Inevitably, word got out about Harry Potter being Gryffindor's new seeker a few days before the match. And so, the school was buzzing with talks and bets about how the young Gryffindor would fare in his first game.

"Gaia! Kaleb!" Hailey Martin called out as Gaia stepped out of the common room with Kaleb.

"Yeah?" Gaia asked, stopping as Hailey pushed off the wall.

"Sit with the team during the game later, yeah? Joanne wants us all together so we can 'scope out the enemy'" Hailey quoted making the two younger Ravenclaws laugh.

"Sure thing," Kaleb answered.

The 6th year gave a two-finger salute before dashing down the stairs to catch up with her friends. The two started their own descent, chatting lightly about their expectation for the match.

"You supporting Gryffindor, I reckon?" Kaleb asked.

"I don't know, actually," Gaia admitted, "Fred and George are on Gryffindor, not to mention Harry. But Malia's on Slytherin so I don't know who to support."

"I'd say majority wins so go for Gryffindor. They'll be winning anyway," Kaleb grinned.

"Don't be rude," Gaia scolded, pushing him lightly and making him stumble slightly as they reached the bottom of the stairwell.

"How come he only gets pushed?"

"Yeah, we get hit if we say things like that."

Gaia looked on to see the Weasley twins entering Ravenclaw tower, both clad in their Quidditch uniforms. Yellow seeped into her hair as the pair of Gryffindors approached them.

"Hey you two! Excited? You already got your uniforms on," Gaia asked as she hugged the two tightly.

"You bet! Also, Wood wants us to go straight to the pitch after breakfast." Fred grinned, throwing a greeting at Kaleb as the four walked to the Great Hall.

"Can't wait to see Harry play. He's brilliant!" George added.

"Never missed-"

"-during practice."

"That's impressive. Especially considering that he's never played Quidditch before," Kaleb commented.

"Hey, what are you two doing here anyways? This isn't really a place you'd pass from Gryffindor to the Great Hall," Gaia asked.

"Wanted to see you, of course!" Fred said.

"'Course, we needed out lucky charm," George teased.

Gaia only shook her head with a smile as they fell into a conversation about the game. As soon as their group stepped into the hall, they were bombarded by the sound of students chatting excitedly for the first Quidditch match of the year.

"After this one, it'll be us versus Hufflepuff," Kaleb said to Gaia as he followed them to the Gryffindor table to meet up with Cole.

"We'll have to top this match." Gaia grinned before plopping down on the seat in front of Harry, "Hey Harry! Excited for your first match?" she grinned excitedly as the twins sat down in their usual places beside her while Kaleb sat beside George and in front of Cole who was sitting with Angelina Johnson.

"He hasn't eaten anything," Hermione blurted out as she gave a pointed look to Harry.

"What? Why?" Gaia asked curiously as she put some sausages on her plate.

"He's too nervous about the game," the clever witch answered.

Gaia bit into a sausage and rolled her eyes with a small smile.

"Harry, you won't be able to play well if you don't eat. You'll need strength to play. Your team can't have their seeker blacking out from hunger, you know," she said, her voice muffled by the food in her mouth.

"She's right, you know," Fred started.

"You'll be hit by a bludger if you don't keep your eyes peeled," George continued as he widened his eyes exaggeratedly.

"You're not helping!" Gaia hissed, slapping both of their arms.

"See? This is what we're talking about!" Fred whined.

"You see how she treats you better, Kaleb?" George turned to Kaleb who just laughed at their expense.

"We've been teasing you about Cole, maybe we should just tease you about Kaleb," Fred rolled his eyes.

"What's this about teasing Gaia about me?" Cole grinned mischievously.

"Fred!" Gaia groaned.

The quidditch pitch was filled with cheers as the two teams walked out to the center of the pitch, their brooms in hand. Madam Hooch was in the middle with her own broom, waiting for the two teams to reach her. Gryffindor and Slytherin stood face to face as the pitch continued to cheer them on. The bludgers were released and flew around erratically in the air, along with the golden snitch which seemed to instantly disappear from sight

"Go Gryffindor! Go Harry!" Gaia shouted with a grin as she clutched the railings, leaning forward.

"Fraternizing with the enemy, Eruditus?" Lucas Royler (Ravenclaw's new keeper) teased from beside her.

She rolled her eyes before looking back at the field just as Madam Hooch blew her whistle. She threw up the quaffle and the chasers immediately flew to grab it, Angelina being the one to do so.

