“Sleep cycle complete.” A robotic voice sang. A red bar was loading and when it finished Cyborg fluttered his eyes open. His started to fidget and yawned. He released himself from his sleep table and unplugged the wires connected to him.

“Another great day to beat some bad guys and some video games!” He announced as his steaming plate of eggs and bacon greeted him from his microwave. He gobbled it up and licked his lips. Cyborg sighed in satisfaction. He went over his computer and checked out some stuff real quick while he hummed.

“Alrighty! Let’s get this day started! Something tells me this one is gonna be a good one.” Cyborg said to himself as he opened his door and walked into the main hallway of the Tower.

Raven breathed softly as she abruptly opened her eyes. She sat up and rubbed them, her vision now clearing. She moaned, she never slept much anyway, so her eyes always had slight bags underneath. She pushed back her covers and walked over to her bathroom. Raven put on her cloak and removed the hood. She put some white cream under her eyes to cover her bags and brushed her hair. Raven stared at herself, thinking deeply about who she was, and what Beast Boy saw in her. She sighed and walked out the door. Even though she was naturally monotone, something inside of her felt like today would be something special, something different.

“Here we go.” She muttered as she walked down the hall to make herself some tea.

Starfire took a deep breath and batted her eyelashes as her eyes adjusted to the sunlit room. She saw Silkie right in front of her face and she laughed. She removed the squirming larva from her and set it on the ground. She flew up out of her bed and opened her curtains, letting the sunlight pour in.

“The day is the gorgeous!” Starfire exclaimed. She zoomed back to her closet and picked out her normal attire. Starfire quickly changed in her bathroom and brushed her hair. When her hair was free of tangles, she set her brush down. Starfire looked down in her hands and repeated something she said to herself each morning, no matter how she was feeling.

“You have been through the a lot in your life. But you are here, strong, my friends have lost many things like I have but that does not mean that we cannot be the happy or positive in the life. I am a happy person and nothing will do the change that. Nothing will do the change of me.”

She smiled, she felt that today would be an amazing day.

Robin yawned quietly and stretched out his arms. He took a deep breath and groped around his nightstand for his mask. When he finally felt it, he slapped it on and pushed back his covers. He walked over to the bathroom and brushed his teeth, then he put on some extra good cologne that he recently bought. He changed into his normal Robin suit and went over to his desk. He looked at the recent crime maps that were scattered across his table, Robin picked up a couple and tried to see some connection between them. He ran his hand through his hair, and sighed. This was too early to be looking at crime maps. He put them back on his table and walked over to his dresser. He grabbed his utility belt and snapped it on, today he flt would be interesting, but in a oddly nice way.

Beast Boy slowly let his eyes creep open. He sighed as he sat up.

“I don’t know how much longer I can deal with this waking up at eight every morning.”Beast Boy joked. He walked over to his closet and shook his head.

“So many decisions to make you look good Beast Boy, what to wear?” Beast Boy reached or his normal uniform and changed. He then went to the bathroom to comb his hair and grabbed his gel. He smoothed his hair out with the gel and did a self evaluation in the mirror.

