AMIRA POV
I checked the final touches of myself in the floor length mirror. I ran my hands down the sides of my curves, which were complemented by the black strapless dress I had purchased earlier at the mall.
I slipped into my red high heel pumps before I tended to my curly black curls one last time.
I ran my eyeliner pen across my eye and straightened and thickened my eyelashes with the brush of my mascara.
"Hey?" I looked into the reflection of my bathroom mirror. Through the reflection, I spotted Brittany stride into my bedroom door.
"Again, you don't knock?" I tossed my makeup into my makeup pouch.
"And again, why should I?" She rolled her eyes. "So, how do I look?"
She twirled around to give me a look at her cheetah print dress. Her long legs exposed to the eye. She extended her leg to show me her black high heel booties. She smiled. Her little lips were complimented with a ruby red lipstick, which matched her straightened red hair.
"So where is Angela?" I sat at the edge of my bed.
"She should be getting ready."
"Hmmm."
"What was that?" I questioned her.
"What was what?"
"The 'hmmm' thing you did."
"Well, I'm just surprised that she is actually coming out." She admitted.
"Why wouldn't she?"
"Look, she has never been the interacting type. She always stayed in her room or volunteered to do patrol. But to see her actually wanting to come out is....good. It's good to see she's opening up a little."
"Aww you sound so caring." I placed my hand over my chest and smiled at her heartwarming comment.
"Shut up and let's go get her so we can leave." She clutched her purse and shoved passed me before I followed.....
"Ang?" I called. Knocking on her room door for a second time, I was beginning to think she was going to stand us up.
Her room door clicked before it slowly creaked open. Hidden behind her messy brunette locks were red eyes that threatened to release tears.
"What's wrong?"
"I'm just...feeling... so overwhelmed, between the make-ups, my hair, the accessories. I just...never really did this before."
She walked away, leaving us to enter her room.
Wow, her room was huge.
"Relax; a lot of girls went through that issue of being unsure what to do with their hair or makeup. Look, we will help you, okay?"
"Thanks." Despite my assurance that we will help, I could still see something nipping at her.
"Brittany?"
"I'll go get my make-up bag." She zipped out of the room before returning with her large makeup kit and hair utensils.
Angela took a seat at the vanity. Brittany set up her work station while Angela tussled with the ends of her hair.
"Ang, do you NEED glasses?" Brittany questioned her.
No not really. Just for better reading-"
"Great!" Without another word, Brittany removed the small glasses from Angela's face. She folded them and placed them on to the vanity table top. She turned to a nervous Angela. Brittany took in her face. She told me once before that is how she analyzes the face to know what colors should be used.
Using her fingers, she shaped a rectangle to form a picture frame of some sort.
"You're the perfect canvas."
"Girl will you shut it and hurry up." I glanced down at my wrist watch.
"Fine, fine." She picked up her first utensil and began her work...

I stood at the window. Irrelevant thoughts appeared in my head. Thoughts I should not being having. For example, these dangerous dreams that I have been dealing with.
I ran my hand up my arm. Chill bumps appeared across my arm as I relived the dreams.
"Yes girl. You look amazing." I could hear the excitement in Brittany's tone. I turned to them. Standing at the rear of them, I was anxious to see the magic Brittany had created in under ten minutes.
Angela slowly rose from the chair. I stepped toward them. After admiring herself in the mirror, she turned to face me. I smiled at the new person who stood in front of me.
Her wavy brunette hair complemented her face exceptionally. Her bright blue orbs peeked behind the smoky eye shadow that was added. A smile formed on her natural colored lips.
"Wow, you look amazing."
"Thank you." Her blue eyes sparkled under the bedroom lighting.
"So shall we be going?"
Angela slipped on her evening dress and put on her shoes. We picked up our things and walked down the stairs to the door.
"Question, are we supposed to inform the Alpha that we are leaving?" I did not know much about the requirements when leaving this house.
"No!" Angela quickly assured me. "We don't have to do that."
I stuffed my phone into my purse as I followed the girls out of the house....
We pulled up to a large building and parked the vehicle. I exited the vehicle first. I glanced up at the establishment. Written in bold and italics was the name 'kisses'.
Bright lights sparkled from the inside and many women and men flooded in pass the bouncer.
We walked up to the door. Music blasted out to the streets once the bouncer opened the door for us to enter. Stepping in was like walking into a new place. People were dancing and moving across the floor, bartenders were pouring drinks and shots, and the DJ was scrambling up a mix of songs.
