Y/n and The Crystal Gems had arrived at a new location by warping

Steven looks up amazed. "Woah! What magical place of mysteries is this?" Steven asks.

"Well... Amethyst starts.

"Oh, I'm so glad you asked!" Pearl says quickly interrupting Amethyst. "This was once a communication hub for Gem-kind." She walks over to the pillars of the hub. "But lately, it's begun transmitting bursts of electromagnetic interference!"

"Whazzat mean?" Steven asks not understanding.

"It's hurting television." Garnet says simply.

"Noooooooo! I'll save you television! HA-YAH!" Steven tries to kick and push over a pillar.

Amethyst lifts Steven up. "Sorry, but we need a Steven at least... " She shapeshifts into a stronger-looking Steven with a deeper voice. "this strong for this job!"

Steven gasps. "It's all the me I could be!"

Y/n touches the pillar now as he turns to look at all the other pillars in the background. "There's a lot of pillars..." He comments.

Amethyst puts Steven down, and starts punching at the pillar as the strong Steven. Pearl catches a small piece of the pillar punched off by Amethyst and begins lecturing her. "Amethyst, Y/n's observation was correct, We could be here all day taking out these pillars individually."

"Ugh, I hate it when you're right. You get this look on your face..." She says and looks at Pearl's face.

"Yeah, that's the one."

"What we need is a well thought out plan." Pearl says now.

Pearl's gem starts to project a hologram, when Garnet interrupts. "No. What we need is Sugilite. Amethyst, fuse with me."

"WHAAAT?!" Both Pearl and Amethyst cry in shock before Amethyst begins to scream in excitement and Pearl looks annoyed.

"Yeah! Let's mash it up!" Amethyst cheers excitedly holding Garnet's hand. "Bigger, badder, better! Ohohohohoho!" She twirls around.

"Are... you guys going to do that Fusion thing you and Pearl did before?" Y/n asks Amethyst.

Amethyst replies excitedly with a scream. Steven joins in the screaming in excitement too.

"WAIT! " Pearl calls out now and she turns to Garnet. "Garnet, think about this. You and Amethyst can be a little... eheh... unstable when your personalities combine. We need to be careful! Fuse with me instead." She suggests.

Garnet places her hand over Pearl's shoulder. "We don't need to be careful. We just need to be huge." She says

"Oh, yeah! Let's wreck this joint!" Amethyst cries.

"Synchronize." Garnet says as she moves into a postion and her gemstones begin to glow as she starts to dance.

Steven eyes gets covered by Pearl. "Wha-? Whu-? Pearl, come on! I wanna see!" Steven says as he prys her fingers away.

"I feel like even I shouldn't be watching this..." Y/n says uncomfortable as Garnet and Amethyst continues their fusion dance, fusing together and forming Sugilite.

"Hahahahaha!" Sugilite laughs and cracks their knuckles. "I forgot how great it feels to be me!"

"That's Sugilite?" Steven asks.

"You got it, baby. Hey, Y/n, Steven, wanna see something cool?" Sugilite asks.

"Yeah!" Steven cheers.

"Um..." Y/n stammers unsure of what was happening.

Sugilite summons Garnet's gauntlets and Amethyst's whip, and fuses them together to form a large flail. Steven gasps loudly in amazement.

"You like that, little man?" Sugilite asks.

"Are you gonna smash stuff with your wrecking-ball-thingy?" Steven asks.

"That's the plan! Where should I start?" Sugilite says.

"Do that one!" Steven points to a nearby pillar.

Sugilite proceeds to smash some pillars with her flails and debris is thrown across the place.

"Steven, Y/n. I think we should go." Pearl says now as she ushers the two towards the warp pad.

"I'm not going argue." Y/n says as he agrees with Pearl sensing trouble was ahead.

"No way! This is awesome!" Steven says however.

Sugilite continues smashing more pillars, causing more debris to fall everywhere.

"Watch it!" Pearl cries as she kicks away a debris heading towards her, Y/n and Steven but a small rock then hits Steven in the face, knocking him onto the ground

"Steven!" Y/n cries as he quickly moves to check on him. "You okay?"

"I'm..okay." Steven says rubbing his head.

