Something all writers experience at one time of their lives is writer's block. You're struggling for ideas, don't know how to word anything, and your creativity flow is just gone.

In this chapter I will be explaining how to overcome it and avoid it, and how to organize your ideas.

One of the easiest ways to overcome writer's block is too read. Go back and read what you've written so far, or read a random book. When I was writing my newest chapter of The Tournament of Champions, I had severe writer's block. I barely had an idea, and didn't know how to word it.

Because the book is similar to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I didn't have the book with me, so I read a few fanfictions. It immediately gave me an idea and a way to write it.

For Percy Jackson, I strongly recommend going to read a one shot book. They have a bunch of ideas, and are quick and easy to read.

Another way to get rid of your writer's block is to use writers prompts, chapter starters, and other things. There are plenty of idea books on Wattpad, and writing prompts. Look for something that inspires you.

@The_Story_Nerds has a chapter by chapter challenge. If you're ever trying to write a superhero story, look at that for a reference on good writing.

Here's a story starter if you need one.

Interesting, right? I don't know where that is going, but it sounds like something I'd read. Somebody make a book out of this!

Even if it's just the bare bones of the story. You don't have to know everything that's going to happen at the beginning, just try to have an idea of what's going to happen next. I wish I had started to plan when I wrote my stories.

Now, this isn't a tip on how to cure writer's block. It's a tip to avoid it. If you write chapters ahead of time, you can have writer's block, but it won't matter. You already have the chapter ready, all you need to do is edit a little.

Now, there are many forms of writer's block, and I'm going to dive into one specifically.

Have you ever had an idea, but don't know how to word it? It's amazing, it would be a best seller, but you don't know where to start, and can't seem to get it on paper. This is a common type of writer's block for beginners.

One of the best ways to overcome it is to write it all on paper. You might not be able to get it ready today, but at least you'll have it tomorrow. You need to start slow. Don't expect everything you just wrote to blow up.

Take your time, and read over it. Think if you would find this in a bookstore, or if this is something Rick Riordan would write. Now, not all of us can write like Rick, and that's good. You shouldn't.

What you should be able to do is write like YOU. You have a unique writing style, and it might not be drawing all of those reads in, but that's okay.

Always take your time with writer's block. It takes time for it to leave, but it will.

Until next time!
