《Stoned is Angel's Grace》Pancakes Shouldn't Be Eaten Alone

"What the Hell do you mean? We have to save me?" Gabriel yells, "it all makes perfect sense. Going back to the mystery spot, the first place I dropped in was Sun n' Sands hotel, which is where you threw me in TV Land. The notes were leading us... to you," Sam explains. "... And I die in the future, right? So I get killed by my big bro, and get turned to stone. Now that's happy family right there," the Archangel says.
"Hey, can you get me outta here?" He adds as he looks around at the holy fire. "Oh yeah, right," Sam gets the nearby hose (there's a reason they picked here to trap the angels) and extinguishes the flames.
"We should head back and talk more," Sam offers. Gabriel nods and they set off in silence, an air of uneasiness had fallen over the two.
They reach their room and had not said a word, both mulling over their new found answer, and their new found questions.
"So I die, turn to stone, then some years later I zap you to 2009?"
"I think, yeah..."
"Okay, but why would I wait? And why would I pick you to save me? And who is future weeping angel me working with to send notes to us? Not to mention, how'd they know where we'd be at which time? Have we gone through this before?" Gabriel sits on his bed, his mind racing. "That would explain all the pain I feel when the helpful one is around. It's just my dead Grace burning out the living Grace," he utters.
"If you are the stone angel helping us and giving us notes, then who is trying to save you from the future? Because obviously they care a whole awful lot," Sam comments. "Who would want to save me?" Gabriel whispers, Sam hears him though.
"You know, since I met you at Crawford Hall, I hated you. Well, more like when I found out you were the Trickster, that's when I started hating you. You were pretty cool before you tried to kill me. Then mystery spot happened, don't get me started on how much I hated you after that. Of course, a couple of years later, we meet again and you throw me in TV Land to convince me and Dean of saying yes to Michael and Lucifer. After that I wasn't sure that I could hate you more. But then a few months later, Dean and I were captured by some Pagan Gods, and you show up, and you tried. You tried to save us, and you did. Not to mention that you gave us the key to trapping Lucifer back in the Cage."
"I'm sorry, but what is the point of this story?"

"The point is, you've done some really shitty things, like really shitty, but. But you can do some good too. The point is, you're worth saving. I can see why someone is going to the trouble of saving you. And I'm hating you less, I was pretty reluctant on having you help me, but you've been useful. You've been a friend too. I have to admit though, the last person I'd expect to become friends with is you."
"Thanks for that little speech Shakespeare, it was poetic. But I really have no idea on who'd want me around. I was just a Trickster to everyone, Loki to others though. Still, who'd want Loki around?"
"Loki is a little shit."
"I'm right here. And that statement just backtracks on everything you just said."
"Another thing. You're not A Trickster. You're THE Trickster, only one I've come across, and the only one worth remembering as far as I'm concerned."
"You feeling okay there kiddo? These compliments are just falling from your mouth," Gabriel inquires with a raised eyebrow. "I'm fine, really. You're just more important than you think you are," Sam responds. "Yeah, okay. Anyway, back to the issue at hand. Future me, weeping angel me, is working with someone who wants to save me. The question is: who and why? Also, when?" Gabriel looks at Sam oddly, who is sitting and typing at his laptop.
"So get this, there's this ancient idea that when angel die outside of Heaven, their Grace has nothing to cling to stay alive. So when it has nothing to cling to,;it clings to itself. But in its panic to stay alive, it turns to stone in order to preserve itself. But this idea was abandoned long ago, but it sounds like our situation," Sam announces.
Gabriel moves off the bed to look over Sam's shoulder. "If that's the truth, then who scrapped it? Wait. No angels had died outside of Heaven, except one. Dad wanted to show everyone what happens to those who rebel, but Lucifer did anyway, and look where that got him. But Dad made a really good example, guess someone found out, and Dad shut 'em up." Gabriel contributes, huh, a little Heaven history lesson for you.
"So that's my future. My Grace panics and turns itself to stone. But you know when I'm going to die right? So just make sure I don't die," the Trickster adds. " I don't think it'll be that easy. You seemed Hell-bent on facing your brother," Sam scoffs. "Well I'll just remember that certain death is coming for me, and I won't face good ol' Luci. Easy," Gabriel announces. Sam rolls his eyes, but he thinks. What really did make Gabriel want to face his brother?
The Trickster moves away and leaves Sam with his laptop.