Pearl turns to Sugilite now. "Ugh, you're just too much!" She yells.

"Maybe you're just too little!" Sugilite laughs.

"Steven, Y/n we're going!" Pearl says picking Steven up now.

"What? I'm fine!" Steven says as he tries to get out of Pearl's grasp but it's useless. "What about Sugilite?" He asks.

Y/n walks besides the two as he joins them on the warp pad.

"She can find her own way home!" Pearl replies to Steven.

"Awww..." Steven sighs and Y/n, Pearl and Steven warp away, just before a huge rock destroys the Warp Pad.

It was the next day and Steven enters the Big Donut wearing sunglasses and a big roll of gauze wrapped around his head. "Sup?"

Lars was sat at a table eating his lunch on his break when Sadie sees Steven and rushes towards him worried. "Whoa! Steven, what happened to you?" She asks.

"Oh just a little battle damage from our last mission." Steven says brushing it off.

"Really?" Sadie asks.

"Like what?" Lars then asks.

"I got hit by a rock!" Steven lifts up his gauze, revealing a tiny cut on his forehead. Both Sadie and Lars starts laughing at Steven's "battle damage".

"It must not have been a very big rock." Sadie laughs.

Steven covers up the cut in embarrassment. "Well, there's... internal bleeding. My hurt is on the inside!"

Sadie keeps laughing. "Oh, okay!"

Lars also keeps laughing. "Toughen up, Steven!"

Steven takes his gauze off. "You're right. I'm soft."

"If I weren't so modest, I'd whip out my sweet six-pack and..." Lars starts as he struggles to open a can of sardines "...show you what... a real man... looks like..." He grunts, Sadie offers to open the can now and Lars reluctantly passes the can to her and she opens it with ease, returning it to Lars. "Nah... I'm not gonna say thanks." He says before he gets punched in the leg by Sadie "Aha... aha...."

"That's it! We all need a workout! Let's do it! Let's workout together!" Steven cheers before he points to Sadie. "You can beat up Lars!" He says and she grins before Steven turns to Lars. "And you don't have to starve to death if Sadie divorces you!"

"We're not married!" Lars quickly calls out.

"And I know just the guys to help us out." Steven says ignoring Lar's comment.

Greg is fast asleep on a workbench, after constructing a makeshift gym on the beach. Steven, Lars and Sadie arrive wearing workout outfits.

"Wow! This looks great!" Steven cheers loudly.

"Huh...? Wha?" Greg stammers as he wakes up from his nap.

"Hey, Dad!" Steven calls out now.

"Hey, Steven, you like it? It's the best I can do on such short notice." Greg tells him.

Lars picks up a dumbbell made of cans, which quickly falls apart. "No kidding." He comments to Sadie.

"Well, I might join you kids show you how it's done." Greg says now. "I've been slacking on my workout routine for few weeks... months... years..." He coughs. "Decades."

"Sure!" Steven says delighted. "The more the meatier! We're just waiting for Y/n then we can start." Steven says happily before he suddenly remembers something. "Oh! We'll also need sweatbands!"

As Steven rushed up the beach house stairs Y/n arrived in a different than usual. Instead of his usual jeans and t-shirt with a denim jacket he was wearing black shorts and a black tank top.

"Hey." He calls out getting the attention of the three.

"Nice to see you Y/n." Greg says with a smile.

"Hi Greg." Y/n says back. "Lars, and...Sadie right?"

"That's right." Sadie confirms. "Surprised you remembered." She chuckles. "You here to workout too?" She asks.

Y/n nods his head. "I was surprised when Steven said he wanted to set up a gym, but I thought it might be fun to try working out with others." Y/n admits as he begins to warm up.

Pearl now passes by the gym as Greg picks up a real dumbbell.

"Hey, Pearl." Greg greets her. "Come to check out some buff studs?" He jokes.

Pearl looks at Y/n who was nearby now stretching his arms out before she turns back to Greg unimpressed. "No." She says bluntly before she walks up to the beach house stairs.

As she walks up the stairs she can see Steven stood on the porch. "Steven, what on earth are you up to?" She asks confused.

