~Amy's POV~

On the morning of the Hero License Exam, I woke up super early (or more accurately, I took a 2 hour power nap, had a nightmare and gave up on sleep for the rest of the night). Since I was awake before anyone else, I decided to make a healthy breakfast for everyone. As I was finishing chopping up an array of fruit for snacking, my classmates began dwindling down to the common area.

"Amy's breakfast is the best!" Ashido squealed as she shoved past a groggy Sero and Kaminari and threw her arms around me.

I offered her a bright smile, "good morning, Mina."

"You spoil us too much, Amy." Sato said as he discovered the sugary donuts I'd baked specially for him since sugar helped with his quirk.

"Thanks Amy." Koda said in his super soft voice as he spotted a bowl set aside for Yuwai-chan with blueberries and cut up bell peppers. Blueberries were her favorite snack.

I smiled as he snuck back upstairs to give it to her.

"This had to have taken quite some time, you prepared something different for everyone." Tokoyami commented as he saw the fresh baked apple turnovers I'd made for him, since apples were his favorite food.

"What time did you wake up?" Toru asked in awe.

Everyone looked at me curiously.

"...two..."

"What?!" Everyone panicked.

I shuffled my foot nervously and avoided looking at all my worried classmates, "I couldn't sleep."

"Aw, you should have come to my room, we could have had a sleepover." Ashido squeezed me again.

"R-really?" I squeaked. Sleepovers hadn't really worked out well in the past for me, but I knew I could sleep easier with my friends around.

"Of course." Ashido reassured me.

"Same goes for me." Jiro smiled.

"And me." Yaoyorozu agreed.

"Me too!" Toru cheered.

"Ditto." Uraraka beamed.

"Same here, ribbit." Asui smiled.

"You can come to my room any-." Mineta began but was suddenly wrapped in tape.

"NO!" Everyone else shouted so violently, I jumped.

"What the hell did you say, Lumpy?" Bakugo roared and nearly leapt over the table at Mineta.

Luckily Kaminari and Kirishima grabbed hold of him in time to keep him from attacking Mineta. I looked at all my angry classmates curiously.

"Katsuki." I piped up softly worried for Kaminari and Kirishima's safety as they appeared to be struggling to keep him back.

His crimson gaze flicked in my direction.

I held up the plate of spicy breakfast hash I'd made for him since he liked spicy foods. "For you." I smiled.

His cheeks reddened and he shoved Kaminari and Kirishima away from him before stomping over to me. He took the plate from my hands, his face still glowing, "...thanks..."

I smiled.

Everyone eventually found their own personalized breakfast and we all sat down to eat together. Mr. Aizawa showed up halfway through breakfast to make sure we were all awake and ready to head to the bus to take us to the exam. A plate with cat face shaped pancakes and an array of fresh fruit drifted in his direction.

He caught it and threw me a sharp look. "I assume you're responsible for all of this?" He motioned to the spread of food.

I nodded meekly.

"And how long did this all take?" He frowned though looked like he was trying very hard not to smile at the cat shaped pancakes on his plate once he looked down.

"...not long..." I squeaked.

"You made me a quiche." Yaoyorozu pointed with a frown, "I know that takes a while."

Mr. Aizawa threw me a scolding look. I bowed my head and shrank back. He let out a sigh before joining us at the table, dropping into the seat next to me. "Quit overdoing it." He grumbled.

"S-sorry."

"How did you even get these into this shape?" He asked; it sounded like he was now straining to keep his voice stern.

I pointed to a clear bottle atop the counter that I'd used to put the pancake batter in so I could draw out the shape I wanted. He muttered something like 'of course' under his breath before begrudgingly taking a bite. Everyone looked at him curiously.

"How is it?' I asked nervously.

"It's perfect." He grumbled, still trying to keep his voice sterner than usual.

Ashido giggled beside me, "Amy's cooking is the best."

After breakfast everyone else insisted on cleaning up and told me to relax. I sat with Mr. Aizawa while everyone cleaned up. Once the cleanup was done, we all followed Mr. Aizawa to the bus to take us to the exam. Somehow, I found myself seated between Shoto and Katsuki. They both shot a single scowl at one another but said nothing.

