《How To Protect Your Dragon (Hiccup x Reader 3)》The Hunter, Grimmel the Grisly

The sea was dark, and hundreds of trapper ships were all docked on an island. The air was foggy, the sun making it glow an eerie yellow.
A man stands inside of a small winged structure being carried by four dragons tied by chains. The dragons make odd clicking sounds as they land, setting the man down with growls.
...
"Archers!" A guard yells, his men taking aim from ontop a watch tower.
...
The man walks forward, the dragons following closely behind with low hisses.
...
"Deathgrippers..." One of the men mumble from above, watching the dragons and recognizing the man now.
...
The man stops, smirking at the sound of men clamoring and dragons roaring ahead.
A Gronckle struggles in its binds, a large blue and purple dragon snarling viciously as he tries to break the chains. A Nadder races off, flying before being shot down by a net.
A baby Nadder whines in fear at the sight of the Deathgrippers, curling into a ball.
A group of guards look over a large map, miniature boats laying on the side.
"The dragon riders attacked us here, off the eastern strait," a guard says, pushing their boat forward.
Another guard takes a boat, imitating an explosion as he collides it with their boat.
"Ragnar!" A woman scolds.
"Um... Sorry."
"My dear warlords!" A voice greets, making them gasp and turn. "How go your plans to conquer the world?"
He removes his hood, his platinum blond hair messy for a moment before he fixes it.
Ragnar lets out a laugh, playfully swinging his fists, "Grimmel! My old friend. Thank you for coming--"
As he goes to hug Grimmel a Deathgripper tackles him, snarling as he nervously laughs.
"A year since Drago's defeat, and no further along with your dragon army, I see," Grimmel nods, rolling his eyes with a smirk as he approaches the map.

"You can thank the young Chief of Berk and his partner for that," a woman replies in disgust.
"Stoick's boy?" Grimmel questions, pausing. "And if I'm not mistaken, his... 'Partner', as you put it, is (F/N)'s, yes?"
Ragnar struggles under the Deathgripper, groaning in disgust at the saliva dripping from its mouth.
"They and their peace-loving dragon riders raid our ships," Ragnar tries to hold the dragon back. "And steal our dragons."
"Mmm," Grimmel turns, looking at the woman. "They do sound like nuisances." He agrees before shaking his head. "But I'm in the business of killing dragons, not retrieving them."
"But Grimmel!" Ragnar scrambles out from under the dragon, panting heavily as he rushes after him.
"That idiot boy and girl have done all of the work for you gathering the dragons in one place," Grimmel informs, walking last struggling dragons. "Why bother me?"
"Because... The flock is protected by a Night Fury and an Echo Angel!"
Grimmel pauses mid-step, his eyes widening before he quickly shakes his head.
"Not possible."
"It seems they slipped through your fingers," an older man scoffs.
"Look," Ragnar sighs. "Berk's dragons will follow the Alpha and Beta. So, we'll pay you to capture them and bring the flock to us." He pauses, continuing in a sing-song, "we even have your favorite baits!"
Grimmel raises a brow, turning to where the man pointed. Inside a cage were the Light Fury and Sonic Angel, the Light Fury hiding her face and the Sonic Angel silently staring at Grimmel.
"The only dragons they left us from last night's raid."
"Two females? Hmm."
The Sonic Angel hisses lowly at him, the muzzle wrapped around her face preventing her from using her fire as she stalks around the cage, her scales spiked. The Light Fury wraps tighter in a ball, cooing softly in fear as she hides in her wings.

"So, do we have a deal, old friend?" Ragnar holds out his hand with a smirk.
A dragon roaring catches their attention, the large purple and blue dragon escaping from the men's grip and charging at Grimmel.
"Look out!" People yell, getting out of its way.
Grimmel turns with a bored expression, swiftly drawing his crossbow and firing it at the dragon. It crashes, sliding and landing in front of him, knocked out.
"When all is said and done," Grimmel speaks as the dust clears, the group looking at him. "This young Chief and his little girlfriend will bring me the Night Fury and Echo Angel."
Grimmel turns, dusting off his coat as he walks away.
"They don't have a leader. Just a boy."
...
Back on Berk...
"..." Stoick's voice softly says, Hiccup as a child looking around. "This is Berk, son."
Hiccup looks around in awe, grinning slightly.
"It's our home."
The sun set in the distance peeked through the clouds, a gorgeous pink and yellow light shining across the sky.
"It was the home of your grandparents, and their grandparents before them."
Stoick holds Hiccup in one hand, looking across the sea.
"And it's my job as Chief to protect us, Hiccup. And one day, when you're all grown up, that job will be passed on to you."
Stoick playfully boops his nose with his finger, Hiccup jumping before nodding.
"Okay."
"And it's very important, son. Because out there... Beyond the sunset..." Stoick points across the sea, sighing softly. "Lies the home of the dragons."
"Wow!" Hiccup softly gasps.
"Aye," Stoick chuckles. "Legends tell of ships that sailed too close to it, only to drop off the edge of the world, never to be seen again."
Hiccup looks between the sea and his father with wide eyes, gasping in horror.
"But those sailors who turned back told tales of a great waterfall, and dragons guarding the entrance to a Hidden World," Stoick continues, gesturing as he speaks.
"Whoa," Hiccup breathes out in awe, looking up at Stoick.
"Not just a Nest, Hiccup. But a land from which all dragons come."
"Even Night Furies?" Hiccup softly questions, tilting his head.
"Especially Night Furies," Stoick chuckles, shaking his head. "And if you talk to Gobber, he'll go on saying he saw a dragon with wings. Like a birdie!"
Hiccup giggles, shaking his head before pausing and shuddering.
"They both sound scary."
"Don't you worry," Stoick gently says, looking down at Hiccup. "One day I'll find the Hidden World and seal it up, so that people and dragons will fight no more."
"Hiccup!" The small voice of (Y/N) calls, making Hiccup gasp as he quickly scrambles out of Stoick's hand, climbing down his body as Stoick chuckles.
"It's (Y/N)!"
"Better go on then, son," Stoick continues chuckling, Hiccup nodding with a grin as he starts racing off.
"(Y/N)! I have to tell you about the Hidden World!"
Hiccup races past (F/N), who laughs and pats his head before joining Stoick.
The two remain silent, looking out to sea and hoping for a better future for their children than fighting dragons.

Path of the Ancients
When humans with the ability to control the fundamental particles of the universe with their minds were first discovered, the age of space travel began in earnest. Relativistic travel faster than the speed of light became possible and humanity moved out into the stars. When it was discovered that these Mages could be turned into effective weapons, humanity turned back to its oldest pastime of war. Hundreds of years later as humanity was on the brink of self-destruction, with its taste for war finally beginning to wane, a new organization was created. The Conclave was formed to regulate all Mage’s within the human colonies. While the colonies maintained their independence, the Conclave’s control over access to interstellar travel made them the de facto power amongst humanity. As the old saying goes, ‘Power Corrupts’, and many people were unhappy with the way the Conclave had been leveraging its authority, not the least of which were the Mages they controlled. One unregistered illegal Mage by the name of Tyrial had made it his life's mission to dismantle the Conclave at any cost. After spending decades working towards his goals alone, he realized he would need the aid of willing allies in his crusade.
