chapter twenty seven

"i- i didn't lie," she stuttered.

she almost didn't want to believe what she did, but beamer knew that she would have to come to terms with it eventually. however, he decided he wouldn't continue the conversation as he didn't want her to get upset with herself for the small lie she told. lying was nothing to beamer, as he had been doing it left and right his entire life. but for lydia things were much different and he understood that, so he quickly changed the subject.

"time to shower, baby." he said, softly grabbing her hand and leading her to the bathroom of the bedroom.

"why did you take the phone from me?" she softly questioned, releasing her hand from his.

this small action upset beamer. she hasn't taken her hand from his before, and it almost worried him. however, he was not worried that she didn't want to be around him in the moment, he was worried because she no longer respected him she no longer feared his presence. first she stood up from the table without his look of approval, and now she was physically removing herself from his grasp. he did not like this.

"shower, lydia. now." he demanded as he roughly gripped her hand into his again.

he didn't want to be so rough with her, but he couldn't bare the thought of her not respecting him. and with respect, comes fear. the only thing that she was required to do while with him was submit to him. and if she wasn't doing that, then he would make her. and if she wouldn't listen to him while he was being gentle, then he would be rough.

"i need to get clothes beamer," she began, before being cut off.

"stop fucking talking, lydia." he demanded towards her.

lydias face immediately dropped and she stopped walking with him. this demand from him hurt her feelings, as she thought he enjoyed when she spoke to him. she was starting to become used to him roughly grabbing her from time to time, but he had never said something that hurt her feelings before. she had never been insulted, really. nobody in her life has ever gotten so upset with her that they say something hurtful. but now, she understood how it felt when someone did so. and she knew that she would never forget the feeling. meanwhile, beamer felt her resistance to walk with him and turned around angrily.

"w- why would you say that?" she shakily asked as her eyes started tearing up. she was overwhelmed.

before beamer could respond she quickly walked into the bathroom and closed it. she clicked the door knob, locking the door behind her before he could get in. obviously, beamer wouldn't have this. his sympathy was running low for the girl, and now he was fuming.

"open the fucking door lydia!" he shouted, pounding on the bathroom door.

lydia found herself crying, sliding down the door as she did so. with every thud that he landed on the door her small body shook as well. she didn't care though, she felt as if she had no energy to move at all. how could someone be so mean to another human being? she felt as though she had been so good for him, and she didn't understand why he got so upset with her over small things that she couldn't even recall.

she didn't even want to be here, in fact, she was being forced to stay here. how could he take her from her family and then be so mean to her? why would he want her here if she was so misbehaved? her mind was racing as well as her adrenaline. it felt like beamers force against the door would knock it down any minute now, and she could only imagine what he would do to her if that happened.

"fuck this," she heard him spit out.

and with one last bang, came silence. she heard the sound of footsteps lead out of the bedroom door, followed by the jingling of keys. and soon enough, the front door was slammed and the house was overtook by silence. lydia wiped the tears from her face and quietly sniffled her nose as she began to calm down. she decided that beamer had left, but she was smart enough to wait a few moments before making her conclusion final. and when her decision was finalized, she began to move around.

she slowly got up from her spot on the ground and began to open the door. when she knew the coast was clear, she left the bathroom and began to cautiously walk out of the bedroom and towards the living room. there was no sign of beamer anywhere in the house that she could see, and his car not being in the driveway only told her one thing. he was gone.

thinking quickly and on her feet lydia immediately attempted to open the front door. it was locked of course, and she knew that if she unlocked the door beamer would receive an alarm on his phone from the security system that armed the house. the last thing she wanted was for beamer to return home, especially with how angry he was. besides, she knew that on top of his current anger would be even more anger if she attempted to leave the house. and surely enough, she was scared of what he would do to her.

sure she could open the door and immediately dart to her car to drive off before he arrived, but he knew where she lived. and on top of that, she had absolutely no access to her car keys. she didn't even have a clue as to where they were, and she was not going to attempt to look for them as that would be hopeless. so, she decided to stay put.

she spent the evening on the couch for the most part, and she almost didn't know what to do with herself. there was no television, no cell phones, and no entertainment. the house had no information on the inside of it that she could snoop through either. all she had was herself and her thoughts. and soon enough, she fell tired and yearning for bed. she didn't know exactly how long it had been since he left as she had no access to any clocks in the house. but she knew it had been awhile, due to the evening sunset that had came and passed, leaving her with nothing more than the dark night sky.

with a yawn, she collected herself off of the couch and brought her body to the bedroom. she sneaked into the covers, making sure to stretch herself out as far as her little body would allow her so that she could be sure that beamer could not place himself in the bed next to her. she didn't want to be around him, and she sure did not want to sleep in the same bed as him. however, it didn't take long for lydias body to relax followed by her slowed breathing to overcome her. she had fallen asleep.

"little, please, you can't leave me,"

lydia slowly stirred awake due to the sudden deep dip in the bed beside her, startling her a bit. she felt a large weight drop onto her chest, in which she quickly realized was beamers head.

"please, i promise, i'll be good for you," the boy wailed into her chest.

she soon could recognize the situation, and she realized that beamer was crying. she was a bit shaken by this, as she never thought in her life that she would witness such a scene. the light in which the moon produced shined into their bedroom window, causing a dim light to be visible in the room. she took in the sight of the boy who rested his head on her chest and began to feel worried. he looked horrible, and she never thought she would think that.

his hair was held in a disheveled mess, and his face was stained by tears in which caused his cheeks and nose to hold a pink shade across them. he reeked of an unknown substance, which she soon recognized to be alcohol. she knew the smell because of her fathers social drinking, and she soon put her finger on the fact that beamer was drunk. very drunk. but the sweet smell of him was still present. the smell that brought brought her comfort, and also woke her brain up to the point of where she was completely aware of the situation in front of her.

"beamer?" she tiredly whispered.

"baby?" he cried back in response.

"what's wrong?" she quietly asked.

"i- i don't want you to leave me, i need you baby you don't understa-"

"why would i leave you, beamer?" she cut him off.

"because i- i don't know how to be nice to you. everytime i see you i just want to ruin you, you're so pure baby, you're so pure for me and-" he was cut off once more by lydia, who shushed him.

"i'm here beam, i'm not leaving. i'm here. for you only, beam." she cooed, wrapping her arms around him.

"i- i think i love you little"
