"Got it." He replied trying to soak it all in. "Wait I think I just got the most brilliant idea!" Silas exclaimed jumping up from the bed. "You are the princess of the South".

"Yes..." I replied confused.

"I am the prince of the North. Let's just getmarried and solve this thing for both our countries!" He exclaimed, smilinglike a fool.

I burst out in laughter, doubling over the bed and falling on the ground. However, Silas just looks at me strangely.

"G-good joke", I say when I finally get back up and calm down.

"I wasn't joking", Silas replied. "It will be an alliance for both countries. I could stop the North from trafficking people, and you could have a peaceful alliance, plus an amazing husband".

"Silas, please don't take this the wrong way but no way in hell am I marrying you. I am not marrying someone for the conflict. I was raised by another man, not Weylin. What the North is doing is wrong and that is why I am helping the South, not because he's my father. I have no relation with that man although he's my father. He did not raise me no matter how much he hoped he did. I don't plan on ruling the South when all is said and done, I plan on joining a militia as I always have." I said. "You and I both deserve a fair chance at marrying someone we truly love, not each other. However, if you truly want to help the South then join the rebels, I am sure having the prince of the kingdom we are against will benefit us somehow."

Silas looked as if he was about to say something but then cut himself off. "Alright, I will join the rebels". He said with a grin.

"Well, I will let Caspian know tomorrow. For now, I need to go to bed, so goodnight and sweet dreams little prince." I said as I fell back onto the bed and let out a breath.

"Goodnight Aloia" Silas said with a laugh as he leaned down and kissed my cheek.

Before I could say something, he was out the door.

'What the hell was that kiss?' I asked myself as I lay in bed. I need to get this dress off myself, I can barely breathe.

I quickly walked out of Aloia's room before she could say anything about the kiss I gave her.

How is this woman so blind to see that she and I are perfect? I don't need to marry anyone else except her. From the moment I saw her at Mr. Davidson's shop I knew I had to see her again.

All I need to do now is get her to see that. But then there is the issue of the asshole by the name of-.

"Hello princeling", Caspian said as he walked towards me.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear, I told myself.

"Hello, Asspian, sorry I met Caspian slip of the tongue," I replied with a smirk.

"I'm sure it was. Where's Aloia?" He asked.

"She is about to go to bed, I just kissed her goodnight," I replied coolly knowing it would get under his skin. He grabbed me by my collar and pulled my face towards him. "Don't ever touch Aloia again. She is mine", he growled at me.

"From what I just heard, she claims she doesn't belong to anyone," I said as I pushed him off me. "And I thought I would let you know, I'm joining the rebels."

"Like hell you are", he replied with a scoff.

"Well, Aloia let me join and after all, she is your princess. So, whatever she says goes." I told him as I pushed past him. I turned around with a smirk and said, "All is fair in the game of love and war".

Aloia is mine, and he won't take her from me, I'll make sure of it.

I spent the last 20 minutes trying to undo my corset, but it wasn't coming off. I thought of ringing for Annie, but I didn't want to wake her this late. I was going to give it one last try before I reached for the scissors and cut myself out.

"Come on", I groaned myself as I tried to undo the ribbon.

"Need help with that", I heard a familiar voice behind me. Caspian's breath was on my neck and shivers flew down my spine.

I spun around to face him. "Caspian? What are you doing here? I am about to go to bed."

"Turn around and let me help you", he said as he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me around making butterflies flutter through my stomach.

"Thank you", I muttered under my breath.

"Sorry, what was that? I couldn't catch it", he replied as he undid the corset.

"I said thank you!" I said louder as I grumbled.

"You're welcome love" he replied as my dress fell off me and I was left in my underdress.

I was about to pull away when Caspian grabbed me by the waist and pulled my back to his front. He started to kiss down my neck and I gasped at the contact. He kissed the skin right under my ear, and I whimpered. I felt his smirk against my skin as he began to suck at the perfect spot. I let out a soft moan and he growled in response.

