《The Ultimate Guide To Writing PJO Fanfics》Tip-Trying to get more reads?

You may be a small account like mine, and you want to get more reads, or votes, or follows.

Well, here are the Do's and Don'ts of getting follows and votes.

If you're trying to get more reads, the polite way is to make friends and share your story. Now, here's what I'm going to say, right here, right now.

Here's an example of what you would write to a follower, or somebody who you think writes good stories.

Hey! I noticed you're a PJO fan. Me too! I was reading your fanfic, and I loved it! I'm writing one, and if you have time, I would love your feedback.

Now, I put some parts in bold, because they are key points in the conversation.

I noticed you're a PJO fan. Me too!-Gives you a common interest, and something to talk about.

If you have time-Politeness is always a good thing.

- Shows your not just read and vote hungry, and actually care

- Reaffirms your politeness.

Another thing is to vote on stories you like.

This is less effective on big stories, but the author may see you voting, and think, "Hey, who is this person?"

They might go into your account, and see that you're a writer. They'll check out your stories, and if they think they're interesting, they'll read.

Now, I usually leave a little message at the end of my chapters that say

You can put it in a nicer way, but reminding people to vote generally works.

Here's the difference

*Skips over paragraph to end of story*

I think you meant since, not sense. I still like the plot and idea, though!

Good Story.

Please Update!!! I like this!

You see the difference? You don't want some read for read. You want honest feedback, from actual people who want to read it.

Now, here is a good tip. If you want readers, update regularly, comment on others stories, and try to socialize. The more people you meet, the better. You want actual people to read, not just numbers.

Get into a good argument once in a while, trust me, it helps.

Try to have good grammar for at least the first few chapters. After about your seventh chapter, you can have a mistake every now and then.

My last tip. Enter your story into contests! It doesn't matter if it doesn't win, they still have to judge it. It's a great way to get feedback, and prizes can include follows, votes, and shout outs!

A good competition to enter is "The Wonderworks Story Contest" by BackspaceBanner.

First place gets , a , a and their book gets put into our

Don't paste a link to your story and send it to a bunch of people.

Ask people who specifically ask for no read requests for read requests.

Make fake friends for the sake of reads and votes.

Make another account just for reads and votes.

Tag a bunch of random people so they come to your story.

Follow 700 people in hope that they follow you back.

Lie on feedback because they gave you a negative or positive review.

Lie about a common interest (Example: Lying that you read Percy Jackson just so they'll check your book)

Make several spelling mistakes at the beginning, and then let the writing get better as you go.

Ask people who specifically say don't ask for follow requests, read requests, or vote requests for any of those things.

Spam random people.

Say "I'm not continuing this book until we get 100 votes." or something like that.
