《Princess of Peace [BNHA]》Chapter Forty Five

~Amy's POV~

I texted Dad right after I got a copy of my license and sent him a picture of it. He was still avoiding me and had been busy with Naomasa nearly every day since the movie. I couldn't help but feel a little discouraged as I held my breath and waited staring intently at my screen waiting for him to respond.

Nothing.

I frequently checked my phone throughout the evening feeling more discouraged with every glance at the unread message. As I was getting ready for bed I kept checking to make sure the volume on my phone was on so I'd be sure to hear when he responded. After changing into a baby blue nightgown with sheer sleeves and crawling into bed, I took one last look at my phone.

Nothing.

Trying to convince myself he was busy and that I shouldn't worry, I settled back against the super fluffy cloudlike pillows. I picked up each of the plushies atop my bed, gave them each a squeeze before grabbing them all at once and holding them against me while I attempted to sleep.

'Tap'

What was that?

'Tap'

It sounded like someone was hitting the balcony window. I warily rolled over in bed and looked over at my balcony preparing myself for the heart attack that would surely follow if I saw someone standing on my balcony. Luckily, there wasn't anyone there. As I was looking at the balcony I noticed a tiny pebble smack against the glass with another tap.

Wanting nothing more than to take my army of plushies with me, I reluctantly released my plushie pile and crept toward my balcony. A gasp escaped me as I spotted Shinso standing on the lawn below with a hand full of pebbles preparing to throw another. The balcony doors slid open as I activated my quirk. I stepped into the cool night air and leaned over the railing.

"Hitoshi? Is everything okay?" I asked worriedly.

"Come down here." He called back up to me softly,

"B-but it's after curfew." I squeaked.

Shinso chuckled, "we're not going anywhere, just come down here."

"Okay." I scurried back inside, stepped into a pair of slippers and hurried out of my room. Careful to be as quiet as possible so as not to wake any of my possibly sleeping classmates, I made my way outside, meeting Shinso on the front terrace.

He chuckled as he took one look at me, "jeez Princess Scaredy Cat, could you get any cuter?"

I looked down at my somewhat frilly nightgown and blushed. "D-don't be mean!" I uselessly attempted to cover myself.

He chuckled and pulled me to the far end of the terrace. My heart started to race as he pulled me into the darkened corner. My pounding heart calmed a little as I realized he'd pulled me into the dark corner because that was where the bench was and he apparently thought I needed to sit down.

I took a seat on the bench.

Shinso sat beside me and turned his deep indigo eyes on me, "the test was today, right? How'd it go?"

I felt a strange fluttering in my chest. After getting zero response from dad, though I knew he was probably busy and it wasn't his fault in any way, it felt nice that someone else who hadn't been there was interested to know how it had gone. I couldn't help but smile at him, "I kept my promise... I didn't give up...I'm a hero now..well sorta...in emergency situations...I got my license." I stammered helplessly.

Shinso smiled and my heart fluttered once more as he caught my hands in his, "I never doubted you."

Tears welled in my eyes, "thanks for believing in me, Hitoshi."

"Back at ya, Princess Scaredy Cat." He smirked.

A single tear slipped from my hold.

"How come you don't seem that happy?" He frowned and tenderly wiped away the tear that had fallen.

"It's silly." I blushed.

"I don't doubt that." He snickered, "but it's upsetting you, so tell me."

"I texted Dad right after the exam...but he still hasn't said anything." I murmured. "I was just really hoping to make him proud and it's a bit discouraging that he's been too busy to check his phone."

Shinso draped an arm across my shoulders and I leaned into his warmth not realizing how chilly it had been outside. "I don't think that's silly. I don't think you should worry about it so much but it's not silly. Besides, you already know he's proud of you." He gave me a gentle squeeze.

"I know."

"And for what it's worth, I'm proud of you too." He murmured, his cheeks reddened a little and he looked away from me.

"Thanks Hitoshi...it's worth a lot." I smiled, it was worth more than he knew.

He turned back to me and my heart started to race as he placed a hand to the side of my face pulling my gaze to his. I felt a nervous anticipation well up inside of me as he suddenly leaned toward me. My heart was pounding so loud I was sure he could hear it. As he leaned toward me, the front door suddenly burst open, causing us both to jump.

I opened my mouth to let out a panicked yelp, but Shinso suddenly pulled me into his arms, clapping a hand over my mouth to silence me. My heart thundered as I found myself sitting on his lap with my back pressed firmly against his chest.

