《The Girl in Red》19

I didn't have a care in the world at that moment. I didn't care that I was exhausted from the day I just had, I didn't care that I had to flirt with a stranger, and I didn't care that I felt so amazing with the one person that made me angry. And most of all, I didn't care that I was falling for him.
Caspian put me down and gave me a final twirl.
"So how bad did I dance?" I asked Caspian amused.
"Not bad at all princess", he said with a wink.
Caspian kept his eyes on my face, and I caught myself thinking about his eyes.
'Have they always been that beautiful?' I thought to myself turning my head a bit to the side.
He moved closer to me, not taking his hand off my hips.
"You're so beautiful Aloia", he said tucking in a strand of hair behind my ear and looking at my lips.
"Mhm" I replied, not listening to what he was saying and looking at his lips.
He let out a small laugh and started to lean into me, his lips grazed mine and I realized that if he kissed me, then nothing would be the same. He wouldn't let me dance or speak to anyone else at the ball and I wouldn't be able to focus on my mission properly.
I suddenly pulled away and ran to the door.
"I'll um see you at the ball, tomorrow right?" I asked him before I left.
"Oh, um yeah", Caspian replied, still frozen in place.
I opened the door and ran back to my room.
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!", I told myself out loud hitting my head with a pillow.
'How could I get lost in the moment and do that?' I asked myself. And Caspian he was supposed to hate me. I mean all he would ever do is tease me and make me want to die from embarrassment. There were only a few times when Caspian was truly sincere and those were the best times, I have ever spent with him.
I let out a sigh and got up to take a quick bath. As soon as I changed into my nightgown and lied down on the bed, my eyes started to feel heavy. Before I knew it, I was asleep.
She looked so happy in my arms dancing. I have never seen her genuinely look so happy at her time here in the prince's palace. But the way she giggled when I lifted her into the air, I would give my heart and soul to hear that sound one more time.

And I knew she felt it too. The pull we had for one another, the unsettling feeling I get when she isn't close, or how I want to kill Silas when he puts a hand on her. I should have held her closer or pulled her in faster for the kiss. I scolded myself.
I went back into my room and wondered what Aloia was doing at the moment. Probably hitting herself with a pillow or against the door about how stupid she was. I got into bed, but I couldn't stop thinking about her. Her smile or the way she smelled. Just like a rose. I needed to see her or else I wouldn't be able to sleep normally.
I got out of bed and started to walk to her room. As I got closer, I made sure to tiptoe my way in slowly opening the door to make sure she was sleeping. I let out a small laugh as I looked at her position. She was sprawled across the bed, letting out small snores.
I quietly walked in and tucked her back into bed without waking her up and sat down on the side of her bed. I had told her she was beautiful today and I meant it. Every part of her was beautiful, even the feisty side. I slowly leaned down to kiss the top of her forehead.
'When all this conflict was over and Weylin wasn't in danger anymore, I'll take her to anywhere she wants to go. We will buy a house together and she'll play piano every day to her heart's content and at night she wouldn't be sleeping, and I'll make sure of it.' I thought with a smirk.
"Caspian", Aloia mumbled out sleepily and turned her head to the other side.
I started to freak out thinking that she woke up and saw me here but then I realized she was still asleep. 'She was dreaming about me', I thought to myself with a smile although I am sure she was dreaming about killing me.
"Goodnight princess", I whispered, giving her one more kiss on her forehead. As I walked out, I felt more relaxed knowing my mate was sleeping just fine.
I woke up and looked at the clock.
'Shit! It's 3 p.m.' I scolded myself and quickly got up only to hear the voice of someone behind me. "Good morning Princess!"
I slowly turned around and saw Caspian standing outside my bedroom leaning on the door frame with a shit eating grin.

"What the hell Caspian!" I screamed and started throwing pillows at him. "You were staring at me when I was sleeping! And better yet you couldn't have bothered to wake me up!"
He caught all the pillows I threw at him and put them neatly back on the bed.
"Relax sunshine I just got here, and I did try to wake you up at 9 a.m. and then again at 12 p.m. but little miss sleepyhead didn't want to get up." He said as he walked up to me and started ruffling my hair. I slapped his hand away.
"But you know what I did hear?" Caspian said with a smirk "You were calling my name in your sleep. Is it possible that you dreamed about me?"
My cheeks turned bright red and I turned away from him. "You know you still haven't apologized for kidnapping me." I said as I made my bed.
"I did apologize as you were about to be knocked out." He replied as he sat down in the chair behind me.
"Seriously, that was your apology?" I said turning around and raising an eyebrow.
Caspian just gave a shrug and popped a grape into his mouth from the bowl of fruits on that table.
'Asshole'. I thought to myself 'Thinks too highly of himself to apologize'
"How am I getting my gown for tonight? And who is helping me prepare?" I asked Caspian as I finished making my bed and sitting back down on it.
"Your servants from the last gala will be helping you prepare. All of them are members of the revolt except Annie. She is too young to get involved with all the violence, but we still protect her as one of our own. She tried to get involved multiple times but each time we stopped her." Caspian replied and I cracked a smile thinking of her bright red hair.
"Anyway, you get to choose your gown for tonight but if any alterations are needed you can ask your maid to do them. Annie is very skilled in sewing and she made most of our uniforms, so she can help you with that. Any questions?"
"Just one. When are the maids coming?" I asked.
Caspian looked up at the clock and as he opened his mouth there was a knock at the door. He smirked and replied "Now".
As I was pampered and scrubbed down by the other servants, against my will, Annie showed me the red silk dress I was to wear tonight. However, if I want to attract someone's attention, I need to make this dress way more scandalous.
"Hey Annie", I shouted to her.
"Yes Miss. Aloia", she said rushing back into the bathing room.
"Um, can we have a moment alone?", I asked the other servants. "And Annie stop calling me miss."
The other two servants grumbled about not being on time as they left the room. As soon as they left, I started to explain to Annie my plan.
"Alright Annie, according to Caspian you made some amazing uniforms for the rebels. Am I correct?" I asked her.
"Yes ma'a- I mean Aloia" she replied with a huge smile. For someone so young she was certainly talented, and I was happy she was being protected by the rebels.
"Well Annie, tonight I need to seduce-or rather attract another male's attention in order to make sure the king of the South isn't assassinated." I made sure to leave out the princess of the king part because I wasn't sure who else knew and I definitely didn't need any more attention.
"Yes, Caspian told me before and I wish I got to do something cool like that", she replied with a frown.
"Well, I need your help with something during this mission." I told her and she beamed. "I need to attract attention meaning the red silk dress needs to show off my curves or rather my breast and butt, as weird as that sounds."
She giggled and I continued, "Would you be able to alter my dress before I have to put it on?"
"You got it! I know just what to do", she said with a smile and ran out of the room to start the alteration.
'Perfect' I thought to myself 'Not only will every man in the room be attracted to me but, I will also be able to make Caspian extremely jealous. That's what he gets for not apologizing.'