“Lookin’ good BB, lookin’ good,” He walked out with confidence, feeling happy and knowing today would be one to remember. But as he almost shut his door, he remembered something. He had to find the answer now. He slowly shut his door and started for to the kitchen to see Raven.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beast boy saw Raven as soon as he set foot into the kitchen. She looked so calm as she drank her tea with a book in hand.
“She is so beautiful when she is like that.” Beast Boy thought. He looked around, the could hear the other Titans were right outside the tower door. The other Titans could possibly see into the kitchen but they were out of earshot. He approached he with a level headed attitude but, all of a sudden, he felt strange. His palms began to sweat and his mouth become bone dry.
“H-hey R-Ra-Raven.” Beast Boy stammered. He began wringing his hands together.
“Smooth, BB, real smooth.” He told himself and mentally slapped himself.
“Hello Beast Boy.” Raven nonchalantly said, not even looking up from her book. Beast Boy slowly sat across from her, nearly tripping over the chair. Raven then looked up from her book, eyebrows raised.
“Pull yourself together man! You’re looking like an idiot!”
Raven pressed her lips together and turned her book over. She sighed and looked straight at Beast Boy.
“What do you want?” She asked, annoyance clearly heard in her voice. He sighed as well. “You know what I am going to be completely honest with her.” He took a deep breath and said this with the most courage and maturity he could manage.
“Raven. I told you something a while back, you belong with me. I meant that. You have been avoiding me and not even looking at me. Raven, I don’t know what you want me to do.” Beast Boy sighed again. “Look, I love you Raven, but if there is no chance for us to be together, I would like to know now. I don’t want to keep thinking about someone who is just going to decline me in the end.” Raven looked nervous, something Beast Boy has never seen in her before. She looked down at her book, staring, as if she was in a trance.
“Raven? Raven?” Beast Boy called and she looked up.
“Beast Boy, I need you to understand something.” She said and looked around warily. “It’s not that I don’t like you, it is just, I don’t know…” Her face fell.
“If you can control your emotions.” Raven looked up shocked. “That is why you meditate, to control them. And why you are so calm, I understand if your emotions become so crazy, you go a little…nuts. But you can’t live your life in fear of what if’s. I’ve told you before, I might be ‘I may not be smart enough to do everything, but I am dumb enough to try anything.’ Reason being is so I don’t look back with the what if’s.” Beast Boy told her.
“Who are you and what have you done with Beast Boy?” Raven asked, still using her monotone voice. Beast Boy laughed. “Thank you Beast Boy. I have been wanting to tell you something as well, just my emotions have held me back.” She paused. “I love you too. Now, I feel more confident.”
“So… do you think we could give it a try?” Beast Boy questioned earnestly. Raven smirked.
“I do.”
“Really?”
“Yes.” Just then the other Titans came in.
“Goooooood Mornin’!” Cyborg yelled and ruffled Beast Boy’s hair.
“NOT the hair dude. Not in front of my girlfriend!” He said annoyed but then widened his eyes. “I wasn’t suppose to say anything yet was I?”
Raven shrugged. “They would have found out soon enough.” Starfire gasped.
“Congratulations! I have been waiting for this moment!” She squealed and flew around happily.
Robin smiled and Cyborg grinned. Suddenly, the alarms beeped throughout the tower and Robin ran over to the computer.
“Sorry for the interruption guys, but we have a major disturbance downtown.” Robin told them as he furiously typed on the keyboard.
“What disaster could ruin this?” Beast Boy asked.
“It’s not some disaster, it’s more like an… aster. This can likely lead us to other clues to our… mystery about him.” Robin replied.
“Who is it?” Starfire wondered.
“Overload.” Robin said.
“Isn’t he in the same boat as Plasmus and Cinderblock?” Cyborg questioned.
“Exactly, this should help us.” Robin stated and turned off the monitor. “Titans GO!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The outskirts of Jump City were always calm, if any villain attacked, downtown Jump was always the source. But when they Titans traced the coordinates of Overload, the edges of Jump was where he was attacking.

“Is it not an odd place that the Overload is attacking?” Starfire asked.

“Yeah, but this is all part of some plan. The three coordinates, form some type of… shape. Triangular, I don’t know if it is a coincidence or not but all I do know is that we need to figure this riddle. There is something bigger than this, I can feel it.” Robin said, eyes narrowing as he saw their destination on the horizon.

“There’s Overload, he is attacking, some… abandoned gold mine?” Cyborg stated, uncertainty in his voice.

“There must be some disclaimed gold or gold still in the cavern.” Raven mentioned as all the Titans met up outside the mine. Energy was blasting out from its sides as the unstable mine shook unsteadily with every blast.

“That mine is way too unstable for us to go in, any other ruckus in there would cause the entire thing to collapse. There has to be a way for us to draw him out of there.” Cyborg noted.

“Water, didn’t that completely melt him last time?” Beast Boy suggested.

“Yes, if we drench the cavern with water, he’ll come out and maybe we can get some answers.” Robin replied, slamming his fist into his palm.

“I’m on it.” Beast Boy said and jumped into the bay that was near the outskirts of Jump. He turned into an elephant and soaked up all the water he could hold in his trunk. He then sprayed it all over the mine and, as if on cue, Overload came out of the mine to avoid melting.

“Overload!” Robin shouted. “We want answers, who is behind all of this?” Overload said nothing and just laughed. He shot out electric energy at the Titans. Starfire’s eyes began glowing and she was about to attack when Robin stopped her.

“All we want is answers Overload, tell us or we will MAKE you.” Robin threatened. Overload said nothing once again and as Robin cued Beast Boy to start drenching water on Overload, he disappeared.

‘Wha-? Where did he go?” Beast Boy questioned when he turned back into his human form. Robin sighed and said through gritted teeth, “He’s gone.”

“Let us go back to the Tower, we might be able to see where he went from there.” Starfire suggested.

The other Titans nodded but Beast Boy stood still, looking at the valley of flowers near the bay.

“Are you comin’ BB?” Cyborg asked him. Beast Boy continued to stare at the valley,

“Yeah, I’ll catch up, you go ahead.”