A yellow sleeping bag suddenly flew in my direction, and would have smacked me in the face if Shoto and Katsuki hadn't reached up simultaneously to catch it. "Amy, get some sleep." Mr. Aizawa ordered.

"O-okay." I squeaked and draped the sleeping bag over top of me.

"You can lean on me." Shoto and Katsuki said simultaneously before glaring menacingly at one another. Kirishima and Kaminari choked on laughter in the seat behind us.

I sank lower into my seat and buried my face with my hands. Despite how fast my heart was racing and how nervous and anxious I felt, I somehow managed to fall asleep between them.

I came to as the bus slowed to a stop. My face exploded with heat as I realized I was now somehow laying across both Shoto and Katsuki's laps and I bolted up with a squeak. "I-I'm s-sorry!" I blushed.

"You didn't do it." Kirishima snickered behind me.

"H-huh?"

"You fell because you didn't lean on me like I told you to!" Katsuki snapped at me.

"But...how did I-?"

"We moved you." Shoto said as if it were obvious.

"O-oh." My face was so hot I was sure it could cook an egg. "Thank you for looking after me... sorry for the trouble." I bowed my head.

I returned the sleeping bag to Mr. Aizawa as we all filed off the bus. As we all got off the bus, the nerves seemed to hit.

"Ugh, I'm getting kinda nervous." Jiro murmured.

Mineta was pacing back and forth nervously, "I wonder what they're gonna make us do? Ugh. What if I can't get my license?"

"Mineta." Mr. Aizawa stopped him mid panicked ramble, "don't ask if you can. Say you will."

"Right! Sure! I've so got this!" He attempted to psych himself up.

"I believe in you, Mineta." I offered him a bright smile.

"There's no way I'm failing now!" Mineta cried dramatically.

"If you can pass this test and get your provisional licenses, then you novice eggs will hatch into chicks. You'll be semi-pros. I expect your best." Aizawa addressed us all seriously.

"All right. I can't wait to be a heroic chicken." Kaminari beamed.

"Let's call out the usual, you guys," Kirishima tried to get everyone else fired up and yell the school motto, "on my mark." He grinned, "Go Plus-!"

"ULTRA!" An unfamiliar voice that had somehow invaded our group sounded from behind me and I let out a panicked scream as my frayed nerves seemed to shred away.

I grabbed the person closest to me in my panicked state, which happened to be a startled Tokoyami. He wrapped his arms around me and held me protectively as my body started shaking.

"Amy!" All the girls panicked.

Upon realizing he'd startled me, the intense newcomer dropped into such a low bow I thought his back might snap. His head cracked the pavement and blood began to stream down his forehead. "I! AM! SO! VERY! EXTREMELY! SORRY!" He yelled.

His loud harsh voice made me cower.

Tokoyami hugged me tighter while someone else reached up to cover my ears in an attempt to help.

"Who is this guy?!" Kaminari panicked, "I do not trust his enthusiasm."

"Ah! C'mon Bakugo, you can't blow him up." Kirishima sounded like he was struggling with an irate Katsuki who let out a roar of rage at the newcomer's very loud intrusion.

Once the loud boy left with his classmates, I relaxed and took a shaky step away from Tokoyami. "I-I'm s-sorry, Tokoyami." I squeaked.

"It's alright, I'm happy I could return the favor." He gave me a reassuring pat on the head as another class from a different school approached us.

Their instructor seemed to be close to Aizawa. She had a fun bubbly personality and kept calling Mr. Aizawa her future husband which he didn't seem thrilled about. Izuku said her name was Miss Joke. I didn't catch most of the interaction as I was still trying to calm myself down from my earlier panic.

After they headed inside, we went to change into our hero costumes and met the other exam takers in a giant hall. My heart pounded in my chest, there were so many people! Mera, the man at the very front of the room standing (well slouching) behind a podium looked like he was in desperate need of a week of sleep. There were over 1500 people in the room. The man at the front of the room announced only 100 people would pass the first test.

Each of us were given three targets to place on our body and six balls. In order to pass we had to knock two people out by hitting their last target. I didn't like it. In order to pass you had to crush the dreams of two people. As I was contemplating this very sad thought, a hand clapped down on my shoulder.

I jumped and turned to see Katsuki scowling at me. "W-what?" I squeaked.