"Sh." He breathed in my ear, sending a shiver down my spine.

I nodded my understanding before freezing.

Bakugo and Midoriya exited the dorm building in a tense silence. Where were they going so late? It was after curfew, we weren't supposed to leave the dorm. I mentally kicked myself, I had left the dorm after curfew, but I was still on the terrace, which was still connected to the building. I wanted to call out to them, but Shinso's hand over my mouth made it difficult.

Once they were out of sight, Shinso released me from his hold. "I'd leave it alone, if I were you." He murmured.

"But, it looked like they were going to fight." I paled.

"Exactly why you should leave it alone." Shinso pointed.

"But-."

"They're going to do it anyway, it'll just upset you to see it." He frowned.

"What if they get hurt?" I protested.

"It's not like they'd kill each other, I'm sure it'll be fine." He looked over at me before letting out a sigh as he took note of the worry written all over my face, "I guess we're going?"

"You're coming with me?" I asked in awe.

"Last I checked, Princesses were afraid of the dark and not supposed to leave the castle without at least one knight." He got to his feet and offered me his hand.

"Thanks Hitoshi." I beamed as I slipped my hand in his.

He pulled me to my feet and released my hand from his hold so he could drape his arm across my shoulders, "next time, we go on an after curfew adventure, you should dress warmer." He chuckled, "though I don't mind this."

I felt my face burn hot at this. "Next time? Hitoshi, we shouldn't be out after curfew at all."

"Yet, here we are." He chuckled.

We headed in the direction Bakugo and Midoriya had gone.

"Jeez, how far were those idiots planning on going?" Shinso grumbled as we soon found ourselves halfway across campus without spotting them.

I thought of the first hero training class we'd had. Where Midoriya and Bakugo had fought in our first hero exercise with Dad. "I think I know where they're going." They were going to Ground Beta.

Shinso sighed, "I might have to smack the idiots around."

"Wh-what?!" I squeaked.

"They upset you." Shinso grumbled as he glanced at the worry and panic on my face.

An explosion sounded from the direction of Ground Beta and I felt all the color drain from my face. It sounded like they were fighting seriously! "We need to hurry!" I panicked and took off running. I couldn't bear it if either of them got hurt. Tears fell as I thought of finding them both injured or worse.

"Damn it, I'm going to kill them." Shinso muttered under his breath as he raced after me.

I could hear them screaming at each other in the distance and ran as fast as my legs would take me. There were explosions and loud crashes happening at such frequent intervals, I knew their fight had to be intense.

I burst down the street where they were fighting just as they both attempted to launch massive attacks at one another, the collision impact would seriously hurt both of them! "NO! PLEASE! STOP!" I shrieked and suddenly my quirk went berserk as in that moment it was as if I had never wanted anything more in my life than for them to stop fighting and both be free of harm.

Shinso swore under his breath as the ground beneath us seemed to break apart centering around me. "Amy!" The crater swelled in size and I finally felt as if I were one with the terrifying power locked inside of me.It burst out of me, like a shockwave of destructive force.

The buildings all around us were suddenly shoved back with such force they crumbled and broke apart. The destruction spread all the way down the street before Bakugo and Midoriya suddenly froze in place, completely unable to move as I managed to catch them with my quirk.

Shinso caught me in his arms as my knees buckled. He stared at the leveled cityscape all around us in awe. "Amy?" He shook me gently in his arms.

I had a splitting headache and clenched my eyes tightly shut. I felt blood drip from my ears and splash onto the sheer material over my shoulders, instantly seeping through.

"Amy?!" Shinso panicked as he cradled me in his arms.

"AMY!" I heard Bakugo and Midoriya yell for me. Their voices weren't getting any closer and I realized they were still being held in my quirk.

Shinso cradled me in his arms, "hey, don't you dare die on me." His voice cracked.

I could feel the blood now dripping down my arms, there was a lot of it. I understood his worry and tried to reassure him, but felt too weak. I weakly gripped the front of his shirt.

"AMY!" That sounded like Dad.

Shinso shifted me gently, placing me over his shoulder so he could climb out of the crater. I struggled to open my eyes and stared at the destruction around me in terror. All of Ground Beta had been completely leveled. Not a single structure was standing. I saw my dad running in my direction and in the distance I saw Bakugo and Midoriya frozen in mid air poised as if they were about to hit each other, I'd stopped them just in time. They both looked a little beat up but nothing too serious. I breathed a sigh of relief and set them down before slipping from consciousness.