I smiled. For some reason, I doubted this club would even look this way just moment ago. However, I feel as though I stepped into a New York atmosphere.
"Come on girls, let's go to the bar." Brittany insisted as we followed her over to the crowded bar.
"Three shots to start." The bartender nodded once before he placed three empty shot glasses onto the table top and pulled a bottle to pour.
"Have you ever had liquor before?" Brittany picked up the shot and handed it to Angela. I picked mines up.
"Yes. Well just some wine." She took the shot glass before she sniffed the content. Her reaction to the intense smell left us in a state of laughter.
"Well this is a little better then wine."
Brittany winked before she brought the shot glass to her lips and tilted her head back. Angela watched as alcohol disappeared from Brittany's shot glass.
"Another?" Brittany requested from the passing bartender.
Angela stared at the tiny glass as if she had just met her match. Her eyes narrowed and her lips thinned when she looked at the liquid.
"Okay ladies. To a fun a night." Brittany rose her glass as did we for a toast before he took the liquid in one gulp. I ignored the familiar burning before I looked in a pair of blue water-filled eyes.
"Oh my god." Angela coughed.
"Trust me; it will get easier to take." I assured her.....

***********
Dancing.
Shots.
Laughing.
Shots.
Men.
Shots.
I could not imagine spending another passing year of age any other way. I was having a blast and as I could see, so was the girls. Brittany was standing beside a few hot guys from another pack who has been supplying her with beverages. She enjoyed the attention; however she would never take any of them home.
Angela had even loosened up a little as well. She was dancing beside me, rotating her hips to the beat. Her eyes were closed as her body disappeared into the music. I tapped her shoulder. Her blue pools cracked open. I could tell the many shots were flowing through her system.
"I'm going to the bar." I hollered over the deafening speaker system. She nodded before I walked away.
"Water?" I requested from the bartender. He nodded before he stepped away.
"Hi?" I turned and was face to face with a handsome male.
"Hi?" I returned the greeting.
"You're are beautiful, what is your name?"
"Uh Amira." I was never really one to share my name with strangers. However, I was making an exception. Just this once.
"Hi Amira, I'm Kevin. From the Black mountains." He extended his hand. I placed mines into his. He placed a gentle kiss onto the black of my hand.
Oh. Chill bumps erupted from his touch. I pulled my hand away. I lowered my head to fight the faint blush that kissed my cheeks.
"I'm from the Black Mist." My voice heightened over the base.
"Can I buy you a drink?"
"Um sure." Hey, why not? It's a free drink.
Kevin slid into stool beside me before he flagged down the busy bartender.
"Vodka for me and a sex on the beach for her." I looked at him. His eyes remand on the bartender. His once thinned lips were now pulled up to form an amused smile once he noticed my staring eyes.
"So, how is your night going so far?"
"Well, so far, it has been fun for my girls and me."
"Oh you brought other women just as beautiful as you?"
I released an abnormal laugh. One, I found quite disturbing, even for me.
Wow! That was embarrassing.
The bartender returned with our drinks. He pulled a coaster and placed mines in front of me. Curious about the drink, which I have never had the opportunity of tasting, I sipped it until the glass was nearly empty.
"Mm." The drink had a desirable mixture of liquor and sweetness.
"Good?"
"Very." I nodded. "Have no idea why we did not order this earlier."
Then I realized, WE? We! I spun around in the stool. Bodies still bumped and gyrated on the dance floor but where were the girls.
"Looking for someone?"
"Uuhh yeah, my friends. I have to go." I quickly thanked him for the drink.
"Wait, Can I have your number?" He requested.
Normally, I would decline it. However, something about him seemed enjoyable. Maybe giving him my number would be okay.
"Uummm sure." I took his cellphone and added my name and number to his contacts before I dismissed myself from the bar.
Where the hell are you guys? Shifting pass the intoxicated, vulnerable active bodies, I searched through the crowd until I found Brittany and Angela.
I pulled my phone and dialed the taxi service. I requested a cab because I knew no one was driving tonight.
Brittany was dancing with an attractive male who seemed into her. His hands ran up the side of her thigh until they reached her waist. Her eyes were closed but her lips formed a smile even I found alarming at the moment.
Cock block alert? Who give a hell, it was time to go. I stormed toward the grinding party and pulled them apart.
