《The Pig and the Frog》FIFTEEN

The next week at school is a dread. Staying silent, being glared at, people asking if I'm okay, and almost breaking down. And it all repeats.

I'm laying in my bed, my hair a mess, staring at he ceiling. I look at the patterns in the ceiling, wondering if there's a way to paint them. Maybe?

I run my hand over my wrist, which is covered by my Santa Cruz sweatshirt. It covers the scars, that I've been doing a pretty good job at hiding since I moved back.

"So far so good." I mumble to myself. My mom and dad left a few hours ago, said they'll be gone all week. I'm here alone, well, basically.

My brother doesn't ever talk to me. Unless he needs something from me. Like money, or well, not sure, mostly money. I feel like he's never going to pay me back.

I'm not surprised.

"Bea! I'm leaving! And I'm not coming back for a while!" Caleb screams, and I smile.

"Thank the lord." I mumble to myself. I turn my head towards the door, and yell to him. "Okay bye!" I keep staring at the ceiling, until my eyes drift into a deep sleep.

My eyes open again, and everything is a blur. I turn my head towards the clock, and see someone sitting by me. I jump, and rub my eyes- mostly so I can see again.

"Tris! Your up, finally." He smiles a little, and I know it's Tobias. I smile a bit to.

"How'd you get in? And when did you get here?" I ask him, pulling myself up, and sliding my sweatshirt back down my wrist.

He lifts his arm and points to the window. "Oh." I say and he laughs a little.

"You know, your very peaceful in your sleep." I shrug a little. I then roll my eyes.

"I wish it was always like that." I mumble to myself, but he frowns. I know he heard that.

"I know you're not okay Tris, so I won't ask you that. But you've stopped eating, and smiling, and talking. So, we are leaving this house." I raise an eyebrow, and he grabs my hand, leading me out of the house.

We start walking down the street and I have no clue where we are going. I guess it's my lucky day, I have about $100 that my mom gave me earlier. She usually gives me that much, for food and stuff.

"Well, Blondie, where do you want to go?" He looks at me with his boyish smile. I take the money from my pocket and smile.

"As long as I'm with you, I'm okay."
