《》Chapter 6: Family

Genesis was released from the hospital and back at home with Bella. Charlie had left to the station for the day after bringing her home, which Bella was grateful for. She wanted to have a day with her sister. She had missed her throughout the night and was still feeling very guilty about not being able to help her sister.
"Bella, please calm down. I'm okay, see?" Genesis was currently holding her crying sister, trying to assure her that the accident wasn't her fault and that she was okay. "I know," Bella sniffled and wiped her tears, "I know, it's just, I almost lost you. I don't know what I would do without you! You're like, like my rock!" Bella exclaimed.
Genesis smiled, "I know, I'm great. I'm sure my presence is a lot to handle, but you have to pull yourself together." Genesis joked. Bella looked up at her, hiding her amusement, "Really?" They looked at each other for a moment. Genesis snorted and busted out laughing, Bella joining her.
"I'm serious though, I'm sorry." Bella sighed. Genesis stood up and pulled something out of her bookcase. Turning around, Bella smiled wide and laughed. Genesis had pulled out the first Avengers movie, bringing back memories of when Bella used to get sad and they would watch a marvel marathon.
"Marathon?"
Genesis walked back into history class after walking Bella to her class. She looked to the back and saw Rosalie looking sadly out the window. Genesis had never seen Rose so sad. Genesis sat next to her and grabbed her hand that was on the desk and gave it a squeeze. "Are you okay?" Genesis asked. Rosalie snapped her head to her so fast Genesis thought her head would fly off.
"Gen!" Rose gasped and pulled the girl into a tight hug. "Thank God you're okay." She sighed with relief. Genesis hugged back, happy that her friend was happy. "I'm so glad you're back. You have no idea how scared we were." She said as she pulled away. Genesis smiled, "I didn't know you guys cared so much." She giggled. Rose wasn't as amused.
"You mean everything to me and my family. As far as we're concerned, you're apart of our family." Rose explained. Genesis sniffled, "Don't make me cry in class. I'm supposed to be rock solid." Rose laughed at her. "My apologies."
Genesis walked into the cafeteria and started walking over to the Cullen table. Suddenly, everyone started clapping and cheering. Genesis looked around to see what the commotion was all about, only to see everyone staring at her and calling her name. "What's going on?" She mumbled. "They're cheering for you, silly. Everyone saw how you saved Bella a few days ago. You're in the paper and everything!" Alice said walking up to her.
"I didn't save her to become popular!" Genesis said, worrying that everyone thought that she did it as some kind of publicity stunt. "No one thinks that. You're a hero, Gen. Embrace it!" Alice said, pulling her over to their table. The cafeteria settles down and went back to normal, much to Genesis's relief.

"Welcome back, Gen. I'm glad you're okay." Emmett said giving her a bear hug. Once he let her go, she was already in another hug with Jasper. "I missed you." He said as he let her go. Edward looked over at her after staring at her sister once again. "I'm glad you're okay, Genesis." He said smiling at her.
"Thanks guys." She smiled. Everyone started converting amongst themselves as Genesis started to stare off into the distance. Edward was staring at Bella before he started to hear something a little disturbing coming from across the table. He looked over to Genesis and saw her staring off, thinking. He focused on her thoughts, only to realize they're her memories.
His siblings caught him staring at Genesis and wondered what could be so important in her mind for him to stop staring at his mate. Edward smiles slightly, seeing her memories of her and Carlisle bonding while she was in the hospital. His smile soon faded, as he saw her reliving her memories as she talked to him. He saw the memories. He saw what happened to her. He saw everything.
After he had seen enough, he looked to Jasper, silently telling him to read her emotions. Jasper looked over at his friend, analyzing her emotions. Jasper immediately grabbed Alice's hand, Genesis's emotions hitting him like a truck. Jasper immediately calmed her down, and Genesis snapped out of her daze.
"Are you okay?" Alice asked, scared of what she knew she was going to learn from Edward and Jasper. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" Genesis asks. "Oh, nothing. You just looked out of it." Alice laughed slightly. Genesis nodded and started talking to a startled Rosalie, who was now worried for her best friend.
The Cullen's were all seated in their living room. Edward was still startled by what he saw in Genesis's head. Carlisle walked into the room after coming home from work and saw his family all looking at him as he stepped into the kitchen. "What?" He asked, confused by their stares.
"I saw what happened to Genesis." Edward stayed bluntly. Carlisle froze, anger towards the man that had hurt Genesis coming back to him. "She was staring off into space when I heard some of her thoughts. I was concerned as to what she was thinking, and accidentally saw everything." Edward explained.
The Cullen's sat quietly, still taking in the new information on their beloved friend. "Where is he now?" Emmett spoke up. All the Cullen's were thinking the same thing. They wanted to kill the monster. "Prison." Carlisle stated stiffly. "Prison's too good for monsters like him." Rose seethed. Emmett held her hand tightly. If anyone knew the pain Genesis was going through, it was Rose.
The Cullen's collectively agreed to keeping a close eye on Genesis. They want to protect her from the world the way she protects Bella. Carlisle was pleased his children would be there for his mate. He couldn't be happier that they already looked at Genesis as family. He was beginning to think that maybe he was out of luck.