"Hey?" The male seemed irritated by my intrusion.
"Let's go."
Brittany growled and tugged but my grip on her was way too strong to escape. One down. Now where is the other? Bingo!
I spotted the petite body standing beside a tattoo covered tall, muscular male. She twirled the ends of her hair as the man gazed down at her in lust.
"Let's go now flirty." I tugged at her arm.
"Aww do we have to?" Her small lips poked out as she pouted.
I dragged the intoxicated females outside. Cool air greeted us with a fresh and brisk breeze that I knew the girls would definitely appreciate.
The night was growing late and the sun was bound to peak over the far mountain tops. I just wanted to get to bed before then.
A cab pulled in front of us. I shoved the girls into it, careless if it was our cab or not.
I gave the address before I glanced up at the bright sign that read 'kisses' slowly disappear...
I sighed as I tied up my hair and kicked off my heels. My feet screamed in pain once they touched the cool flooring.
We had to make this quick.
I opened the second door of the house. The house seemed so lifeless until the girls came in. The girls laughed and stumbled into the door, their heels punching at the tile floor under them.
"Sssh." I closed the door before I began pushing them into the kitchen.
They hushed each other for a moment before they burst out into a fit of laughter again.
I guided the girls in to the kitchen to get them some water. They sat down at the kitchen island, still giggling away.
"Oh my god he was so hot, but the guy you were talking to..." Brittany pointed her shaky finger at Angela. "Was extra hot."
They sat there comparing which guy was hotter or sexier while I pulled out water from the refrigerator and a few pieces of bread from the cupboard.
"Par-tay." Angela picked up her bottle of water and began splashing it. Brittany picked up hers and started splashing her water back. It was like watching two kids play in some sprinklers.
"Ssshh stop it." I reached for the bottles to stop them from making any more of a mess.
I had thoughts of slapping them but it was the alcohol. I had to keep reminding myself of that.
"Keep it down!!" A masculine voice yelled over the abundance amount of laughter. I looked toward the entrance way. Alpha!
He looked to Brittany and huffed before his eyes narrowed in on me. Then he looked to Angela. His eyes widened and his lips thinned when he saw how intoxicated she was.
"What the hell are you doing?" He questioned her.
"Uummm n-nothing." Angela hiccupped. She stood to her feet and smooth out her dress, struggling to look presentable at the foot of her Alpha. However her stumbling and her low eyes would give her away.
"Are you drunk?!" He questioned her through gritted teeth.
"Uummm maybe." She struggled to keep a straight face until her lips spread to release a laugh.
"To your room-"
"But I-"
"NOW!" His jaw had clinched and the pools of his eyes had darkened. Angela lowered her head in submission. She removed her heels before walked out of the kitchen.
"You too Brittany." Brittany stumbled toward the kitchen's exit with me on her heels to assist her.
"Not....You!"
Chewing on the inside of my bottom lip in nervousness, I began to fiddle with the hem of my dress. I inhaled a breath. Goddess, I reek of alcohol.
"What do you think you were doing?" His eyes had narrowed in on my face.
"What's wrong? Me and the girls decided to have a good time, that's it, is that bad?" I slipped into the stool.
"Is that bad?" A wave of laughter rumbled from him. A sarcastic one at that. "Is that bad? You got my little sister drunk and took her to some party with a bunch of horny wolves."
Sister? The word had replayed in my head like a broken record.
"I-I-I." I had no words to give. "I'm sorry. I did not know."
"Just....Go to your room." He ran his fingers through his hair. Frustration clearly evident on his face.
I snatched up my purse and rushed out of the kitchen with my heels in hand. Sister? I tossed my heels into the open closet before I flopped down onto my bed.
Sister? I sunk into my bed and stared at the ceiling. Sister? That word had stuck with me until I disappeared into a needed slumber.

In this story, the main character is reincarnated as a larva, but his evolution will lead him down a path to become a will 'o wisp firefly hybrid, since that is what the fellows over on light novel amino requested, and it sounded cool. I'm just writing this to keep my fingers moving, so it won't have too much effort in it, but if you like stories like the beginning of the (good) reincarnated-as-a-dragon light novel, I'm sure you'll like this one. Popcorn isekai fic. The cover, drawn by yours truly, will reflect the current evolution of the main character. Also, he'll be pretty weak-to-strong, since, well, maggots are kind-of-really weak.