"And the quaffle is immediately taken by Angelina Johnson of Gryffindor! What an excellent chaser that girl is, and rather attractive too!" Lee's voice boomed from the mic making Gaia laugh. He was stood with Professor McGonagall a few ways away from Gaia, the older witch telling him off.

"Sorry Professor." Lee grinned cheekily before going back to the match, "And she's really belting along up there. A neat pass to Alicia Spinnet, then to Cole Pyrus and- no, the Slytherins take possession of the quaffle. Slytherin Captain Marcus Flint gains the quaffle and off he goes, Malia Frias close behind him. Flint's flying like an eagle up there! He's going to sc- no, stopped by an excellent move by Gryffindor Keeper Oliver Wood. Should've passed it to Frias, I reckon. Gryffindor is in possession of the quaffle courtesy of Johnson."

Up in the air, Gaia observed Malia glaring heatedly at Flint before flying off to catch up to Katie.

"Shame about Frias, isn't it? Mighty fine chaser but her team's just hopeless," Joanna commented as she shook her head.

"Nice dive around Flint, off up the field and - ouch! That must have hurt, hit in the back of the head by a blduger. The quaffle is taken by Slytherin, in the fine hands of Frias. Her hands aren't the only thing fine on her - only joking Professor! Oof! Hit right across the head by a bludger, sent by Fred or George Weasley, can't tell which. Frias is down, sending in Cassius Warrington as reserve chaser. Don't have a chance now that their star chaser's off- sorry Professor!"

Gaia flinched as Malia was taken off and Cassius Warrington, a 3rd year Slytherin, flew up to replace her in the air.

"That's gotta hurt," Kaleb said as he followed Malia with his eyes.

"Those Weasley twins are fine beaters, aren't they?" Lucas noted.

"One of the finest," Gaia answered, her hair turning a light orange.

"You're biased. But, also right. They probably are one of the finest," Hailey teased.

"Hey. Who you calling biased?" Gaia frowned.

"Johnson is in possession of the quaffle, a clear field ahead and off she goes! She's really flying, dodges a speeding bludger sent her way by Lucian Bole. The goal posts are just up ahead - come on, now, Angelina - Keeper Miles Bletchley dives, misses - Gryffindor scores!"

Gaia cheered along with majority of the stadium.

"Look at Harry over there. Kid's having the time of his life," Jasmine said as the said boy did a couple loop-de-loops.

"Well we don't really do much before we spot the snitch," Joanne defended.

A bludger made its way to Harry, who dodged it by flying to the side. Fred came chasing it, who then wacked it furiously towards Flint who sent the bludger in the first place.

"Is that even allowed? He's not a beater," Michael asked, staring heatedly at Flint who gave back the beater's bat to Bole.

Gaia shrugged, patting Michael's shoulder in reassurance. See, Michael was a muggle-born, and so, he tended to question himself about everything he said.

"You know what, I'm not sure," Joanne answered as she narrowed her eyes at the Slytherin Captain.

"Slytherin is in possession. Pucey ducks two bludgers, two Weasleys, Chaser Pyrus, and - wait - was that the snitch? Pucey drops the quaffle. Both seekers zoom towards the snitch, neck and neck - go Harry! Gryffindor Seeker Harry Potter seems to be gaining, little closer, and - hey!"

Flint had blocked Harry which caused his broom to swing off course, the first year hanging on tightly to avoid being thrown off of the broom.

"Now that's cheating!" Kaleb snarled as the pitch was filled with roars of rage from the Gryffindors and amused laughs from the Slytherins.

"That's a foul!" Gaia shouted, red mixing in with her currently orange hair.

Madam Hooch flew up to Flint and started speaking angrily. Gryffindor was then given a free shot which was taken by Angelina, who scored perfectly.

"So, after that obvious and disgusting bit of cheating - I mean, after that open and revolting foul," Lee commentated bitterly, changing his words as McGonagall scolded him.

"Damn right it was revolting!" Jasmine called out, causing Lee to break out into a grin as he caught what she said.

"All right, all right. Flint nearly kills the Gryffindor Seeker, which could happen to anyone, I'm sure. So a penalty to Gryffindor, taken by Pyrus, who puts it away, no trouble, and we continue play. Gryffindor still in possession. Oh wait - Slytherin now in possession. Flint flies with the quaffle, passes Spinnet, passes Pyrus. Hit hard in the face by a bludger, hope it broke his nose - joking, Professor! Slytherin scores!"

"Hey, what's Harry doing?" Lucas pointed out, making us look towards the boy.

