(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
The uneasy silence continued to linger within the room as tears continued to spill from my eyes. It all seemed unreal. Time seemed to stop. Despair seemed to well up within me.
"T-This can't be real," Leon mumbles, his voice seeming to echo around the gym.
"Ah, such an unfortunate death! I kind of wanted to keep from killing someone for no good reason, but I guess you guys needed to be taught a lesson. Now you guys understand right? You see how serious I am," Monokuma announces with a frown. His lips soon curled up in a smile when he saw the others glance at him in fear.
I still couldn't believe what was happening. Junko, who had been my friend for years, was dead. She had been murdered right before my eyes.
"Sheesh, you guys are overreacting. It's not all that shocking. After all, she violated a school regulation!"
"Why did you kill her? (Y/n) has broken the same regulation, but you never killed her or even punished her," Kyoko mentions, furrowing her eyebrows.
I glance up at Monokuma, mumbling, "that's right...I've done the same thing."
Monokuma gulps, letting out a nervous chuckle. "I-I guess the secret is out! Monokuma has favorites..."
"If you have favorites, why (Y/n) then?" Kyoko asks the boy.
"I dunno! Sheesh, what is with all these questions-"
I step in front of Monokuma, glaring at him. "Why don't you kill me too?! I've broken the rules too! Don't I deserve to die too?!"
Monokuma stares at me with wide eyes. "U-Um-"
"Isn't only fair?! Just kill me!-"
"(Y/n), please stop," Kyoko speaks. She walks over to me and places a hand on my shoulder, giving me a stern look.
Monokuma then cleared his throat, brushing off my outburst. "Anyways, I have something to give to you to help you solve who the blackened is!"
Monokuma reaches into his pocket, pulling out what seems to be a small file. Printed upon it's surface was, "Monokuma File 1." "This little file has all the information I gathered regarding the death in question. I call it...the Monokuma File!" Monokuma shouts. "Of course, I saw the whole thing go down in the surveillance cameras, so I gave you as much info as I wanted!"
"Wait, so you know who killed Sayaka then?" Kyoko questions Monokuma.
"Of course I do! If I didn't, how would I be able to fairly and accurately judge the class trials?"
"I suppose that's a good point...the judge must make a proper decision."

"Alright then! Please put your full effort in the investigation! We'l meet up again for the class trial!" Monokuma giggles. After that, Monokuma makes his exit, leaving us in the gym. He left us confused, stunned, shocked. He left us with Junko's corpse growing colder in front of us.
I couldn't help but glance back at my former best friend's dead body, pain welling up within me. I held in tears that threatened to spill from my eyes. Despite being the ultimate actress, it was difficult to even try and hide the pain I felt.
"Now is no time to wallow in your depression," Kyoko states, glancing at me. "Remember (Y/n), don't lose faith in yourself just because of Junko's death. She would want you to live for her, correct?"
I sniffle and slowly nod. Kyoko gives a nod to me as well before turning to the rest of our classmates. "Cooperation is key at this point in time. Who you decide to trust is up to you, but try to remain calm."
"Continuing to think and speak about the deceased isn't going to help anyone at this point," Celeste asserts as she plays with a piece of her black hair.
"B-But-" I stammer, only to be cut off by Celeste.
"What did I tell you before? Anyone who doesn't adapt will die. Death awaits those who are unwilling or unable to adapt to the circumstances. If you die, you only have yourself to blame."
"That's an awful thing to say! Especially after all that just happened!" Hina shouts.
"Everyone, exposing the killer is the most important thing right now. Please refrain from bickering," Kyoko mentions to everyone.
"She's right. Let's begin our search right away," Byakuya affirms.
"Either way, there is no running from this situation. We have no choice but to move forward," Sakura utters, crossing her arms.
Sakura is right...we have to move forward. There is no running from the situation. We have to do this. No matter how much we don't want to, there is no other choice.
Our investigation then began. I first looked through the Monokuma File, reading through it.