.......

I came to consciousness in Recovery Girl's office to the sound of Mr. Aizawa yelling. "You fought the night you finished the hero licensing exam? I'm glad to see that you two have so much energy." His voice sounded more menacing than I'd ever heard it.

I opened my eyes and turned my head to see Bakugo and Midoriya restrained in Mr. Aizawa's scarf on the other two beds in the room. A squeak of terror escaped me as I saw the terrifying expression on Mr. Aizawa's face.

Everyone turned to me and suddenly all of the hostility and tension in the room turned into relief. "Amy!" Dad reached me first.

He swept me into his arms. "Are you alright?"

I nodded. I felt perfectly fine. My quirk didn't tire me out as much as it used to and I had a feeling the only reason I'd blacked out was because I'd used it so much earlier in the day during the exam and then used it at full power to stop the fight.

"Where's Hitoshi?" I asked as I realized he wasn't here.

"Back at his dorm. We'll get to that in a minute." Mr. Aizawa grumbled, though his voice was nowhere near as scary as it had been just moments before. He turned back on Midoriya and Bakugo, "which of you idiots threw the first punch?"

"I did." Bakugo admitted.

"I also went pretty hard it wasn't just him." Midoriya piped up.

"You're both on house arrest!" Mr. Aizawa snapped as he finally released them from his scarf, "four days for Bakugo, three for Midoriya. During that time you'll clean all of the common areas in the dorm morning and night. Plus, I want a written apology!"

They both accepted their punishment quietly.

Mr. Aizawa turned to me, "as for you." His voice was once again softer than when he'd been yelling at Bakugo and Midoriya.

I let out a faint squeak of terror.

He appeared to be struggling.

"Mr. Aizawa?" Midoriya looked at him worriedly.

Bakugo suddenly smirked, "you can't do it."

Mr. Aizawa looked away from me, choosing a point on the wall above and behind me to focus on, but that didn't appear to help him.

"Aizawa?" Dad asked, confused.

Mr. Aizawa dropped his head into his hands and let out a long sigh, "damn it." He muttered under his breath before looking back at me, "you're making me cat pancakes, and I want a written apology for breaking the curfew." He grumbled.

"I knew it." Bakugo scoffed.

"You want to make it five days?" Mr. Aizawa snapped at him.

Bakugo smirked but said nothing more.

"I'm done. All of you go back to the dorm and go straight to bed!" He snapped.

"Ah, I'd like to have a word with them first. I'll make sure they get back to their dorm." Dad said quietly.

Mr. Aizawa grumbled something that didn't sound very nice before exiting the room angrily.

"I heard what you two said during the fight." Dad said morosely, he still hadn't released me from his hold.

Bakugo looked down at his clenched fists.

"I think it's time to clear a few things up." He squeezed me gently.

He explained everything about One for All to me and Bakugo, though I'd already worked a lot of it out on my own. Bakugo assured him he'd keep his secret. As Dad talked about his mentor, who'd passed One for All down to him he paused.

"I must ask you boys to keep another secret for me." Dad said solemnly before looking down at me, "the news I'd gotten, the night of the movie." He paused. "Ayumi, Amy's mother, was my mentor's daughter..."

I gasped. Mom never knew her biological family. She'd only ever known her adopted family, but they died shortly before she moved to the states. Though she hadn't known her true identity, my mother had admired her greatly and somehow this news was comforting that all along, even if she didn't know it, my mother had got to be with her real mother and spend time with her. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because, I was hesitant to reveal this next piece of information to you...Ayumi wasn't Nana's only child. She had a son several years later and put him into foster care and his only surviving child is-." Dad hesitated.

"Who is it?" Bakugo growled, growing impatient.

"Shigaraki."

The scars across my neck began to itch at the mention of him. I unconsciously placed a hand to my neck. "W-what?"

"Why are you telling us this, All Might?" Midoriya asked.

"I think it's possible someone out there knows of this connection, possibly Shigaraki himself and I'm worried for Amy's safety." Dad admitted quietly.

Bakugo scoffed at this, "she just leveled a small city. Best of luck to any moron that thinks they can try anything."

I was too focused on the fact that Shigaraki and I were cousins to listen any further to what they were saying.