"We're starting a gym!" Steven flexes and Pearl smiles a little. "Imma get super strong! Like Sugilite!" Steven then says and Pearl's smile disappears.

"You know, maybe this isn't a good idea." Pearl suggests to him.

"What? I wanna be strong so I can be useful to the team!" Steven says.

"There are different ways of being strong." Pearl tells him.

"But I want to be strong in the real way. Come on, Pearl." Steven says as he puts on a sweatband. "Let's get beefy!"

"I'd rather not." Pearl pouts and she enters the house.

Pearl sighs as she closes the door behind.

"Steven..."

She sings as she picks up Steven's clothes on the floor.

She sees everyone working out through the windows and pulls down the blinds in disapproval.

All the while, Steven had peeking and eavesdropping on Pearl's song. Determined by it, Steven returns to the gym and turns up the volume of his stereo and begins to yell into his megaphone at the gym. "Who's ready to get buff? I don't wanna see your gut, I wanna see your guts!"

Steven sees Pearl looking at them from the porch, but she quickly looks away and goes back inside the house.

He begins to hand out some gym equipment.

Steven continues instructing and inspiring everyone with the workout.

After he stops singing, everyone but Y/n is visibly tired out.

"Hey, Steven, maybe um, you can work out a bit, too?" Sadie suggests.

"Huh? I have been." Steven says confused.

"We've been working out. You've just been singing some dumb song." Lars tells him.

"But you're doing a great job pumping us up." Greg is quick to add.

"Thanks, but I need to get strong, too. I'm switching to four-wheel drive!" Steven cheers as he puts four tires on his body and begins running around.

"Just be careful not to overdo it everyone." Y/n says and the three look at him. "Getting in shape is great, but we all have to make sure we don't over do it. Otherwise you risk doing more harm to your body then good." Y/n tells them.

"Wow, you seem to know a lot Y/n." Greg says out breath.

"Well, I've been trying to take better care of my body since I started sword training with Pearl." Y/n says. "I need to be able to give my best If I'm going to be able to help." Y/n explains.

"You sword train with Pearl now?" Greg asks.

"It's kind of a recent thing." Y/n says rubbing the back of his head.

It was the next day at sunrise. Y/n, Sadie, Lars, and Greg are all waiting outside the house for Steven.

"Steven, come on! We're ready to get started! We can't work out without your mad coaching skills!" Sadie calls out.

Steven however was laid on his bed as he groans in pain from the exercise the day before. "Be there in a sec!" He calls out a he struggles to get off of bed and down the stairs. "So sore from getting ripped..."

"I don't understand. Amethyst and Garnet still aren't back yet." Steven hears Pearl's voice cry out from near the warp pad and he turns to look at her. "I tried to warp back to check on them, but the warp pad is down!" Suddenly, the ground starts to shake and voices can be heard outside.

"What?!" Lars and Greg cry out.

"Are you seeing this too?!" Sadie asks.

"Oh no..." Y/n's voice could then be heard saying.

The house starts to rumble and crumbles falls from the ceiling. Pearl and Steven quickly exit the house and see Sugilite in the distance, marching towards them in the ocean.

"What the hey is that?!" Greg asks.

Lars falls off from the makeshift monkey bars "Oohoomph!"

Sugilite arrives at the beach and everyone but Y/n, Steven and Pearl run away in fear. "I'm BORED!!!!!" Sugilite roars.

"It's Sugilite!" Steven cheers.

Pearl carefully approaches Sugilite. "Y-you're back!" She says cautiously.

"You left me behind!" Sugilite says angrily.

"We just thought you didn't need any help. Now why don't you separate, and we can all sit down and relax?" Pearl suggests.

"NO!" Sugilite shouts before she kicks Pearl.

"Pearl!" Y/n and Steven call out worried.

Pearl picks herself up. "Listen to me! You've been fused for too long! You're losing yourselves!"

"I am myself, and I'm sick of being split up! So you better get used to me, baby, and get this junk of my beach!" Sugilite cries as she destroys the makeshift gym.

Steven struggles over to Pearl. "Why is she wrecking Dad's gym? Why is she attacking you?!"

"Steven, get out of here!" Pearl says as she lifts Steven up and tosses him away towards Y/n.

