"Mommy?" Bailey whispered and shook gently on Meredith's shoulder
"W- What?" She gasped
"Mommy, why were you asleep in the hallway?" Bailey asked with a frown
"I sat here and fell asleep. What time is it" She muttered and looked at her watch, feeling groggy and dizzy
"Bails, it's 4:30 am, why are you awake?" Meredith asked
"Can I have a glass of water?" Bailey asked
"Of course, let's go downstairs" Meredith smiled and walked downstairs with Bailey before handing him a glass of water and helping him in bed again
Meredith was trying to remember last night's event and why she woke up in the hallway when she heard some squirms from Ellis' room
Meredith walked inside and tle little girl was stirring in the bed
"Shh, shh" Meredith whispered
"M- M.. il- il..k" She tried to get out
Meredith and Derek were pro's at understanding Ellis so she easily could make up what Ellis was saying
"I'll get you some milk real quick. You wanna stay here?" Meredith asked
Ellis shook her head no and reached her arms out towards Meredith
"Let's go" Meredith lifted the girl in her arms and walked to the kitchen and placed her down in her high chair, gently fixing her arms and legs that were held in position by the braces to prevent spasms
Meredith grabbed the milk and held the bottle as Ellis was sipping the milk
"Th- thank" Ellis smiled as she finished
"Let's go back to bed now" Meredith smiled and lifted her up and placed her in her own bed
"Goodnight baby" Meredith smiled and stood up, quickly composing herself ss she stood up and felt dizzy again
"M-ommy, kay?" Ellis asked
"I'm okay. Good night sweetie" Meredith smiled
"N-ight-y!" Ellis said

Meredith was waiting on the other side of the door and quickly hears the soft snoring sound of their youngest daughter and shuffled towards her own bedroom
In a couple of hours Meredith has an appointment with Bailey about returning so she decided to close her eyes and drift to sleep but she woke up several times after that to eventually being woken up only 2 hours later by their alarm going off
Meredith was groaning until she heard small footsteps from the hallway "Morning" She whispered as she kissed Derek's jawline before getting up
Zola was walking down the hallway towards the living room "morning mommy" She smiled
"Morning ZoZo! I'm gonna wane your siblings first" Meredith replied and entered Ellis' room
Ellis and Bailey were sitting on the pink unicorn bed and he was reading her a story
"M-ommy!" She yelled as she noticed Meredith
"Hi guys" She smiled and sat down on the bed as she started to release Ellis from the braces
"And they lived long and happy" Bailey ended the story and grabbed Ellis' hand "Can we goto the kitchen?" Bailey asked
"I just need to change her and get her dressed first, Bails" Meredith smiled
"Is daddy making us pancakes?" Bailey gasped as he smelled pancakes
"Yes, he is! Go start breakfast. We'll be there soon!"
"Ellie, do you want bananas on them?" Bailey asked
"Yaa" Ellis smiled
"I'll ask daddy to prepare some so you can eat right away" Bailey said happily and skipped out of the room
...
"Okay, so we're gonna drop you off at daycare and uncle Alex will come get you in about an hour and then we'll see you tonight, okay?" Derek explained to the kids as they helped them out of the car

"-Lex!"
"Yes, you're right" Meredith picked up Ellis "Wanna walk?"
"M-e wa-lk Bay" Ellis smiled and grabbed Bailey's hand as they made their way inside. Derek pushing the wheelchair, just in case Alex was planning on taking them out and she would get tired
"Mom? Will both you and dad be home tonight?" Zola asked
"One of us but we're not sure yet" Meredith smiled and held Zola's hand
They dropped the kids off at daycare, reminding them to get paged if anything changes
"I'll see you later" Derek said as he kissed her before running off after his pager started beeping
Meredith continued her way to Bailey's office. She had no idea what to expect and decided to wait to get dressed, just in case Bailey doesn't want her to return
"Grey, it's nice to see you again. Why aren't you changed yet?"
"I can start right away?" Meredith frowned
"Look, I wasn't completely right but still, you should have followed orders" Miranda told her
And even though Meredith didn't agree, she nodded because she didn't wanna have a fight now. She looked at her watch to see when his shift would end, knowing he would pick up the kids
"Meredith?" Bailey pulled her out of her daydreams
"I'm sorry. I got distracted for a bit.." Meredith sighed
"Are you sure you're okay?" Bailey asked
"Yeah, I am" Meredith forced a smile
"I'm sorry" Miranda said
"Oh- I- I shouldn't have walked away but I made the right choice, my daughter-"
Bailey cut her off "I know" She smiled a bit
Meredith nodded and took off. She went to her office to get changed as she took a look at her watch again and decided to go take a look at the kids instead. She chose to take the stairs and saw Derek there
"Hi" Meredith smiled
"Hi, on your way to see Alex before they take off?" Derek guessed
"Yeah" Meredith nodded "I had a weird conversation with Bailey but I gotta run" Meredith nervously said
"Mer! Keep it calm, please" He said and kissed her before she turned around
"Der, I-" He saw her getting dizzy as she tried to grab onto one of the rails but fell down the stairs instead
"Mer! Mer!" He yelled and ran down "Dammit!"

Dungeon Core? Nah, I Think I'll Just Get Super-Wealthy Instead
The cycle is simple enough. A Dungeon Core is born from a wayward soul. It seeks power and agency, and works to accumulate wealth to fuel its power, in turn using this power to accumulate further wealth. Inevitably, the mind is lost as desperation and ambition drive it to commit darker and darker acts. Shortly thereafter, the adventurers arrive to quell the core. This is a tale that has repeated itself countless times throughout history: all cores desire power. And yet, this core seems to have it backwards. It doesn't want to rule the world. It has no desire to enslave or conquer. No, this core doesn't want to be a warlord, a villain, or a tyrant. It wants to start a core-poration. After all, when money is power, what greater weapon is there than capitalism? Join a dungeon core that wastes an absurd amount of time and effort trying not to be evil on his journey to earn fat stacks against all odds. -This is a 'Dungeon Core' type fiction with LitRPG elements in it. The start may be fairly slow compared to the average. Expect roughly 2.5k per chapter. -I'm only a hobbyist writer. As such, there may be the occasional error and pacing may be poorly-handled. Constructive criticism is alway welcome. I'm just here to write stuff that makes my brain release the g o o d c h e m i c a l s. -I am trashy and I like monsterpeople so you can expect an awful lot of those as we get further in. Thank you for reading this far, and I hope you enjoy.
