It's been a week since the surgery and Meredith has been cleared to go home. Derek helped her change her clothes and helped her in a wheelchair and covered her with a blanket before wheeling her to their car and helping her in
"Will the kids be okay?" Meredith asked. In the past week the kids haven't seen Meredith much because of the hours of PT, their school schedule and the reaction Zola had when Alex suggested to go see Meredith
Zola apparently had been the most scared. it became obvious when they stayed a night at Arizona and Callie's house when she was avoiding Arizona. Sofia had a talk with Zola
"My mom still can do almost everything that she could before" Sophie said as she saw Zola watching out of the window
"I'm just scared to see my mom"
"Why? She's still your mom and her leg won't change a thing. You can still talk with her, you can still cuddle, she can still come see you compete in math contests"
" I know" Zola sighed "What if I hurt her?"
"Then you apologize and ask what you can do to help her"
"It's not the same! Your mother lost her leg when you were little, you barely remember it" Zola sighed
"Well then, let's go see my mom and ask her the questions you're scared off
"I'm sure the kids are waiting to see you" Derek said
"Can you make sure they don't see it
"Okay" Derek said and grabbed her hand, squeezing it tight.
They arrived at the house after a long drive. It didn't feel as weird anymore to not leave the car and stay in instead of looking at the city
Derek helped Meredith in the wheelchair, immediately covering her with the blanket again and opening the front door

"The kids must be upstairs" Derek whispered
"Can you help me on the couch?" Meredith asked
Derek lifted her up and placed her on the couch, stuffing her with pillows and adjusting the blanket on top of her
"Mommy!" Bailey yelled from upstairs "Dad, why didn't you tell mommy was already home?" Bailey gasped and ran downstairs
"Mommy!" Ellis followed but stopped in her tracks
"Come one Ellie! Mommy's home" Bailey grabbed her hand
"Mer? Are you already home?" Amelia asked as she ran into the room, holding a basket full of laundry "I'm sorry, we had banners!" Amelia apologized and put the basket on the ground "How are you?"
"I'm good.." Meredith smiled. "Where's Zola?" She asked as Bailey cuddled close
"Careful bud" Derek warned him
"Mom?" Zola's voice was heard from upstairs
"Hi ZoZo" Meredith smiled and reached her hand out
Zola slowly made her way over to meredith
"I'm sorry mommy for acting so weird" Zola whispered and sat down next to Meredith
"Hey, it's okay. It's scary and don't be scared to touch me, okay?" Meredith opened her arms, allowing Zola to hug her mother
"Can we sit with you?" Ellis asked
"Let me help you" Derek said and helped the kids on the couch next to their mother as they turned on a movie
"When will you get the robot leg?" Bailey asked
"Once the wound is healed" Meredith smiled and rubbed his head "You're so silly"
"Will it really be a robot leg? Will it be scary? Will you be able to play with me?" Ellis kept rambling
"Hey, little one.. I'll have different legs for different occasions and it can be scary and that's okay and yes, I'll be able to play with you. I might just be a bit slower in the beginning"

"Kay" Ellis whispered and laid her head against Meredith
"Can we see it?" Bailey asked out of the blue
"No" Meredith quickly respond as she saw Zola standing up, ready to leave
"It's not healed yet" Derek softly added, giving a concerned look at Meredith
"Zo" Meredith whispered and reached her hand out
"I need to use the bathroom" the older girl quickly responded
Meredith gave her a sad nod
"Don't worry, Mer. I'll go talk to her" Derek said and run off upstairs.
Meredith, Bailey and Ellis laid down on the couch watching a movie and as time went by, Zola and Derek joined
"I'm sorry mommy" Zola apologized and carefully say down
"Don't apologize. Come sit here" Meredith was patting the couch. She could feel Zola being tensed up but rubbed her arm a bit and she seemed to actually calm down

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål! All content warning tags are applied so as to allow freedom of writing but there is no intent of excess or even regular use of these themes. Regardless of this, any and all uses will have dedicated warnings presented in the chapter whenever they are present! Reader beware!
