《The Pig and the Frog》EIGHT

Once I hear the school bell ring, I rush out of class. Down the hall. To the left. Down the hall. To the left. And then my locker will be there. Maybe I can avoid all my friends so I don't have to talk.

But as usual, God isn't on my side. "Hey Tris!" I hear and I see Uriah by my locker. I mentally roll my eyes and walk over.

"Oh hi." I say quietly. He laughs a little and leans on my locker. I look up to him and have smile.

"Don't talk much do you." He laughs shaking his head, as a weird expression crosses my face. "I'll break you."

"It's hard to break someone that's already broken." I mumble to myself, hoping he didn't hear. I get a weird expression but he doesn't say anything. "Uriah can you move a sec, I need to open my locker."

He smiles and moves out of my way. Thank God it wasn't that hard. The people at my old school are just...evil? I look at the lock and put in the code.

9-21-17

And it pops right open. I open it up and grab a book, the picture, and my keys. I briefly look at the picture. I smile and turn towards the clock on the wall.

"Oh Jesus! It's 2:50 I'm running late!" I lie so I don't have to talk anymore. "Bye Uriah nice talk I guess." He laughs as I hurry on out, hoping not to see anyone.

"Bye Tris!" He calls out but I don't turn back to acknowledge him. Oh well, I think, as I open up one of the doors towards the front. I keep walking down the road, as I plug in my ear buds to my iPhone.

I don't even know what I'm going to listen to. But at least no one will bother me right?

I silently sing Riptide to myself, since that's what's on of course, and stroll through the streets. I see the Starbucks I went to this morning, and know I'm on the right track. That's good at least.

I hate using directions on my phone. I'd rather not have a phone, but I only use it for music. Or ignoring people. Or answers to homework, which I usually don't need since I'm pretty smart. Not to brag.

I turn down an ally that leads to the street with my house. I sigh in relief. Finally, I'm almost home. I keep walking down the sidewalk, and my house is just a few more down.

But I hear someone behind me, but I don't take much notice. Until I hear a voice.

"Beatrice?"