Genesis seemed as if she did not want to be drug into any type of conflict, and Carlisle knew that with vampires, conflict is almost a given. The wolves, for example, were a part of a conflict, the Vultori are even worse. But, despite Genesis's thoughts on the human world, she looks at the world as if it has more to offer. She's still adventurous, and that's the bravest thing she could be.
"May we invite her over tomorrow? Maybe we could try to cheer her up." Alice asked, looking to Carlisle for permission. "Of course." He nodded, happy that he would get to see his mate tomorrow, even if she wasn't their for him. It pained Carlisle to feel so close, yet so far from his mate. He was known to be a very patient man. He has been patient, for about three hundred years, but now that she's so close, he can't help but want to push time forward to where they are together at last.
Sighing, Carlisle shook his head. He shouldn't feel that way. Now that he thinks about it, he does want to wait this out. He wants to see her start to love him. He wants to watch for himself how their lives weave together and create their love.
Their eternal love.
Unbeknownst to Genesis, Bella was planning to drag her to a beach after school. "La Push." Genesis said while sitting on the outer part of Tyler's van. "The hell does that even mean? Who are pushing? Our luck on not getting a frickin cold?" Genesis asked as she shivered from the cold. Mike, Angela, and Jessica were all suited up in surf suits about to go out into the cold ocean waves.
"Zip me up?" Angela asked, trying and failing to reach the zipper of her suit. "And be blamed for aiding in your death to hyperthermia?" Genesis asked. "Oh come on, it's not that cold." Mike laughed. "If my nipples got any harder, they'd fall off. It's colder than a witches titty out here." Genesis sassed.
Bella snorted and everyone started laughing. "I'm telling you. You guys think I'm joking. But when you guys get in that freezing ass water and turn into a bunch of ice cubes then I'm leaving you there to be found in the next seventy years." Genesis said shaking her head.
"Someone's grumpy." A voice said coming up to them. Everyone looked to see Jacob and two guys walking their way. "Jacob?" The sisters say in unison. "You know this guy?" Mike asked, jealousy obviously in his voice. "Yeah, he's our childhood friend." Bella said. "You following us now?" Genesis smirked. "Hey, you're on our turf now." Jacob jokes back.
"Glad you guys are here. You can keep them company. Bella's date bailed." Jessica snorted, obviously feeling happy that Edward had backed out of Bella's invite. "It was just to be nice." Bella defended. "Yeah. I think it's nice she invited him, no one ever does." Angela said sweetly. Genesis felt like Angela is the only good friend out of the group Bella's made. "Yeah. Cause Cullen's a freak." Mike commented. Genesis glared at him.
"You've got that right." One of the guys with Jacob laughed. "What do you mean?" Genesis asked. "The Cullen's don't come here."
Genesis, Jacob, and Bella were walking along the beach, talking about random things. "What did that guy mean by 'the Cullen's don't come here'?" Bella asked. Genesis finally started listening to their conversation. She felt as if she were third wheeling, seeing as Jacob totally had a thing for Bella. But it also kind of felt more like Jacob was talking to a brick wall. Genesis knew Bella only had eyes for Edward.
She also knew Edward was infatuated with Bella. She wondered how long it would be until Edward finally confessed to her. Her sister needed a love life. Or, perhaps, a life in general. Genesis didn't think she would always have to be there for Bella, but she was starting to think that that was where her life was heading. But, as much as she wouldn't exactly want to, she would never be able to say no to her little sister if she needed her.
"You caught that, huh?" Jacob asked. "Pretty sure everyone did, Jake." Genesis smirked as Jacob playfully glared back at her. "It's some kind of legend in our tribe. Our ancestors apparently descended from wolves, and the Cullen's are like, this enemy clan." Jacob explained.
"Wolves?" Bella asked. "That's the legend of our tribe." Jake replied. Bella stopped, causing Genesis and Jacob to stop and look at her. "What are they?" She asked. "It's just a story, Bella." Jacob brushes off, amused. He didn't seem to know what they were himself.
"Enemy clan," Genesis mumbled, still standing in the same spot. Jacob and Bella looked at her curiously, wondering if she would come up with something. "I've got it!" She exclaimed. "What?" Bella asked, highly interested in what her sister had come up with. "Enemy clan to wolves! It's obvious! They're cats!" Genesis fake gasped. Jacob snorted and Bella rolled her eyes in amusement and lightly shoved Genesis. Genesis just laughed and started walking with them again.
The Cullen's couldn't be harmful, could they?

Re:Mento Mori
When Ryuji, a disgruntled salaryman, is supposed to reach an unfortunate end, he is instead thrust into a new world, inhabiting a body that isn't his own. Forced into a world filled with strife and death, can he claim freedom and happiness? Or will his turbulent new life only lead to suffering and pain? As with every time-loop story written by an amateur author, this is heavily inspired by Re:Zero. If I had to explain my book, I would say imagine Re:Zero, but the main character can actually fight people instead of just getting merked every time he meets someone with a weapon. The themes of this story are dark, so be forewarned. This is my first story so keep that in mind while reading it.
