《The Beginning of the Age of Heroes》Chapter 18

It took a few days to get to land and once they did, they all had to walk a long way until they finally saw what looked like a city that was carved into the mountain side. The heroes assumed that this was Nanda Parbot, where they would be spending most of the next three years finishing their training.

"Well, this place looks interesting. I can see there is no modern technology here, which I guess that is a good thing being that we don't need distractions while we are training." Oliver said.

"Yes, training is the most important thing that you will do here, and it will be taking up most of your time, until you are ready to be set out on the world as assassins." Nyssa said.

"We are somewhat used to that with being trapped on that island for two years. We are not used to technology, so there is no real loss in not having it around." Laurel said.

"That does make sense. So, when do we start our training?" Sara asked.

"First, you must meet Ras Al Ghuk, You will pledge your loyalty to him, and then we will start your training." Nyssa said as the heroes followed her to the throne room.

. . .

Not long later the heroes were escorted into the throne room where they saw a man sitting on the throne and assumed that this must be Ras Al Ghul. "What do we have here, Nyssa?" Ras asked.

"I have brought you some new recruits, father. They are willing to learn all of our teachings and will be loyal to you." Nyssa said.

"I see. Very well. We will see where you stand with your skills as of right now and then we will work on you from that point and make you into some of the best fighters in the world." Ras said.

The heroes got down on their knees and bowed to their master, knowing that this would be required. Ras then asked them to stand and Nyssa took them to a room where they would see what the new recruits could do.

"I want to see what you can do against one of my own students. It will show me where you need the work while also showing me where you already excel." Ras said and the heroes nodded.

After the heroes had shown Ras what they could do, he was very impressed with what they already knew and knew that they would pick everything up rather quickly from the way that things looked. The heroes then started their training with learning things that they didn't know already.

"I am very impressed. You will be working with Nyssa and some of my other students with your training for now. Once I see what you are capable of, some you might even get to be trained by me. I do not take students on very often. They have to be very good for that to happen." Ras said.

"Thank you, Master. We hope that all of us are able to train under you at some point." Oliver said.

"Very well. While you are training I want you to think of new names for yourselves. Being a part of the League of Assassins means that you have to throw away your past life." Ras said.

"Yes Master." The heroes all said as they got to training with their new teachers.

. . .

Ras had given them until the next day to come up with their names. Right now they were resting from a hard day of training. Oliver and Laurel had their own room. As did Barry and Kara. Sara was with Shado, which left Thea in her own room, which Oliver didn't like too much, so he got another bed moved into his and Laurel's room so that his sister would never be alone in this place. He knew that Thea could use her powers if need be to protect herself, but he didn't want to take the chance of someone sneaking up on her.

"Thank you for letting me stay in here with you and Laurel, Ollie. I can take care of myself, but what happens if someone were to sneak up on me?" Thea asked.

"I was thinking the same thing. That is why you are in here." Oliver said.

"Yeah, Speedy. We would never leave you alone here with the way that we know that the League is." Laurel said.

"So, what do y'all think of the training so far?" Thea asked.

"It is a lot more work then what we have been doing so far, but I do have to say that I am learning a lot already." Laurel said.

"I agree. I think we are going to be very dangerous once we get out of the League and head back to Starling City." Oliver said.

"I hurt all over. I thought we would be done with that after we started training with Slade and the others on the island, but I think I actually used other muscles that I have never used before." Thea said.

"I agree with you Speedy. I am just as sore now as I was when we started our training on the island. I guess it does have it's positives though. We are going to be very strong when we get out of here. I wonder how we are going to explain that to everyone being that we were supposed to be on the island the whole time." Laurel said.

"We will figure something out, but you do make a good point." Oliver said since he knew that they should be skin and bones if they had been on the island the whole time.

"Yeah, I guess we will. Although we know we can't tell them where we have really been. I don't think a secret society of assassins would like it if someone spoke about them to the public." Laurel said.

"That is a good point. Now let's get some rest. We are going to have an even longer day tomorrow." Oliver said as they all laid down and went to sleep.
