2002
Something came from outer space and once it got close enough you could tell that it was a space. It landed out in the desert, so there were no witnesses near the crash site. The first person to arrive was Superman and he ripped open the ship and found that it was a Kryptonian girl inside. He later found out that it was his cousin who had been sent to earth to watch over him as he grew up. He found out that she had been stuck in the Phantom Zone for twenty-four years. Clark didn't have the time to look after her, so he took her to people that he trusted with his life and his secret. He took his cousin Kara to live with the Queens who were members of a group call Veritas, who knew of his arrival before he even came to earth. Kara would be in good hands with the Queens, and she would be able to have a normal life and friendship with the Queen children.
In that same year something happened that no one would believe except for Barry Allen. His mother was killed by a man that had superspeed and was in a yellow suit. No one believed what he was telling them and because of that his father was put in prison for the murder of his mother. He was sent to live with the Lances, who had two daughter that were around his age and they were all friends anyways. In this situation he would have two sisters that would look out for him and he would also look out for them.

Today was the graduation day of Oliver, Laurel, Kara, and Barry. They got their diploma, and they were now at the party that their parents were throwing all of them.
"Hey guys, my dad agreed to let us take out the Queen's Gambit to celebrate our graduation. Are you guys in?" Oliver asked.

"You know I am in. You know dad and mom would never let you go without me." Kara said.
"I will go and check with mom and dad. I am sure they would agree." Laurel said and Barry nodded.
"You know that Sara is going to want to go because we are the people that she hangs out with anyways." Barry said.
"I was expecting that as well. She is more than welcome come." Oliver said.
"Dad said it was fine for all of us to go and that we have to take Sara." Laurel said.
"As I told Barry, I was expecting that." Oliver said.
"Ok, so when will we be heading out to see?" Barry asked.
"Tomorrow morning. Get a good night's sleep because I am pretty sure we won't be sleep much on the Gambit because we are having too much fun." Oliver said and everyone nodded before going in their separate directions to get ready for their trip.
The next morning the five friends met up at the docks of Starling City Marina so that they could board the Queen's Gambit. Once they were all onboard, they all went to find their rooms and get situated. Oliver and Laurel were sharing a room since they were a couple and Barry, and Kara were also sharing a room being that they were a couple. Sara looked around her room and was happy that she had all of that big bed all to herself. Little did they know that twelve-year-old Thea had snuck on board as well. They teens found Thea hiding in one of the rooms that was not being used and they were not sure how she had gotten onboard without them knowing.
"Thea. What the hell are you doing here?" Oliver asked.
"I didn't think it was right that you got to go on a trip, and I didn't, so I snuck on the boat while y'all were not paying attention." Thea said.

"Well, you are here now, and it is too late to turn back and take you home. I will call mom and let her know you are here." Kara said.
Kara picked up the satellite phone and called home. "Hi mom, we just wanted you to know that Thea snuck on the boat and we didn't know until now. It is too late to turn back so we will take care of her." Kara said.
"Thanks for calling Kara. We were starting to get worried." Moira said.
"She is fine, and I will make sure that she doesn't act up too much." Kara said.
"Thank you dear. Now go and have some fun." Moira said and she hung up.
"Well, looks like everything is ok. You just need to make sure you don't act up." Kara said and Thea smiled. She looked hanging out with the older kids.
"Sara do you mind if Thea sleeps with you?" Oliver asked.
"Oh, come on. I was looking forward to that big bed all to myself." Sara said.
"That bed is so big, you won't even know she is there." Kara said.
"Fine. Come on Speedy. Let's get you settled." Sara said as Thea followed her to the room.
"At least she won't cramp our style to much. We should be used to her following us around since she does it all the time anyways." Kara said.
"That is true. Plus, I love that little girl like she was my little sister anyways." Laurel said.
"I know what you mean. I think all of us would protect her with our lives." Barry said.
"That we would. So, how about we get started with this celebration. I think we have waited long enough." Oliver said.
"I agree, I have been waiting for this for a long time." Laurel said as she took a swig of her drink and so did all the rest of the passengers, except for Thea.
They all went to bed a couple of hours later and in the middle of the night a storm popped up out of nowhere and it woke them all up. Oliver went to see the captain and see what was going on and the Captain said that everything was ok, so Oliver believed him. Once he got back to his room the waves were really starting to get rough outside. All of a sudden, the boat felt like it was going to tip over and everyone was sucked out of the boat. Oliver was able to find the life raft and all six of the kids were able to get in the raft.
A couple of days later they saw land and so they all used their arms to make the raft go towards the island. Once they were on land they looked around and thought that it would be good to find some kind of shelter for them while they were there.
"I can get us all out of here." Kara said quietly to Oliver.
"No, if you do that, everyone will have to many questions. We need to play this out for now. At least for a couple of days." Oliver said.
"If you think that is the best, I will go with what you think." Kara said.
"I do. We will be fine with you here." Oliver said and Kara nodded.
Barry yelled for them all to come where he was and when they did, they saw that he had found a cave that they could take shelter in for a couple of days. They just needed to work together now to make sure everyone stayed safe and was able to get home.

CW: Contains mildly graphic scenes of violence/death, topics of unwanted pregnancy/abortion, scientific experimentation on sapient beings, depression/suicide, grief, and trauma. The tone of this fiction is often dark and distinctly dystopian in lighter shades of Margaret Atwood, though where there is darkness there is always hope and light. On Hiatus Until September When the School Year Begins and Mom This story takes a considerable amount of time and mental energy to complete. I thought I had enough backlog and time to post it as a serial while COVID kept my child home from school, but it turns out while I can quickly write other pieces, I cannot produce the quality I need with this one at an acceptable rate. We'll resume in September when my days are much freer. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned for a different storytelling romp more suited for a serial platform in the meantime.