"I'm stepping out for pancakes, want to come with?" The Trickster announces, Sam turns in his chair. "Can't you snap up some pancakes here?" He quizzes, Gabriel sighs as if Sam should know the answer. "Diner made are the best," he answers. "So are you coming or what?" He adds, his hand is on the door nob, ready to leave. "Nah, I'll just stay here. Try to get to the bottom of this. Not to mention we also have to figure out who will die if you're saved," Sam responds. "Ah, well your loss. Later bucko," Gabriel walks out of the motel room, Sam stretches and turns back to his computer.
------
Gabriel orders his pancakes and glances around the diner, he keeps an eye out for any unwanted company. Soon enough, the waitress returns with a plate of pancakes covered in maple syrup and blueberries. The Trickster smiles his thanks and begins eating.
He thinks about the current situation and their recent discoveries, then his mind wanders over to how he's going to die and become a weeping angel if he isn't saved. But then his mind goes to Sam and his speech about Gabriel. Were they actually becoming friends? The thing is, Gabriel never hated Sam, he always had a soft spot for the moose. But by the way Sam spoke, it was so obvious that Sam hated him, and all the Trickster wanted to do was help the idiotic moose! But when Sam was saying the end of his little speech, there was a kindness to his words. Perhaps his feelings have truly shifted about the Trickster. Maybe, Sam truly believed that he should be saved.
Gabriel reaches the end of his pancakes and he pays, he leaves the premises. He wanders down the street, the stars were only just beginning to shine through. The air was crisp and cold, people had begun hurrying home to warmth.
There's a high pitched giggle near Gabriel, he spins around to look for the source. Nothing. He shrugs it off and keeps walking, then he hears it again. He spins around to see a single stone cherub behind him. "You S O B," he whispers, he keeps his eyes on the stone.
There's another sound behind him, he turns to see a weeping angel standing before him. The Archangel wants to fly out of there, but the weeping angels just keep appearing. Wherever he doesn't look, weeping angels would appear, weakening his powers.
The Trickster feels a solid, stone cold hand on his wrist, followed by another hand on his shoulder.
Then he's not in that street any more.
The Trickster sits in a chair, the weeping angels managing to have blind folded him and tie him to a chair. His Grace pulses, it feels weak, almost like it's dying.
"You got captured. Again. Good one Gabriel, nice one," he whispers to himself.
Suddenly, a cool blade is driven through his shoulder. He lets out a yelp and he feels the warm blood leak from the new wound. The blade is drawn from his shoulder, and instead driven along his chest, gashing his shirt and skin, warm blood leaks from the cut.
"Hello brother. So glad that you figured out that you're the cause of all of this. Just how one person can't let you go," Gabriel can hear the words in his mind, his Grace connecting him to someone's mind.
"I may be the one who needs to be saved in the future, but I didn't cause this," he communicates back. He feels the blade be driven into his left thigh, he calls out in pain, but the blade does not move.
"You need to be controlled now, so you don't go seeking out that Winchester in the future to save you."
"Wait, what?"
"Oh, so you haven't seen that much of the story? Well I wouldn't want to spoil it for you."
Now that Gabriel really listens, he knows that voice. That Grace that's talking, but he just can't place it...
"Go ahead, you'll just do me and Rapunzel a favour," the Archangel replies.
"But Sam isn't here to save you this time, so just how are you going to tell him the information I supply?"
Oh, it's Zechariah.
"Look, Zachariah, I have my ways, and so does Sammy."
He really was just buying time now.
The blade leaves his thigh and enters his hand, the Archangel releases a yell. The blade is quickly removed and begins forming a long, deep cut down Gabriel's face.
"Ah, Gabriel? It's me, Sam. You've been missing for hours and I've checked every diner in a five mile radius. And I don't know if you're in Paris eating pancakes, but just come back soon... I'm, ah, I'm a bit worried... So just wing in when you can."
The prayer is so loud that it rings through Gabriel's mind. It was almost like it was desperate. Gabriel attempts a reply, but there isn't too good reception at where he is right now.
"I should just kill you now, and lock away your stone form," Zechariah hisses. "Whoa, hey, just think about what you're doing," Gabriel responds. He rattles the chains tying him down, but they've got angel sigils on them, he can receive prayers, and contact Grace to Grace, but besides that, nothing. He may as well be mortal.
"If you kill me, then you have to control stone me. But keep me like this, and I'll be easier to handle," Gabriel offers.
"Hmm, it is a good idea... Nah. Easier to just kill you."
