《Pantala High School》Blue 1

Blue sat at the breakfast table, his head resting on his folded hands, watching his half sister fidget and tangle with her hair. She hadn't touched the bowl of cereal in front of her.
Luna was a pretty girl of sixteen. She was tall, with long blonde hair that was usually pinned back with a hair clip. Her eyes were a light pale green and she had a dusting of freckles on her light face. She wore a dark green sweatshirt, black leggings, and white sneakers.
Blue wasn't quite as tall as Luna, but he shared her light skin and freckles. His eyes were a bright blue rather than green, however.
When Luna saw Blue watching her, she forced a reassuring grin.
"It's okay to be nervous." Blue said kindly.
"You have just as much reason to be nervous as well." She retorted, really smiling now. "It's our first day of school since moving."
"Yeah but you," Blue pointed a finger at his sister, "are getting your drivers license today."
He was nervous about school. He had recently turned fifteen and switching schools was not the worst thing that could be happening. Everything had changed and was different. Part of him wished they stayed in their old city, it was terrible, but at least it was familiar. Luna and Blue's father, Admiral, had been married to Silverspot long enough to have Luna, then he got divorced and married Burnet and had Blue. Around when Blue and Luna were fifteen, Burnet and Silverspot (who had grown close in this time) discovered Admiral was involved in a government scheme. After a lengthy court battle, Burnet divorced him, and she and Silverspot got full custody of Blue and Luna. And afterwards, Burnet and Silverspot got married, which worked out better than anyone could have hoped for.

But when they moved to a different city to avoid Admiral entirely, that meant changing schools.
Luna guessed what Blue was thinking, she had a knack for that, and she said, "Perk up! We will make loads of friends here! And Swordtail goes to this school."
Swordtail, Who used to be Luna's "long-distance boyfriend" will now just be her "boyfriend". Blue liked him. Swordtail was spunky and energetic, always ready to do something. And now at this new school, he might be Blue's only friend.
Burnet and Silverspot came into the kitchen, one much faster than the other. Silverspot was tall with the same long blonde hair as her daughter, but it was already staring to grey slightly, it was pulled together in a ponytail. She had a sharp nose but loving gentle grey eyes. She wore a light grey suit and was rushing around the kitchen. As she was the breadwinner in the family, she was usually out of the house before the kids were awake, but she knew today was important for Luna and managed to leave later than usual to wish her daughter good luck.
Silverspot came over to the table and Luna stood to receive the hug. Luna was almost as tall as her mother know and met her gaze. "I know you'll do amazing, honey. Good luck." She gave her another hug, grabbed a bagel from the counter, blew a kiss to Burnet and hurried out the door.
Burnet wasn't much shorter than her wife, and had very short, brown hair with a magenta streak. She had a pleasant, round face and soft brown eyes. She wore a simple pink blouse and jeans. She carried her large purse in one hand, and her car keys in the other. "Are we ready?"
Blues looked down at his clothes to make sure he hadn't spilled milk on himself. Nope, his blue tee shirt and jeans were still clean.
Grabbing their backpacks, they left the house and climbed into Burnet's red car. Blue sat in the back while Luna sat shotgun.
As they turned off Cicada Street, Blue wondered if this was anyone else's first day, and whether they were as worried as he was.

Meanwhile, ancient and powerful forces clash in the shadows, racing across the globe to secure powerful artifacts capable of upending the foundations of the world. New chapters released every MWF. Sorry for the random tiny chapters. I structured and uploaded this as a series of scenes, some of which just didn't need to be very long. I could probably attach the "sub-scenes" to previous chapters, but that'd only be covering it up, so I'm not sure its worth it. Anyway if you find them annoying, let me know, and I'll put some more thought into it. I did, at least, make a point of always posting at least a thousand words on any given day (after I noticed the problem), which hopefully mitigates the problem.