Gaia gasped as she saw what was happening. Harry's broom was trying to buck him off, going higher slowly as the movements of the broom became more erratic. Eventually, everyone was pointing to Harry in the air. His broom started to roll over and over, Harry just managing to hold on. Suddenly, it gave a wild jerk and Harry was thrown off his broom, the boy hanging on with one hand. Gaia covered her mouth with her hands as she looked on worriedly, her heart beating quickly and grey overtaking her hair color.

The twins flew up to Harry to try and pull him onto their brooms but it was as if Harry;s broom was pulling him away from the gingers. They looked at each other and lowered down, still below Harry so they could catch him if he fell off.

"Look. Flint is disgusting," Jasmine said bitterly.

"Can't believe he's still trying to score," Kaleb added.

True enough, Flint had already managed to score five goals while everyone else was so occupied with Harry.

Suddenly, Harry's broom stopped and he was able to climb back up. Just as he did, he started speeding to the ground, Fred and George moving to the side as he passed them.

"What is that boy doing!? He nearly dies on his broom, just gets back up, and now he's speeding to the ground?" Gaia said exasperatedly, still clutching her chest as she waited for her heartbeat to calm down.

"He's caught sight of the snitch," Joanne said, spotting the snitch herself.

Then, he clapped his hand to his mouth as he reached the ground, rolling before landing on all fours with his hands on his stomach. He coughed multiple times before a little golden ball landed on his palm. He raised it up in the air and the crowd went quiet in confusion.

"Is that what I think it is?" Michael asked incredulously.

"Harry Potter has caught the snitch! Gryffindor wins!" Lee cheered from the mic making the rest of the pitch follow. Our little group was cheering as well, Hailey even going as far as almost jumping on the rail.

"That's one way to catch a snitch!" Joanne grinned.

Gaia only sighed as Malia continued ranting in Spanish about the game while they walked to the Great Hall for dinner.

"Stupid Weasley! Ugh! I can't believe he knocked me out for the WHOLE game!" Malia seethed.

"Lia, it's a quidditch match. He's supposed to be doing that," Gaia pointed out.

"Not to mention! Flint's become even more insufferable! I didn't even think it was possible!" Malia continued, ignoring Gaia's words.

The two entered the Great Hall, a few heads turning to stare curiously at the Slytherin that kept cursing up a storm in a language they couldn't understand.

"Hey, I'm heading over to Gryffindor. You coming?" Gaia asked, though she already knew the answer to her question.

"As if I'd go there knowing George Weasley sits there," Malia scoffed, "I'll see you tomorrow, or something."

Gaia watched as the girl stalked off, shaking her head slightly before turning to the Gryffindor table. She plopped down in between the twins and rested her head on George's shoulder,

"Let me guess, Malia's pissed?" Fred grinned.

"Absolutely," Gaia grumbled, straightening up after a few seconds before piling food onto her plate.

"Before you even ask, I wasn't targeting her specifically," George said, hands raised up in mock surrender.

"I know, Georgie. But with the results of the game, I'd be pretty pissed too, especially if my captain was an idiot," Gaia said.

"A what?" Fred asked, confused.

"An idiot."

Gaia raised up her goblet to drink, choking on the water when a hand shook her shoulder.

"Oh sorry! But we have to tell you something really important," Hermione apologized, biting her lip slightly as Gaia coughed, Fred patting her on the back.

"It's fine," Gaia wheezed. She shot a glare at Fred's amused face before turning to face Hermione, "So what is it?"

"Snape was jinxing Harry's broom during the match!"

Gaia blinked owlishly, turning her head to both twins before turning back to the girl in front of her.

"Say again?" she asked as her eyebrows furrowed.

"Snape was the one jinxing Harry's broom," Hermione said slowly.

"And you're telling me this, why?" Gaia asked, her mind still processing what she was just told.

"Well," Hermione stammered, "I just, felt the need to tell an older student and thought of you," she rushed out.

Gaia's expression softened slightly before shaking her head.

"I don't think Professor Snap would do that," Gaia countered, "He may seem to dislike Harry a bit-"

"More than a bit!" Fred quipped.

"Practically hates him," George added with a nod.

Gaia shot both of them glares before clearing her throat.

"As I was saying, he might dislike Harry, but he's still a teacher. Doing something like that would cost him his job."

"I've read about jinxes and every book says that you've got to keep eye contact. Snape wasn't blinking at all!" Hermione defended.

"There are a lot of things that require eye contact and focus in magic, Mione," Gaia said, "Think what you will but, please, do not do anything rash."