Steven lands stomach-down on the ground and is stuck limp. "I can't move..." He moans in pain to Y/n.

Pearl summons her spear and stances herself for battle.

"What, you wanna fight?!" Sugilite asks annoyed now.

"You'll thank me later!" Pearl says. Pearl leaps towards Sugilite, but she is quickly swatted away.

Greg hurries over to Y/n and Steven now. "Come on, kids!" He says to the two as he helps Steven to get up.

"Dad, no! Pearl!" Steven calls out worried as the three watch Pearl stands back up and leaps up again, this time, managing to knock off Sugilite's visor with her spear.

"You think you're something?" Sugilite growls. "You!" She headbutts Pearl to the ground. "Ain't!" She hits Pearl into the sky. "Nothing!!!" She smacks Pearl into the ground from the sky.

Sugilite then attempts to crush Pearl with her flail, but barely misses her. It does however send Steven, Y/n and Greg flying some distance into the sand and damages Steven's house.

"My muscles!" Steven groans.

Y/n lands roughly as he finds himself winded by the experience.

"Steven! Ugh..." Pearl groans and kneels in pain as she starts to cry. I'm sorry, Steven...Y/n... Garnet, Amethyst..." Pearl sniffs. "I wasn't strong enough to protect you. I'm not strong enough to do anything..." She laments weakly.

Steven then sees the megaphone nearby and crawls towards it. "Come on, Pearl! Don't give up! I know you can take her down!" Steven cries into it. "You always know what to do! You gotta show her what you showed me! That you're strong, Pearl! Strong in the real way!"

"I can't...I'm not strong enough." Pearl begins to say weakly again.

"Neither am I..." A voice says and Pearl looks to see Y/n was still recovering from being winded but was pushing himself up now. "But that doesn't mean I'm going to give up. No matter what's thrown at me...I 'll run towards it." He says determined as he makes his way over to her. "Because strength does not come from winning. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is being strong. You're the only one who can do this Pearl." Y/n starts now. "I believe in you, because I know you can do it." Y/n says with a tired smile to her.

Pearl looks up at Y/n before she turns her head to the Crystal Temple and, regaining some confidence, she slowly pulls herself back on her feet.

"What?! You want some more?!" Sugilite asks.

"Anytime! You're no match for me! Not even close!" Pearl shouts back filled with determination now.

Sugilite punches towards Pearl, which she dodges and pushes Y/n out of the way of before she then runs away towards the cliff. Sugilite growls then chases after Pearl up to the lighthouse on the cliff.

"Get back here!" Sugilite shouts angrily.

Pearl leaps off the cliff edge now .

Sugilite laughs. "Nice try." Sugilite starts swinging her flail. Pearl then hurls her spear at the ground underneath Sugilite, causing her to lose her footing, fall off the cliff and crash onto the beach.

"Is that all you got? You think that's enough to be..." Sugilite's flail lands smack on her head, separating her back into Garnet and Amethyst in a poof of purple cloud.

"Amethyst, Garnet! Are you OK!?" Steven cries out worried.

"Yeah..." Garnet voice starts weakly. "Sugilite just overworked our bodies. It's... a little painful.

"And I've got a monster headache." Amethyst groans.

Pearl pulls Garnet and Amethyst for a tearful hug. Garnet and Amethyst groan in pain as the sound of something cracking is heard, causing Pearl to quickly release them.

"Oh..." Pearl chuckles. "Whoops."

"Pearl, you did it." Y/n says congratulating her.

"Thanks." Pearl says panting. "You make a good coach."

"I'll just stick to being you're student for now." Y/n says with a smile.

"Pearl, we should've listened... You were right." Garnet admits.

"Yeah. I was right." Pearl says.

"Go, Pearl!" Steven cheers.

"Come on! I feel great! Who's up for a mission?! Or..." Pearl continues shouting in the background.

"How long is she going to keep this up?" Amethyst asks.

"You two deserve it I'm afraid." Y/n says with a chuckle.

"Take it like a Gem." Garnet says in agreement with Y/n's statement.

"Uh, what the heck just happened?" Lars asks confused.

"Drop and give me 20!!!!!" Steven cries into the megaphone.
