Barry was at a crime scene where he was casing any evidence he could find. "Allen" Singh says "So this is where the Moretti brothers have been stashing their weapons. Whoever had the guts to rob them are running fast and loose and if we don't stop them, we could have a war on our hand"

"Don't worry Central City's finest are on the case" Nora says

"I'm sorry who are you?" Singh asks her and Barry is still shocked that she is here

"Nora, I'm a CSI intern"

"You hired an intern, Allen?" His boss asks

"Yeah, I uh needed help with all the cases while I was suspended so I hired and intern, for free" Barry explained, and the captain walked away eyeing Nora suspiciously. "What are you doing here?" Barry asks Nora when Singh is gone.

"Well, I saw this badge and this jacket and thought I'm a CSI too ad maybe I can help also what is that?" Nora says walking towards a block of human tissue.

"I haven't gotten to that yet, but it looks like somebody wanted their pound of flesh" Barry says, and Nora touches the block with no gloves and Barry immediately says "Whoa, whoa what are you doing? You can't touch that you'll contaminate evidence"

"You mean you don't have a scene-wide modification bosonic frequency field to avoid cross contamination" Nora says

"I don't even think some of those words exist" Barry says, and Nora smiles innocently

"It just seems way denser than human tissue" Nora points out. They got to Star labs to do some DNA testing and Barry wanted to check on Dawn who is usually with Caitlin.

"We got a match" Cisco says "Vanessa Jansen, she was a low level drug dealer who worked for the skulls gang"

"I bumped in to a few of these guys while I was in prison" Barry says

"Your were in prison?" Nora says and Barry nods "That wasn't in the Flash museum

"Are there any places that she frequent?" Dawn asked

"East street auto haven, which is probably a front for gangs activity" Caitlin said

"Yes I get to take down my first bad guy" Nora says and looks at Barry "With your permission of course"

"Yeah let's go, Dawn do you wanna come?" Barry asked

"No I'm fine I probably be better here" She said

"Come it'll be fun" Barry said

"Your having fun on the field for a meta who can squash human beings into blocks" Dawn said

"You know what I mean" Barry said

"Ok" Dawn said. When they got there Vanessa was dealing with a weapons dealer.

"I'll take Vanessa and the drug dealer, you guys make sure that they have no backup" Barry said Dawn nodded but Nora wanted to prove herself.

"I can do better" Nora said and sped away from Barry and Dawn. She locked the Weapons dealer in a truck and locked it. "Sorry I can't let you hurt him" Nora says and was walking towards Vanessa when she was trapped in one of her blocks.

Barry jumped in and said "Vanessa stop"

"The Flash" Vanessa said "Guess I better put my hands up" which she did and Nora went flying and Barry went after her. Dawn saw that Vanessa was about to get away and sped near her and punched her in the face as she realised that she didn't have meta cuffs. Vanessa then wiped the blood that was coming out of her face and tried to shoot Dawn with a small block. Dawn tried to run from them and get closer to Vanessa again. She was getting closer but was blown back by a big blast from Vanessa who ran. Dawn hit her head and passed out. Barry and Nora came back and saw Dawn on the floor. Barry rushed to her side whereas Nora was looking for any trace of Vanessa.

"We need to back to Star Labs" Barry said with Dawn in his arms.

"Oh my god what happened?" Caitlin asks as Barry puts her down on the med bed.

"I don't know, Nora and I found her like this" he explained

"Ok, I need to do some tests to see whats wrong" Caitlin said and Barry nodded walking out of the room. Caitlin was running some test and Barry talked to Nora about being reckless in the field. Barry was sitting down the speed lab thinking about what has happened and Caitlin came in to tell him about Dawns condition. "Hey" she said

"Hey" he said in a deep voice

"What are you thinking because this isn't your it's all my fault face" she says and he chuckles "lay it on me" Caitlin says moving to sit next to him.