"There's no reason you shouldn't be the first one to pass this, if you're not the first person to pass this round, you're answering to me." He snarled.

"B-But, I can help all of you." I protested.

"Nah, Bakugo's right Amy, you better pass this thing in like a second or I'll be pretty upset too." Kirishima added.

Everyone else agreed.

Not wanting to let my friends down, I reluctantly agreed to their pressuring. "O-okay."

I realized they were all doing it so I wouldn't have a chance to be scared by anyone else. I bowed my head accepting their decision, even though I didn't like the idea of leaving them all behind. "You guys better be right behind me." I sniffled.

"Aw! My heart." Kaminari swooned.

"We'll be right behind you!" Ashido reassured me.

Katsuki split off from the group with Kirishima. Shoto went off on his own and the others stayed in a group and moved away leaving me on my own out in the open. I nervously shuffled my foot in the dirt. The room we'd been in before had opened up into a massive arena. There were different terrains all across the arena, a cityscape, mountains, an industrial park and more. I could hear voices of people approaching.

A voice rang over a speaker system announcing the first test had begun. I activated my quirk as ten people suddenly jumped out and tried to eliminate me. I caught all of them and the balls they'd thrown at me with my quirk. My hair fluttered behind me as my quirk activated. The six balls I'd been given rocketed to all three targets of the first two people that had tried to target me.

The voice of the tired man who'd greeted us, Mera, sounded throughout the arena just after the buzzer finished ringing signaling the start of the first test. "...uh...that was...unexpected. A new record has been set, the first student to pass in .06 seconds."

The three targets I'd stuck to me suddenly glowed a pale blue and a voice chimed that I had passed and was to retreat to the anteroom. I dropped into a bow to the students who'd tried to ambush me as I released them from my hold. "I'm so sorry." I squeaked before scrambling away. "Good luck." I waved to the ones who I hadn't eliminated from the test.

"Oh my god, she's so cute."

"I'm not even mad about being out."

I hurriedly exited the field and headed for the anteroom. It was a spacious room filled with various chairs. There was a table with snacks laid out and beverages. I took a seat at one of the chairs at the back of the room and folded my hands in my lap waiting for my classmates. It wasn't too long of a wait before the next person to pass stepped into the room.

I paled as I spotted the loud boy from earlier. His eyes locked on me and he opened his mouth to no doubt shout something at me. I gripped the edge of my seat tightly and my entire body grew tense. His mouth opened and my quirk suddenly went berserk. All the chairs around me lifted off the ground, and all the glittery butterflies attached to my half cape suddenly took flight.

He took note of my tense posture and all the objects in the room now starting to lift off the ground and closed his mouth. I relaxed and returned everything to its rightful place. Realizing that had been a horrendously rude reaction, I bowed my head apologetically. "S-sorry." I murmured softly.

"Did you say something?!" He appeared before me, I wasn't sure if he was yelling or if that was just his natural setting.

I jumped in terror. My quirk activated reflexively and he was suddenly pelted by a bunch of blue butterflies. "AH! I'm so sorry!" I yelped.

He laughed, it was a loud booming laugh that had me even more on edge than before. "Not to worry! It was my fault for startling you!"

I wanted to point out that he was STILL startling me, but held my tongue and returned to gripping the edge of my seat begging for anyone else to pass the exam so I could escape this terrifying individual.

He noticed my tense posture and took a few steps back before continuing his yelling, "what did you say?"

"...that I was sorry..." I squeaked and kept looking frantically at the door praying for one of my classmates to come to my rescue.

"Before that!" He yelled in a strangely friendly manner.

"...sorry...again..."

"Why?!"

"....because it was terribly rude of me to react that way..." I murmured.

He smiled, it was terrifying. "No harm done!"

Why was he screaming at me?!

"Your Old Man is very passionate and a great hero. Bad heroes make terrible kids, good heroes probably make great kids, so I knew you couldn't be bad!" He yelled.

I didn't quite follow his logic but nodded in hopes agreeing with him would make him stop screaming as I was pretty sure I was about to have a heart attack.

"Your name is Amelia?! Right?!"

I nodded frantically.

"I'm Inasa Yoarashi! It's a pleasure to meet you!" He was in front of me once more and shook my hand with an aggressive enthusiasm. I was worried he'd dislocated my shoulder.

