《Safe Haven》Chapter Fifteen

The game starts with simple, harmless questions, never have I ever given a fake number, stolen something from a store, had a speeding ticket... but once the alcohol started to hit Daisy, Jess and Scott things got more... fun.
"Never have I ever gotten a tattoo." Scott says. Daisy takes a shot and Jamie and I have some hot sauce. At this point I'm sure my face might be a bit red from the heat. "You have to show them!"
I show my right arm and show the small flower on the outside of my wrist and then lift my shirt to show the moon and stars on my left rib.
"I have two Adinkra symbols." Daisy lifts her two hands and first points to her right wrist. "This is Aya, it means endurance and resourcefulness." She points the her left wrist. "And this is Dwennimmen, it means humility with strength."
"Those are so cool!" Scott takes a closer look at Daisy's tattoos. "What about you, Jamie?"
"You're going to laugh, but I have this wave on my finger" she shows the side of her left middle finger "and this fish." She turn her head to show a tiny clown fish behind her right ear.
"Oh my God! How did I not know you had the fish one?" I jump to take a better look at it.
"I don't know." She shrugs.
"You guys, we found Nemo!" Daisy yells and it just shows her state of sobriety.
Jamie rolls her eyes. "Anyway, never have I ever cheated on someone." Nobody does a thing. "Awn, we're all honest people." We all laugh.
"Never have I ever dined and dashed." I say on my turn. No one moves, but after a few seconds Daisy slowly reaches for her shot.

"Never have I ever kissed a girl." Jess speaks and the rest of us get punished.
"Well, never have I ever had sex with a girl." Daisy says after she downs her shot. Only Jess doesn't drink. "Allison! Why don't I know this?" Her eyes go so wide I'm afraid the might fall out of her face.
"You know I like girls."
"Yes, but not that you had sex with one!"
"It's not like I go around telling everyone about my sex life!"
"I'm not everyone! I'm your best friend!"
"Ok, but now you know I've had sex with girls. Get over it."
"Girls?! As is more than one?"
"Can we talk about this later?" I look around and the other three are watching us. Jess and Scott seem as shocked as Daisy, but Jamie is smiling. "What? Is something wrong?" The two shake their heads and Jamie laughs.
"Girls are Heaven sent." Jamie speaks and I smile as I nod.
"Anyway." Scott says. "Never have I ever really watched trash TV."
"But The Batchelor is so good!" Daisy complains and takes a shot with Jess.
"It's definitely not." Jamie laughs.
I wake up the next morning and look around. I see Jess, Daisy and Scott are still passed out on the floor. I slept on Jess' bed because I wasn't going to ignore an empty bed.
Jamie comes out of the bathroom and smiles when she sees I'm awake. "Good morning."
"Morning." I stretch and yawn. "I'm hungry, should we wake them for breakfast?"
"Let them sleep. Jess is kinda scary when someone wakes her up."
"Ok." I laugh and get up.
Jamie turns around and gets something from desk while I put my pants back on so we can head to the dining hall. We stay silent the whole way there.

"So" Jamie says when I sit at our table with my breakfast. "What are we doing on Valentine's day?"
"What do you mean?"
"What are we doing on Valentine's day?" She repeats slowly. "It's in two weeks. Are we going out, watching some movies, yelling at couples walking around campus...?" I laugh.
"We're not doing anything. If you want to do something go ahead, but I'll stay in."
"Nope. I'm not letting you just sit around. I'm giving you the opportunity to choose, because if you don't, I'll just ask Daisy and only God knows what she's going plan."
"Oh God! Don't ask her! You know she'll say we have to go to some singles party and hook up with people or something." I pause to imagine what that would be like and wince at the thought. "You are not going to talk to her. Promise me."
"Ok, but you have to decide what we'll do."
"No parties, that's for sure. I don't want to be in the middle of that kind of insanity." She giggles. "And we're definitely not yelling at people."
"Shit. That was my favorite option." She sighs.
"Shut up." I laugh. "I like the movie idea."
"It's settled then. Movie night for Valentine's."
"It might actually get my mind off of all the tests I'll have on the week after."
"My plan is to ignore it while I'm not studying 'cause I might have a mental breakdown if I keep thinking about them."
Both of our phones buzz on the table and I pick it up.

We keep talking about our tests until Daisy arrives. "Did you guys see them? I looked around the dorm while I was coming, but didn't find them."
"Nope." I look around. "Maybe they didn't see we were already here."
"Oh well. When Jess sees our texts she'll let us know." Daisy shrugs. "But now I'm getting some food because breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day."
"I think the saying is 'the most important' not 'one of'." Jamie says.
"I said what I said. Lunch and dinner are very important too. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go." Daisy turns around and leaves.
We both laugh and resume our meals. Daisy comes back and joins the conversation. After a few minutes Jess shows up.
"Hey, where were you?" Daisy asks.
"Scott asked me to help him with some things he had to take to his place." She sits at the table.
"What kind of things?" Jamie asks.
"Just... things. Some books and other stuff."
"But why did he ask you specifically?" Daisy asks.
"'Cause you were still sleeping and Allie and Jamie weren't there."
"Ok, then." Daisy takes a bite of her food. "Anyways. I was telling these two why all meals are important."