Barry smiled a little bit and explained his thoughts "I just Nora is so obsessed with proving that she is good in the field and Dawn had to pay the price. Now one of my daughters is injured and next time it could be so much worse. I just I hate putting them in constant danger and if something goes that badly wrong, I could lose them forever"

"Barry, things can always go wrong in the field remember when you first started" she said

"Yeah you always hated me going into the field to save people" Barry said

"Yeah I was so scared to lose you even though I just met you but you always came through. If your daughters are even a fraction like you they'll make it through too. They are strong just like you" Caitlin said

"Thanks Cait" he said

"Anytime" she said

"When I was first starting out as the flash, were you uptight because you didn't want to lose me." Barry said

"Well it wasn't the only reason. I did basically lose everything until you came along. You would be so dead if it wasn't for me though" Caitlin said "Also Dawn just has a minor concussion, she'll wake up soon"

"Thank you, also you're right I would be dead without you everyone in the building, no this city would be. You're a hero Cait and I'm so lucky to have you as one of my best friends" Barry says and walks away to go find Dawn. Friend. That word stung in Caitlins mind. He didn't know her feeling towards him and it hurt her, more than he would ever know. Barry went to go check on Dawn. He sat by her bed until he woke up. Dawn was stirring and about to wake up "Dawn" Barry said.

"Dad? What happened?" Dawn said sitting up.

"Vanessa hit you and you passed out" Barry said

"Oh god she got away didn't she" Dawn said

"And it's fine" Barry said rubbing her shoulder.

"No dad, we could've gotten Vanessa and she let her slip away" Nora said

"Maybe it wouldn't have been up to me if you could follow orders" Dawn said

"Oh you think your so tough, you better watch your tongue" Nora says

"What grudge do you have against me?" Dawn said

"You screwed up everything" Nora started and was about to continue when Barry interrupted.

"Enough both of you, I am sick and tired of you guys always fighting. If you guys can't work together in the field I'm afraid I'll have to bench you both" Barry said

"But dad" Nora said

"No buts or ifs, I make the decisions and I say neither of you are going in the field. If you can't work together you are putting our lives and the lives of innocent people at risk" Barry said

"Ok, I understand" Dawn said

"Yeah me too" Nora said and Barry nodded at both of the girls. Then the alarms start going off and Barry and Nora go into the cortex. "It's Vanessa" Cisco says "She is facing down with the rest of the gang"

"Dude do you mind coming with" Barry said

"Yeah let's go" Cisco said

They get there and the gang disappears so it is just between Vanessa and the duo. "Guys Vanessa gets tired you need to tire her out if you want to get close to her" Caitlin says. Cisco and Barry play a game of catch me if you can with Vanessa until she get to tired and Barry cuffs her. Nora and Caitlin cheer and Dawn walks in.

"What are you doing you should be resting?" Caitlin says

"I've rested enough" Dawn says and Caitlin smiles thinking how she is so much like her father.

"Well looks like our work here is done" Cisco says to Barry and Vanessa all of the sudden, was struck through in the chest by a lightning shaped dagger.

"I'll get her to a hospital and come right back" Barry said looking at Vanessa and then at the hooded figure. Before Barry could speed her away the man in the hood took the dagger out of her without even touching it. Barry left and when he came back his powers were gone. "My. powers are gone" Barry says

"Mine too" Cisco says. Barry goes to punch him but was stopped by the hooded man's hand. He fought Barry until Cisco stepped in and he was taken down by this man. The man's dagger is stuck in the ground and while Barry has this guy distracted Cisco tries to lift it out of the ground to get his power back. While he was struggling to get it out the man in the hood grabbed it from Cisco's hands cutting them both. He punched Cisco unconscious and Barry was lying on the floor trying to get up.

In the cortex they heard a sound that sounded like a insect. Barry was unable to get up as he was too damaged. "Barry get out of there" Caitlin said looking at the security cameras along with Nora and Dawn. Dawn put her mask on and sped away.

"Dad!" She screamed as the man was about to stab him. The man laid off and just flew away. "Dad" Dawn said rushing to her dad as his speed returned.

"Dawn what are you doing here?" Barry asked

"I know I disobeyed your orders but he was going to kill you" Dawn said

"It's ok" Barry said and gave his daughter a hug.

Joe, Cecil, Cisco, Barry, Caitlin, Dawn, Nora and Iris were all in the cortex. They listened to the sound that was coming from this man and Iris finally realised something. "That is the same noise that disrupted the meta transfer to Argus" Iris says

"It sounds like an insect" Caitlin says

"Yeah it does" Cisco says "It sounds"

"Like a Cicada" Nora and Dawn both say looking at each other

"Who is Cicada?" Barry says

"He's a villain in the Flash museum" Dawn said

"That part of the museum always creeped me out especially the Cicada part because" Nora said

"Because you never catch him" Dawn finishes