"The victim was Sayaka Maizono. The time of death is estimated to be around 1:30 a.m. The body was discovered in (Y/n)'s dormitory room. All evidence leads to the death taking place in the bathroom. The cause of death was a stab wound to the abdomen. There was an injury to her right wrist as well. To be specific, the wrist is fractured," I read in my head.

After I read the Monokuma File, I began to head to my dorm room where the murder had taken place. As I made my way over there, I pushed the image of Junko's corpse to the back of my mind. Her death still haunted me and caused me pain, but I tried my best to refrain from sulking. I would have time to mourn her death later, for now, I have to worry about helping solve Sayaka's murder case.
I then enter my room, gulping upon entering. The room was a mess, just like I had found it before. I inspected the room a bit closer, noticing things I hadn't noticed before. The astonishing gold sword was dropped on the ground, taken out of it's sheath. On some parts of the sword, the gold coating had come off, especially the handle. It's possible the sword was used in attack somehow.
A little away from the sword was the sheath itself. There were a few scratches on the sheath as though it had made contact with something sharp. I wonder how it got scratched up in the first place?
Next thing I noticed was that there were scratches and gouges on my walls, bed, and floor. Could it be possible evidence of some sort of struggle? This evidence seems to point to as though there was some sort of fight in my room...
After inspecting the rest of the room, I noticed that Kyoko was kneeled down and seeming expect every inch of the floor. I was questioning what she was doing, but decided to not say anything. Kyoko then stood up, asking, "(Y/n), are you a clean freak?"
I shake my head, replying, "no...I'm not."
Kyoko then nods, smirking a bit. "Interesting. I searched your entire floor and didn't find one strand of hair. Not from Sayaka and not even from you. Very interesting..."
After that interaction, Kyoko went to inspect other areas of the room. I decided to head to the bathroom where Sayaka's corpse was. I gulp before stepping inside, feeling a bit nauseous when I saw Sayaka's body.
I stepped towards her body, inspecting the scene. Sayaka had a knife thrusted in her abdomen, it most likely being the wound that had killed her. I then inspected her right wrist, which according to the Monokuma File was fractured. Her right wrist was swollen and bloody, but there was something gold there as well.
On her left hand, her index finger had blood on it while the rest of her hand was spotless. While I was inspecting her left hand, I noticed something written behind her. I looked past Sayaka's body to see something written in blood.
11037.
It looked like it was the numbers 11037, but I couldn't see to clearly due to it being slightly smudged and concealed by Sayaka's corpse. It sort of resembled a name?-
"Those numbers are most likely Sayaka's dying message," Kyoko speaks behind me. I turn my head to see that Kyoko was standing in the doorway, gazing over at Sayaka's corpse. "11037...I'm not sure what that could possibly mean. We can try to decode it later on I suppose."
I nod, walking out of the bathroom. I didn't spare one more glance behind me as I left the bathroom. Kyoko then began inspecting the door, humming in slight thought. I look around the room once again, finding nothing new. I then leave the scene, a small sigh escaping my lips.
I close the door behind me, noticing something odd about the nameplates on the door. The nameplates on the door display the person's name and a small, pixelated version of themselves. The strange thing was that the nameplate on my door was Sayaka's nameplate. I let out a grunt of confusion as I turn to Sayaka's door, only to see that my nameplate was there.
"What the heck..." I mumble, running a hand through my hair. I shake my head and begin walking around the school. Before I knew it, time was up.
A monitor near me had lit up, Monokuma showing up on screen. He was sitting in his chair, leading his elbow against the arm rest. He had his cheek rested against the palm of his hand as he drank from a juice box.
"Um, anyways, I'm tired of waiting. Why don't we just get started, huh?" Monokuma whines as he sits up. He tosses the juice box behind him, a smile adorning his features. "It's time for the long awaited class trial! Please go through the red door on the 1st floor. See you soon!"
I gulp, anxiety beginning to form in my chest as I began to make my way through the hallway. I make my way towards the red door, my hands starting to shake slightly. Finally, I stood in front of the large, red door. I slowly reached my hand out, grabbing the handle.
This is it. This will be the beginning of the first class trial.
