans if-if they had the chance... Cause we taste good.." Iruma curls up against himself, and Kalego walks over to him. Iruma flinches as Kalego grabs his shoulder, before pulling him close, hugging him. "W-"
"Don't rely on me giving you any more hugs, brat." Iruma hugs him back, and feels Kalego squeeze him gently. "This is a one time thing- I don't even hug Balam."
"I-i know. Dad complains about it alot." Kalego chuckles.
"Ofcourse he does." Kalego lets him go, waving his hand, and they continue in the way of the house. "That idiots never understood feelings before and-" Iruma glances over at him with a sly grin.
"Do you like my dad?" He asks, and by the way Kalego goes quiet, and glances away before awnsering gives Iruma his awnser.
"What." Iruma stares at him for a couple of second as they walk before chuckling. "Listen brat-"
"You do! Is that why you helped him when we were attacked a couple of days ago?" Kalego stops, and looks over at him. Iruma pauses as well, looking over at him. Did he say something wrong...? Everything he was saying was just in jest.
"You... You remember that...?" Wait... Kalego doesn't...? Why- Iruma's eyes widden.
"I did what I had to do, Kalego." Robin frowns, shaking Iruma a little. "Anyways, Sullivan's far enough away right now. We have to erase their memories now before he gets here."
Their memories really got erased..? Iruma couldnt belive it. He didn't know that people HAD memory spells, he just thought those were talked about- like it was a forbidden spell or something.
"Y-yeah. You tried to fight but the guy punched you." Kalego touches the bandage on his face, Iruma hadnt even noticed it."I don't know what happened after that, he knocked me out."
"Hmm... I only remember the explosion and you helping me out of the rubble. I don't remember anything else. I'm sure Azazel will ask you the same questions once we get there. Oh, and-" Kalego looks over at him, continuing to walk. "Balam's in his brooding period, I'm suprised he hasn't had one all these years, which means this one will be bad."
"Brooding period?" Iruma ran to catch up with him. "Whats a brooding period?
"Basically he'll want you to stay super close to him and won't let you do anything unless your by him. I'm sure it'll pass but your in for it." Kalego chuckles a little. "Usually he'd have a cat or one of those eggs he'd find in the woods or something, but this time its you." Iruma looked over at him, frowning.
"Is it bad? I mean like.. Will I still be able to eat?" Kalego stops at the gates infront of Balam's house, putting a hand on the side of one, and watching it open.
"Yeah, dont worry about it. You'll be fine... I think. Maybe."
"That doesnt make me feel less worried!"

At The Lions Gate
In the 20th century America reinvented itself. Devastated by depression, scarred by war, rocked by a revolution, Americans banded together to preserve their country and their freedom. They had faith in themselves, faith in one another, and for those who believed…faith in God. This novel tells the story of one American who lived through those turbulent years….years that would test his character and the character of a nation. For Josh Sanders it begins in 1935. A star athlete in school, pro football is a ticket out of poverty during the Great Depression; but when his father, a WWI veteran, is killed during a robbery, Josh’s spirit is broken, and with it his boyhood dream. To honor his father Josh joins the war effort in 1942, distinguishing himself as a fighter pilot, until a fateful decision near the end of the war changes the course of his life once again. But many years later, after a stint as a boxer and a failed marriage, Josh finds his calling…at a time when the country is at war with itself. The year is 1968. King and Kennedy have been killed, race riots are breaking out, and Vietnam has become an albatross, causing massive protests across the country. In the streets of San Francisco Josh watches a crowd of students march for peace. As a veteran he’s conflicted, toward the war and those who oppose it. But when he encounters Rosy Goldin, a spirited young protester in need of help, a voice from the past calls him to action. His good intentions are soon tested when Rosy falls in love with the fugitive anti-war activist Erick White, a young man determined to oppose the war at all costs, against the wishes of his own father. Fearful of what happens to Rosy, Josh confronts Erick, unwilling to be part of his plan to escape…until he meets the boy’s father. A high-powered criminal attorney, Karl White is also a flag-waving patriot demanding that his son follow the law. But as White makes his case Josh is jolted by a painful war-time memory, a crisis of conscience that will soon determine the fate of Rosy Goldin and Erick White.