The Titans turned around and headed towards the Tower as Beast Boy made his way down the hill and plucked the most beautiful flower he had seen in a long time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Beast Boy entered the common room, the Titans were gathered around the television.
“Uhh… guys? What’s wrong?” He asked. Raven turned around.
“Come see for yourself.” She responded and moved over as Beast Boy walked up, discreetly handed her the flower, making her blush and examined the screen. In huge, bold letters the screen read WORST NIGHTMARE IS HERE.
“This doesn’t make any sense. What is our worst nightmare?” Cyborg wondered out loud. Robin looked down and slammed his fist against the keyboard. As he did the message went away. A deep voice filled the speakers around the room.
“Hello Titans.” It said. All the Titans suddenly straightened as they looked around the room.
“Who are you!” Robin yelled. Just then a figure appeared on the monitor. He was only shown from the torso up but the Titans all know who he was.
“Slade!” the Titans shouted.
“You gotta new mask.” Robin said, disgust in his voice. The silver mask covered most of his face but everything below his nose was exposed. HIs eyes glowed lava red.
“How do you keep doing this!” Beast Boy exclaimed.
“I am back but I am not me.” The man said. The Teen Titans looked at each other, confusion sprawled all over their faces. The man shook his head and chuckled a deep, menacing laugh.
“I am not Slade. I have never been Slade.” The masked figure began. “I have been the one tricking you, sending villains after you, making you think Slade was back.” Those words stung at Robin.
“You! You were the one that triggered that dust to make me think Slade was back!” Robin growled. Starfire grabbed his arm and gave him a serious look. She released her grip on him and looked up at the new villain.
“If you are not the Slade, then who are you?!?!” She yelled, her eyes began to glow green.
“Oh sweet dearie, isn’t it obvious? I am his…”
“His what?” Robin asked.
“His son.” The Titans became wide eyed and a shiver ran down all of their backs.
“My father, Slade, is dead. But I am fulfilling what he couldn’t. I am Ravager. Your new nightmare.” Ravager explained.
“Well, Ravager why would you reveal yourself?” Raven asked him.
“Well, I just thought that it would be a great time to mention that I put bombs under the Jump City bridge, and they are real this time.” He looked at the timer in his arm. “Oh look,” He turned his arm around showing the timer counting down. “Ten minutes, have fun Titans.” Ravager mentioned and the TV monitor turned off.
“Mind. Blown.” Beast Boy said and gulped. “Slade had a SON!”
Robin blew a breath through his cheeks and uttered his normal catchphrase.
“TITANS GO!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The T-Car screeched to a halt as it was parked right next to the lake where the Jump CIty bridge was built above it. The Titans all jumped out of the car as Robin checked a timer he clutched in his hands.

Robin shouted to his team as they ran over to the nearest pillar that held up the bridge. “Six minutes, whatever bombs Ravager put, we need to deactivate them quickly.” The Titans nodded and Cyborg looked at the screen on his lower arm.

“Scanners are picking up traces of alien metal that was somehow incorporated into the bridge.” He reported.

“Alien?” Beast Boy questioned.

“As in unfamiliar or unknown,” Cyborg told him. “There is one in this pillar, one in the next one, and one way at the other side of the bridge.” Robin sighed.

“Let’s hurry, we only now have four minutes. Cyborg, you and Starfire deactivate the one on the far end of the bridge, Raven you deactivate this one in the pillar and Beast Boy and I will deactivate the last one.” Robin ordered as the Titans nodded and went to work. Raven walked right in front of the pillar, closed her eyes and let her mind do the rest. Her mind found a panel that was hidden on the other side of the pillar and found the bomb. She levitated it over to her and her dark energy seeped into the cracks of the bomb. The bomb then expanded and broke apart evenly showing all the parts that it was made of. But she didn’t put it back together, she let her energy drop it and then stepped on the core.

“That was easy.” She muttered but smirked on the side of her face. A couple of feet away from her Beast Boy and Robin found the bomb plastered over with some gray paint. Beast Boy turned into a gorilla and ripped it off from the side of the pillar. He laid it down in front of Robin and let Robin work with his expertise. In mere seconds, the bomb was deactivated and Robin checked at his timer.

“One minute!” He yelled across the water to Cyborg and Starfire. Cyborg was looking at his scanners and steered Starfire to the bomb. When Starfire saw the bomb bolted to the wall, she yanked it out and threw it to the ground. As she did, a piece of metal flew out behind her. Starfire ignored it and pulled the core of the bomb. She crushed it in her hands, letting the remnants fall to the ground.

“Bomb deactivated.” Starfire yelled back across the water. She then grabbed Cyborg and flew over the water, meeting the Titans on the other side.

“I took scans of the bomb and I am going to analyze them on the way home to be sure Ravager was being truthful about what they really did.” Cyborg said.

“Good thinking, hopefully Ravager doesn’t have any more tricks up his sleeve, let’s go.” Robin mentioned. The Titans started piling into the T-Car but right as Starfire got in, the metal piece levitated towards her and stuck to her back

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As the Titans entered the tower, the scanner engrossed Cyborg walked over to the monitor, worry masking his face.
“Guys, this might be something that you want to see.” Cyborg told them and showed them his scanner analyses.
“So… what does this all mean bro?” Beast Boy asked.
“It means,” Cyborg stated “that those bombs weren’t meant to explode. Even if Star and I didn’t disable it in time, it wouldn’t have exploded. They were just filled with water. That is really going to do much damage.”
“That means that was a diversion.” Raven said.
“So the real question is, what did Ravager really want?” Robin asked as the metal piece on Starfire's back started to glow a slight red color.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ravager paced around the glowing monitor, the only light filling his dark liar. Overload came up behind him and Ravager motioned him to go return to his capsule.

“Everything is going according to plan.” Ravager said smiling evilly. “The Titans are so clueless, aren’t they Rose?” A young woman appeared from behind the darkness.

“They sure are brother, they sure are.”