"N-nice to m-meet y-you." I squeaked in terror.

More people started to file into the room and he aggressively went to introduce himself to them. I nearly fainted from relief and quickly sank back into my seat. After a while I spotted a familiar head of two toned hair and bolted for the door.

"Shoto!" I cried.

He looked up in awe as I ran to him. I threw my arms around him not realizing how tense and scared I'd been, on my own and after the assault on my eardrums and psyche from Yoarashi. Shoto caught me in his arms and gave me a gentle squeeze. "Are you alright?"

"I am now." I relaxed against him, feeling all the terror and tension that had been coiling inside of me begin to ease.

He steered me away from the other students who'd passed and sat me down at the row of chairs before dropping into the chair beside me. His heterochromatic gaze swept the room and landed on Yoarashi. I noticed Yoarashi glare in Shoto's direction before looking away.

"You trembling have anything to do with the loud guy?" Shoto pondered.

I nodded, "...it's not his fault...I don't think he has any other volumes."

Shoto threw me a curious look.

"He was polite...just loud..."

Shoto nodded and draped an arm across my shoulders offering me warmth and comfort. I leaned against him and let my eyes drift closed as we waited for the rest of our class. Before I knew it, I'd drifted to sleep with my head on his shoulder. At some point I thought I heard Katsuki yelling but there were a few other voices trying to quiet him down.

I eventually woke to Yaoyorozu gently gripping my hand and speaking in a calming voice, "Amy? The next test is about to begin."

I stirred awake and realized I'd been moved and was now covered with a blanket Yaoyorozu made. All of my classmates were close by. "Thanks, Momo-chan." My cheeks flushed as I sat upright, feeling embarrassed and a little guilty for troubling my classmates.

Yaoyorozu's cheeks reddened a little, "anytime." She offered me a hand up and helped me to my feet.

Once upright I smoothed out the sheer skirt of my costume and returned all of the butterflies to my costume using my quirk to keep them in place so it looked like they were part of my cape.

"I'm glad you listened to us and finished super fast." Ashido looped her arm through mine, "there was a huge battle royale at the end, and it probably would have made you uncomfortable." She gave my arm a gentle squeeze.

"And that guy that turned Bakugo and Kirishima into disgusting meat blobs would have given you nightmares." Kaminari added with a shiver, "I might have nightmares."

"W-what?!" I squealed and hurriedly looked for Katsuki, "are you okay?!"

Katsuki shot a glare at Kaminari causing him to let out a panicked yelp before his crimson gaze fell on me, "I'm fine. It wasn't a big deal." He grumbled and steered me to the next room where we were to be informed about the second test.

The same tired man, Mera, from before, addressed us and had us turn our attention to the screen. We saw the test area we'd just left. Suddenly the buildings began to explode and structures began to break apart and fall. Our mission was to rescue the bystanders trapped in the disaster sites. He told us to treat it as if it were the real thing.

I pondered his words as we waited for the second test to begin. Closing my eyes, I focused and told myself there were people in danger, innocent people who needed help. I slipped into a trancelike state blocking out everything else around me, even though it sounded like some of my classmates were getting riled up about something. I managed to block it all out and focus.

A loud bell rang and Mera's voice sounded over the speaker system once more, "villains have performed a large scale terrorist attack spanning across all of insert city name here. Since most buildings have collapsed, there are many injured. Due to heavily damaged roads, the first responders have unfortunately been delayed for the time being." The walls of the anteroom began to break apart and we found ourselves in the middle of the massive testing area once more. "Until emergency services arrive, the heroes in the area will lead the rescue efforts. Your task is to save as many people as you can and help the injured. And with that...BEGIN!"

Everyone took off running. Since I'd been training with Bakugo every night after dinner, I had noticed some improvement in my speed and stamina. I was able to keep up with my classmates. "We should come up with a plan of action." I called to my classmates.

"I've got a plan." Mineta offered.

Sero prepared to wrap him in tape.

"Wait! Wait! I mean it! Hear me out!" Mineta cried.

I noticed Bakugo had already broken away from the group with Kirishima and Kaminari. It would have been nice if he'd stayed so we could all work together.

"What's your plan Mineta?" Izuku asked.

"We send Amy in first. She's the first person the civilians see, every time." Mineta looked at me with a strange smile.
