《The ThickGirl and The Badboy》Chapter 3: Fit

I strongly disliked Sunday's.
Sundays are where I cry myself to sleep dreading for Monday to come.
Because really who likes to go back to school?
My body woke up randomly and when the clock displayed nine in the morning, I thought what better time than to get a good workout in.
I brushed my teeth to avoid morning breath, and washed my face with cold water to wake me up.
The sun shone very brightly today , making me thankful that I only wore shorts, and a Nike tank.
I drove myself to a known park, which held a dirt track, and adjusted my earphones to stretch.
'8 laps, that's all I need, just 8 laps around the dirt and I'll be done.'
I ran, little by little adjusting myself to my race pace.
The first mile I hit five minutes. My goal was to do two miles in less than sixteen minutes.
'Ok koleen, go alittle faster.' I told myself. I gotta keep a strong fast pace. Running was my thing. It was a good escape.
'5 laps Koleen, you're almost done'
My feet were getting weaker but I forced them to keep up the pace, using my music as a distraction from the pain.
'Take it off, take it off, baby just take it off
Take it off, take it off, baby just take it off
Push me up against the wall
Don't take it easy
You like it hard like me
It's what you need
Even if I wasn't particularly in the idea of him leaving the band, Zayn still hold a place in my heart.
Closing my eyes, I began to concentrate on my body, feeling my legs taking me to a certain distance..speed.
Once I hit the seventh lap, I started picking up the pace.
'Sprint legs, sprint!
'You're a badass! Sprint! Sprint!'
Although my heart felt as though it were gonna explode, and my lungs craved for more air.
I took my earphones out, and started walking around so the pain would fade.
"Damn baby, I didn't know you could run."
I turned towards the familiar voice, "Jaxon?" I called out walking towards him.
"The one and only baby. Hey, you don't look like the cardio type." He replied holding onto his bottled water.

I examined him in his shorts and tank, figuring he was also going for a run.
"Like what you see? "He teased.
"Yeah sure, if it comes with free food." I shrugged making my way out to head home.
"Hey! Wait! Uh, as a matter of fact this guy does come with free food. What'll it be IHop or McD's?"
"Weren't you working out?"
"Yeah, but I'm done now."
I shrugged, if he was paying I didn't see why not.
"Well ok, I'm not gonna argue if it comes to food. But I want something healthy that's high in protein and low in carbs but good enough to fill me up ."
"Damn I find it sexy when you talk nutritious to me." He replied grining.
"Whatever." I walked past him, feeling his eyes burning my whole body.
'Look away you turd.'

"Babe, c'mon eat your pancakes ." Jaxon told me putting whoop cream on my nose then licking it.
I gave him a stubborn sigh, that was so unnecessary plus I hated that he called me that, seriously can't I have another name? Only players say that to you when they're trying to win you over.
'At least in my experiences. '
"I am eating them, and don't call me that."
"Whatever you say." He muttered under his breath drinking his soda.
Sensing alittle awkwardness in the air, I took a bite of my pancakes and changed the subject, "So what sports did you play in high school?"
He flashed me a smile with his lovely teeth showing, making me smile as well.
"Football, Baseball, and Track."
"Well I'm impressed, no wonder I didn't pay you any attention last year."
He chuckled softly, making me feel jittery.
"And why is that?" He asked looking into my eyes.
"Because all the boys in football were assholes so I'd just ignore them."
"Oh," He grinned, "If you would've noticed me last year, we would've made the best couple in high school you know that?"
I scoffed. 'Yeah, sure.'
"What do you play? Aside from Cross Country that is."
"I also do Track, and Soccer. I used to do Basketball, and Tennis but not anymore."