He picked me up into his arms and placed me on the bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow my eyes grew heavy and the exhaustion from the ball hit me like a brick. I drifted to sleep as Caspian kissed down my neck.

I scooped her up and carried her to the bed. Finally, I get to show her who she belongs to. Finally, I got to do what I have been dreaming of, for months. I kissed down her neck and looked back up at her.

I chuckled to myself as I saw her fast asleep in front of me. A bit of guilt hit me for not realizing how tired she was from tonight. I got off the bed and tucked her in and left to take a cold shower so I could snuggle up to her in bed. There was no way I was leaving her alone tonight after Silas had been in her room trying to marry her. God knows what he might do at night if I am not here.

Maybe I am overreacting but it's better to be safe than sorry.

After I returned from my shower, Aloia had kicked the covers off of her and was spread across the bed with her legs in different directions. I laughed as I quickly changed into my night trousers and scooped her up back into my arm. I opened the covers and laid her onto me, her head on my chest.

As I pet her hair, I felt her arms wrap around me and heard her mutter something into my skin as she kissed my chest. I knew she didn't know it was me holding her, but I still was happy that she was in my arms. That's all that matters.

I woke up to the sounds of cries as I jumped out of bed, scared. Ali used to have them when she was little, and we shared a room. She would cry from her nightmare and I would wake up instantly to comfort her. Although we don't share a room anymore it is still reflex.

I turned my head and saw Caspian whimpering in his sleep.

"No, don't take her! Mommy please, please stay" he cried out with his eyes closed and his head into a pillow squirming.

I realized he was having a nightmare as I rushed over to him and wrapped my arms around him.

"Shh, it's okay. Caspian wake up it's just a nightmare", I cooed into his head, kissing it, and rocked him back and forth.

Caspian pulled out of my arms and locked eyes with me. He looked terrified and scared.

"I miss her so much Aloia. I never got to see her again", he said as he wrapped his arms back around me and wept into my arms.

"Shh, it's okay. I know you miss her, it's okay" I said wrapping my arms around him and petting his head as he cried.

I rocked him back and forth and whispered sweet nothings trying to calm him down from his nightmare.

After 10 minutes Caspian fell back asleep, his arms still tight around me, scared of letting me go. I continued to pet his head as I thought about Ares.

He did this to Caspian, gave him this fear and emptiness because of his actions. He did this to countless others. Children have died from this, families broken, lives pulled apart.

I swore to myself that his death would be at my hands and no one else's. His life will end at my hands and I will smile doing so. Getting justice for the countless lives he ruined.

I fell asleep with one thought in mind. The death of Ares, King of the North, and the thoughts of how to do so.

I woke up with the feeling of someone staring straight down at my face. I slowly opened my eyes and was met face to face with Caspian just staring at me.

"Jesus, Caspian could you not stare at me when you woke up", I said as I pulled out of his grasp and turned around on the other side of the bed, trying to go back to sleep.

"Oh, um sorry about last night princess. I usually don't have nightmares." Caspian said as he scratched the back of his head.

I turned back around to face him. "Have a nightmare is nothing to be embarrassed about. You have to open up to people you trust or else you will keep everything bottled up for too long. And if the person you open up to is me, then so be it." I said to him making sure to keep eye contact, so he knows I am serious.

"Thank you love", he said with a small smile.

I heard a knock on the door and forced Caspian under the covers of my bed. "Come in", I said scared.

"Good morning sweetheart", Silas said as he walked in.

Caspian pulled the covers off of him and grumbled "And the morning is ruined by the Royal asshole."

"Ah", Silas said with a look of disgust on his face "Aloia don't let the Southern Slum into your bed, he will get it dirty".

"Alright enough you two, Silas why are you here?" I said with a sigh as I got up from the bed. I guess no more sleep.

"You have a visitor", he said with a deep breath.

"What? Who?" Caspian and I say at the same time. He turns and winks at me and I roll my eyes in response.

"It's your father and sister" Silas replies.
