《Hidden Riches》Chapter 3

When I got back to Logan's mansion, I realized my phone and wallet were missing.
I looked every where, but they were nowhere to be found. I can't believe this!
Did I lose it at the bar? Shit. I hope not. I have 5 dollars in there and my ID.
My stomach loudly growled. It had been two hours since I was with Mrs. Gold. I was hungry again.
I decided to forget about my missing items for the moment and went down to the kitchen to get some food.
I opened the fridge. It was completely full of delicious food. I spotted out a cake and some sandwiches.
My mouth watered at all the food that was inside.
I cooked myself some eggs and more toast. As they cooked, I looked around the kitchen and opened up all the cabinets. I was curious of what food he might like. It was...average. Hamburgers, sandwiches, fries and some veggies that looked as if they hadn't been touched in months. I closed everything I had opened and continued to cook my snack.
Once they finished cooking, I sat at the big kitchen table and ate. As I ate I wondered if he did live here alone. What about his parents? Do they live here as well? If so, why aren't they here?
Once I finished my food, I washed my empty plate in the sink. I paced around the living room, waiting for Logan to come back.
Did he have my phone and my wallet?
Maybe he's a thief! He stole from me and brought me here to kill me so I wouldn't snitch!
Wait, that makes no sense. I was so intoxicated last night that if someone did steal from me, I wouldn't notice. Also, if he did steal from me, why would he bring me to his house?
Suddenly, I realized how exhausted I was for this constant worry. I've done enough exploring for the day. I lay on the couch and fell asleep.
....
I woke up feeling something touching my face. It was warm and rough. It tickled. Wait a second...
My eyes shot open. Logan was looking down at me, touching my cheeks. He had a big, bright smile on his face.

"Ah!" I screamed and quickly sat up. "What the hell are you doing?!"
He gave me smirk. "Did you sleep well, Bunny?"
He looked as if he had just gotten back. He was in blue jeans and a black long sleeve V-neck that hugged his muscles. He smelled as if he had just eaten Chinese food.
"When did you get back?" I asked, moving further down the big couch.
"Twenty minutes ago." He sat down on the couch right next to me. He ran his fingers through his dirty blonde hair. "Did you eat?"
"Yes, a few hours ago." I hadn't realized I had slept for so long.
"Good. I have more food for you in the kitchen if you'd would like some. Please help yourself."
Suddenly, I remembered my missing items.
Confront him, Hannah. He can't do anything to you anyway!
What?! Yes, he can! He has my phone! I won't be able to call the police if he attacks me!
"Is something on your mind, Bunny?" He asked me, searching my eyes.
"Logan...did you take my phone and wallet? I sort of need those." I nervously said, fiddling my thumbs.
"Yes, I did take them." He pulled my phone from his pocket. He placed my small black phone in my hand.
I knew it!
"Your wallet is upstairs in my room."
"Thanks?" I said. I turned pressed the "on" button to my phone, but the screen was still blank. What the hell?!
"It's dead." He said. "I'll charge it later." He took the phone from me once again and slid it back into his pocket.
"Why did you take it?" I asked him.
"Because someone was calling you last night and it was disrupting your sleep. Whoever it was really wanted to talk to you."
"Did you see who was calling me?"
"Someone named Peyton."
My heart skipped a beat. Peyton was calling me? What the hell does he want from me? There's no reason for him to call. He told me to leave.

"And my wallet?" I didn't want to think about Peyton right now. Him or that whore Julia.
"You gave it to me." He chuckled.
"What?!"
"The day I took you home, you said I could have it."
I face palmed. "Damn it, Hannah..." I said to myself.
"Don't be so hard on yourself, Bunny. I have no intention of keeping it. I'll give it back to you once I'm done with it."
"Done with it?"
"Done with your ID. I'd like to know who you are and where you're from, Bunny. You don't mind if I do a little investigating do you?" He leaned a little closer to me.
"I guess not..." I said, leaning backward from him. I went down too far. I fell back down onto the couch.
He laughed at me.
I turned away to hide my red cheeks.
"Would you like to do a little investigating on me too? I don't mind, Bunny." He said with a charming smile.
Why does he call me that? Out of all things, he calls me bunny.
"Sure. I guess so."
"Oh, don't sound so nervous. I would love if you did a little investigation."
Well, I would like to know more about him and his family.
Suddenly, I heard a loud ringing sound. It was his phone.
He frowned and pulled his phone from his pocket. "What is it? I'm busy." He whispered. "Really? Not today, Noah. Tell her I can't come." Logan stood from the couch and went up the stairs. "She's annoying, Noah. No, I don't plan on it."
That must be one of his hookers. Poor girl. Did he break her heart too?
My stomach growled interrupting my thoughts. The food!
A smell was coming from the kitchen. I stood from the couch and went in. A white bag was sitting on the table. Inside was a white box that had 'Bunny' written on it. I took the box from the bag and opened it. I knew it was Chinese food inside. Inside was fried rice and small pieces of fried chicken.
I began to eat. It was delicious. When I was almost done, Logan came back down the stairs.
"Bunny?" He called. He found me in the kitchen with my mouth full of chicken. "I see you already dug in." He leaned up against the wall.
"Mhm." I swallowed the food in my mouth and wiped the rice off my chin.
"Bunny, do you remember this morning when I said I had something to tell you?"
I nodded.
"Well I am about to tell you just that." He sat at the table across from me. "You will be living here from now on, Bunny. Do not worry, I live here alone. The company would be nice."
This is strange. What the hell is wrong with this guy?
"Logan-" I started.
"It only makes sense that you go to the same college as I do." He said.
I almost choked. "What?"
"I'd like for you to go to the same college as me."
"Why?"
"Because it'd been boring if you just sat here and did nothing all day."
"I could get a job. It's not that hard."
"You could, but you're living with me now. You won't need any money."
"Logan-" he interrupted me again.
"Ah ah ah. Listen Bunny, you won't change my mind about any of this. I've been thinking about it all day and I won't be changing my mind anytime soon. Besides, I'd love for you to be at school with me. I will give you everything you need there so you don't have to worry about any of that."
I looked down at my empty box. He'll provide me with everything?
Why is stranger helping me so much? Why is he being so nice to me?
"Bunny, are you upset with me?" He said, his big blue eyes sparkling.
"Well I... why are you doing all of this for me. I'm a stranger. You have no idea who I am-"
"I already told you, Bunny. I couldn't help but want take you in."