"Why not?"
"Personal stuff." I replied quickly sipping my orange juice afterwards.
I didn't want to tell him the real reason I quit, then he'll think I'm one of those weak girls who's insecure over everything, and sensitive.
"Well what sport do you like the most?"
"I honestly don't know, probably Cross Country."
"Really? Distance running? "
"It keeps me stress free." I shrug. " What about yours? Wait, let me guess...football."
"No. It's baseball."
"Really? You look more of a football player type."
"Well, I liked it but it doesn't compare with the love I feel for baseball more. Right now I'm saving for Vanderbilt University."
"Damn, impressive."
"Well you'd be even more impressed with me in bed." He winked and grinned.
I rolled my eyes while muttering "Boys." Getting up to wash my hands because the syrup made my hands sticky.
As I was walked back, I noticed Jaxon was gone.
I looked around only to find him flirting with another girl.
'What the hell?!' I thought.
He had the audacity to do that when taking me out?
I went over to him , and did the pettiest shit ever.
"Babe, What-what are you doing ? Who is she? ! Are you cheating on me?! I thought we had something, what happened? What did I do to make things go wrong?" Fake tears started pouring down my eyes. He looked at me with confusion, while the girl was surprised.
"Do you know her?" She asks.
"Of course he knows me! We were dating for three years! But I guess he's tired of me now , and just threw me away like a piece of shit. I just want you to know I've always been real with my feelings Jonathan." And with that, I left a stunned Jaxon in his seat with a bunch of stares, and whispering from others.
I wiped the fake tears from my face, and put on a smug smile.
'I should be an actor!' I thought as I got into my car.

Seven messages, and five missed calls later, my phone buzzed again from another call from Jaxon.
I decided to answer this one to hear what he has to say.
"Hello?" I said innocently. I heard a sudden sigh of relief in the other end.
"Koleen what was that?!!"
Wow, first time he's called me by my actual name.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I said once more, pretending not to know.
"You know damn well what I'm talking about."
"You deserved it for being a jerk, you asshat."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done it in your presence. After you left, the girl dumped her salad on me, and I kept getting cold stares from everyone, the manager even asked for me to leave because your little play made the other customers uncomfortable. Which, by the way, is pretty unfair, not only was it not true, but what do they care?"
I couldn't help but laugh.
I know I shouldn't be so angry at him since we weren't in a relationship, but it felt disrespectful for him to do that when he was with me seconds ago.
"That was a bitchy move you know that? But hey, I like that. Turns me on actually. Snappy 'n fiery I like it!"
"Yeah, well whatever. Goodbye."
"Wait!"
"What?"
"When can I see you again, you know all hot 'n stuff."
"You want to see me again after the stunt I pulled? You're weird."
"How 'bout a party this coming Saturday?"
"What?" I asked confused.
"You know Justin Blake?"
All I knew about him was that he threw the most 'amazing' party's of the year, but I've never experienced anything.
It wasn't that I'd rather be at home reading, ok maybe, but it was mostly because I was too insecure to wear a dress.
"I've heard of him."
"His party, you and me. What do you say?"
"Maybe."
"Great, see you there baby." He says hanging up.
I panicked not knowing what the hell to wear, I didn't know if I should choose an outfit last minute or advanced time.
I needed Crystal right now for advice, so I tried calling her.
'beep, beep,'
'Hey this is Cristi. If im not answerimg, then I'm shopping now. BYe'
Ugh, only Crystal would do that.
So I called again.
Nothing.
Maybe the outfit will have to wait.

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.

The Elemental Arena
*A Rational-Adjacent litRPG Survival Series.* The time for the trials has come, pitting the mortal species of the galaxy against one another. By completing challenges, clearing dungeons, and defeating rival species, the players may forge themselves stronger and smarter. But only one species will be declared the winner. Earth has finally qualified... ...and participation is mandatory. A twenty-nine year old data entry clerk works together with a group of internationally diverse players to survive. Learning synergistic skills and using teamwork, can humanity achieve an upset? If they don't, their lives are forfeit. Author's note: Chapters will be anywhere from 6k to 10k in words, varying based on the plot beats instead of specific word counts. Realistic actions and teamwork will be important aspects of my story. I'm trying something a little different in writing a realism focused litRPG, hoping to capture the essence of how real people would react to their situation. People are complex and don't always get along. I don't recommend starting the series expecting wish fulfillment tropes just because it's tagged litRPG. It's a survival story with the game settings on Hell difficulty. The plot hasn't gotten there yet, but in the future of the series I want to recreate my nostalgia of forty person raids on Ragnaros, but with the high stakes of boss battles in Sword Art Online. I also love puzzle rooms so expect one of those each book. Warnings: mild PG-rated language, graphic violence and gore, and graphic medical content.
