The End
Here's what a good authors table of contents looks like.
Some tips on how to be a good updater.
Chances are, you're not going to get many in a three chapter story.
Discontinuing a book is a bad choice. Put the book up for adoption, tell the readers to vote on an ending, or just hastily written end it and say there will be a sequel.
It's okay to have an authors note every once in a while, but don't have more than 5 in your whole story, and clearly mark them. If they're important, you might want to add it at the end of the chapter, because people skip author's notes.
Updating is the best way to get readers and votes, and possibly get discovered.
Now here's a secret. Me, I have maybe seven books. I've lost track at this point. The way I juggle them all is leaving people on cliff hangers, and updating everyday.
You leave the reader on a cliffhanger, there hungry for more. Now, what you don't do is leave them on a cliffhanger for months. It won't work, and they often don't come back.
If you update everyday, it really helps. In this book, I try not to keep the chapters too long or too short. They're usually under 1000 words, but over 300. As long as you keep constant and at about the same amount of words, people read.
Now, let's say you're on vacation, and you can't bring your computer or laptop with you, and you don't have a phone. Or maybe your parents confiscated it, (If you're under 18 like most people on Wattpad.)

Put on your profile that you're on vacation, it really helps people. Ask somebody to answer questions, and put some recommendations to read while you're gone.
If you have a friend who you trust very, very much, then you can write a few chapters and ask your friend to log on and post them while you're away.
Now, that is really not a fool proof plan, and you need a friend who you really trust.
Have a schedule for updates, and post it on your profile page.
I update everyday. Or at least try to. My update time is going to go down when Coronavirus dies down, so I've been trying to update everyday.
Tell yourself when you're going to update. Leave a sticky note, or some other note.
One of the easiest things to do is write chapters in advance.
Now, I don't edit my chapters. If I happen to read it and find a mistake, yes I'll change it, but I don't always go back and proofread. Don't be like me, proofread your stories!
Don't write chapters in one day like I do. Take time and craft it to what you think looks good.
If you wouldn't read it, don't post it. Write decent size chapters. If it's too long, turn it into two. If it's too short, take another day to write it.
If you see grammar mistakes, please fix them. Texting language is not very good for your book, unless it's a theme.
Let's say I'm writing a Percabeth Highschool AU.
