《Moon - The Guardian Raptor {Jurassic World; Fallen Kingdom Fanfic}》Chapter 2

"Relax, you're more likely to die riding on a horse than in a plane" A female voice snipped making me chuckle quietly.
Owen and I had decided to join along in the quest of pointless death, hiding away in the back of the cabin.
"No, I'm not, cause i wont get on a horse and my chances are Zero" A young male voice returned before the two voices began going back and forwards.
The sound of someone entering the plane and sitting down right in front of Owen and I made me peak over the baggage to see a familiar red head, kicking Owen in the shin to wake him up.
"Owen!" Claire exclaimed after the idiot sat up quickly and caught her attention.
"And i didn't think you were ever gonna show up" He snipped back, his voice groggy from just being awoken.
"Oh, um... This is Zia Rodriguez" Claire introduced as I sat up, a hand patting her on the shoulder in a greeting.
"Zia" Owen greeted, giving the black haired lady a handshake as I gave her a head nod.
"Franklin Webb, systems annalist" Pointing to the darker skinned male who was panicking in his seat.
"Nervous flyer?" Owen spoke as Franklin clutched onto his laptop bag.
"Would you ride a thousand-pound horse that's been abused all its life?" Franklin returned, nervousness in his tone.
"I rode my motorcycle through the jungle with a pack of raptors " The man next to me stated, Franklin saying something about not being compatible as I chuckled quietly.
Soon the plane started up making me quickly buckle my seat belt up, a lump forming in my throat.
"So, whats your name, tall-not-so-dark-and-scary?" Zia asked, the plane starting to move to the runway.
Claire must have noticed one of my hands tightly gripping my seat belt and spoke up.
"This is my nephew, Moon. He was Owen's assistant with the velociraptors" She stated, my head nodding in thanks before snapping to Owen who grinned.

I growled at him, showing a few white sharp teeth that made him sink away from me very quickly.
-Time Skip-
"Clair!" An older man yelled, tipping his cap as he gained her attention as she made her way over to him and began conversing.
I quickly grabbed Franklin's forearm, who was looking sickly, and dragged him off the plane, both of us glad to be on actual land.
"Where's the uh...Raptor Wranglers?" The man called out as Owen came up next to me.
"Animal Behaviorist, Owen Grady and this is Moon" He spoke, shaking the male's hand.
"Hey Owen...Moon..." The slight hesitance in his movement as he went to shake my outstretched hand made me internally smirk as I gave the man a semi-welcoming smile.
"And you are, Great White Hunter?" Owen laughed, not having noticed his hesitance.
"Ha, I guess. I'm the expedition Facilitator" The man returned, not giving his name.
Chuckling to myself, I decided to have a look around, an uneasy shiver as I looked towards the almost erupting volcano.
Before long, we all cramped up into heavy duty vehicles and began our movement through the park.
"Need some bug spray? Bug spray?" Franklin offered after having just squirted half the bottle onto his arms, the smell making my nose wrinkle and tickle.
"The T-Rex would be dead by now, right?" He asked after everyone declined.
"No, its impossible to know the max lifespan of a clone in a completely different environment. Take a Caveman that would have lived 20 years, give him prime meals, give him healthcare, he's gonna live 5 times as long" Zia explained making my eyes slightly widen at her.
"So...She'd be dead by now, right?" Franklin asked again, an audible sigh escaping me as I buried my head in a hand.
Before long, we were pulling up to the tourist center, Owen, Claire and I all looking out before glancing to each other.

"Bad memories?" Our Expedition Facilitator deadpanned as I looked back out the window.
"Some were good" Owen replied.
"And some were less than exciting" I muttered before a loud trembling footstep made all the vehicles stop.
"What was that? Is it the T-Rex?" Franklin questioned, Zia and I both looking out the window towards the noise.
"I have to see this" The young lady beside me murmured, quickly undoing her seat belt and jumping from the vehicle, 'Expedition Facilitator' following after.
Moving into a more relaxing position, I watched as all the others moved out of the vehicle to see the large Brachiosaurus as she moved into the main pathway, making her way to eat some palm leaves.
-Time skip-
"You know what you're doing, Tiger?" Weebly questioned Franklin, the young adult working to open the doors to the network building doors.
"I'd say yes" I muttered, the doors opening beside Claire.
"After you, Tiger" Franklin returned closing the switchboard before we all moved into the building.
"Are we sure these bio-metric chips are still transmitting? Battery would be dead by now" Zia asked, my eyes glancing to my bicep where a small scar sat under my shirt.
"Battery is the Dinosaur. Power heat and movement generates the power, constantly recharging the chip" I informed her, her brown eyes widening at the information.
"Hand" Franklin instructed to Claire making her move to the scanner and completing the process, the lights all flicking on.
"I'm in" He stated, the screens above him all turning on as well, a large map of the Isla Nublar appearing, "There's a large concentration on the East Dock".
"That's our boat, we've already captured a bunch of them" Weebly stated, i looked towards him before turning to Owen with an uneasy look.
"Without the tracking system?" Claire questioned in surprise.
"The big herbivores were easy to find. Can you isolate those raptors?" Weebly spoke, Owen and I spinning towards him.
"'Those raptors'?" I questioned, my teeth jutting out quite a bit as I looked to the man who paled slightly.
"W-Well yeah, We need both the remaining raptors" He stated before the beeping on the monitor caught my attention.
"There she is" Owen spoke, Weebly moving forwards a bit.
"But where's the other one?" Franklin questioned, his voice raising a little bit.
"Tracker must have come out" Owen and Claire spoke making me smirk a small bit.
"I'm gonna need to borrow your truck" Owen stated, swinging his backpack onto his shoulder.
"I'm coming with you. We don't know what sort of condition she might " Zia stated, her too placing her backpack on her shoulder.
"Miss, things could get hairy out there" Weebly stated as he moved towards her.
I quickly moved towards Weebly, grabbing onto his shoulder and pulling one of the the blue sedative needles out of his pocket, Zia grabbing it from me and moving it to his face.
"These are powerful sedatives, one too many and she could have respiratory failure. Also, im not as soft and witless as your comment applies" She stated, sliding the needle back into place and walking for the exit, "Let's go Beefcakes".
I chuckled as I watched her walk out, my hand moving away from Weebly's shoulder as I noticed him shiver.
"Owen, Moon" Claire called, "Be careful, okay?".
"If we don't make it back, remember, you're the one who made us come" Owen replied with a serious tone as I shook my head, pushing the man out of the way and wrapping an arm around the smaller redhead.
"We'll be fine, Claire. Trust me, I won't let Zia get eaten" I said quietly, tightening my embrace before letting go and walking away.
"Oi! What about me?" Owen called after me making me bark a laugh.
