Eran barely smiled after that.
It's uncomfortable to be in the company of the group that's trying to kill your family, but there was nothing she could do about it. Occasionally, Eran would still call her family. It was then, she smiled.
Brother Eduan was nice enough to buy a book. It was a shared diary, like what she proposed when she was chatting with him. Eran found herself writing about silly things, and accompanying it with cute doodles. That diary was an easier way for her to communicate with all of her family.
From that day onwards, Eran also almost always wore the scarf around her face. The scarf seemed to serve as a protection for Eran. She doesn't really need to see, when she was able to sense the shinsu around her after all.
Eran did talk with bam, but it was emptier now. She reverted back to her old self again, the one that was emptier and sadder. Her family and the residents did try to make her happy again, but she couldn't find it in herself to do it. She would still smile, just not as much as before.
Why should she smile if she wasn't happy?
Eran sat through all of Bam's training. After who knows how long, Bam and Eran finally started climbing the tower again.
...
When they were climbing the tower, Eran would mostly just tag along Bam and make him do most of the work. Not that Bam ever complained, he felt guilty Rachel betrayed her too.
"Brother, I'm tired." Eran complained.
The current test was a thirty-minute survival test. The regulars could use any means to eliminate one another.
As such, Bam killed may of the other regulars while Eran was just resting. Naturally, if Bam needed help, she would step in. But otherwise, Eran wouldn't do much if anything.

I wanna hug someone cute now.
"
"Haha!" Eran laughed, which got Bam's attention. "The both of you are so cute! Oh, you're adorable too Bam."
"..." Bam shyly looked away.
...
Apparently, now the regulars want to end each other. Eran softly sighed.
The regulars are now holding a mini-democracy to try and eliminate someone...? Eran didn't really care.
"There is no reason to vote." Bam spoke. "Because you will all fail the test because of me."
"You're going to eliminate us...? Are you serious?" Tall white man scoffed. He pulled out an umbrella, and pointed it at Bam. "Tell me."
Bam gently pushed the tip of the umbrella away from him, before slamming it away from him in one fluid motion. Caught off guard, tall white man paused. Immediate, Bam fired a bang at him, which the tall white man barely managed to dodge. When bam tried to hit him again, the tall white man took a few steps back and created distance from Bam.
"You jerk. What's this all about..." The tall white man grinded his teeth as he complained.
Bam then started approaching the tall white man again.
"Stop this. " a teddy bear man said. He was really big, and completely towered over Bam. "I don't know how strong you are... but no one on the 20th floor will be so easy for you."
"You're just making it easy for the next competitors, so stop it." The teddy man said.
"... This isn't a fight. I'm just dropping you all." Bam calmly spoke.
"!!" The teddy man then got serious. "You're going to regret this."
Not really. Eran snorted quietly.
The blue thing on his shoulder changed into a small red fist icon. Suddenly, a blue beam shot towards Bam.

Bam sidestepped it, so the beam shot was between the teddy man and bam.
The teddy man was confused. "What are you doing?"
"Whoops, sorry." The white man casually said. "I tried to shoot him, but it almost hit you too."
Naturally, the teddy man was much more angry, evident as his face contorted in anger.
Bam was currently in between The white man and the teddy man.
Suddenly, he disappeared. He then struck the teddy man first. He tried to kick his head, but it was blocked. When the teddy man tried to strike back, Bam dodged.
The white umbrella man charged up another shot, but it coincidentally hit the teddy man.
Then, the teddy man, irritated with the umbrella man's antics, attacked him. Then, Bam stepped in between them, with shinsu coating both of his hands.
A loud 'bang!' sound could be heard as Bam fired the shinsu from both his hands. The shinsu was really pretty, two messy blue beams being fired from bam resembled two tornadoes.
Silence descended upon the room, after the other regulars came to terms with the fact that Bam truly was a slayer nominee of FUG.
"That was a good one!" Eran cheered for him, as she waved her hands in the air.
Bam nodded his head, but she could the he was feeling embarrassed from my praise. She didn't praise people often, after all.
Just then, a poor regular entered the room. Even before he could process what was going on, bam already killed him.
"... Hey, teddy bear." The umbrella man called out. "I changed my mind. Let's get together and beat that monster."
Again, Bam positioned himself between the teddy man and the umbrella man.
But by then, Eran genuinely didn't care much. She didn't think anyone was going to die anymore, so she shut her eyes and quietly slept.
...
"Beep! Survivors, please get in the elevator!" Bam stopped attacking, and made his way over to Eran. The two shadows, Cherry and El, both climbed off of their master's body when they saw him walking over. He carefully picked the sleeping girl up, and carried her in his arms. As he quietly walked towards the lift, no one spoke.
"Take him first." Wangnan said. "Who would want to ride with him anyway?"
When bam carried Eran to the next testing site, he was complete silent. He didn't want to wake her up. Eran barely rested after all. Usually, she would shut her eyes for a few minutes before opening them again. Even when she did sleep, should often have bad dreams.
Teacher was always worried about Eran's messed up sleep schedule, so whenever Eran slept, no one would bother her. Even the chirpy Cherry was quiet.
Bam softly but firmly held Eran's body close to his. He felt extremely guilty when she was also implicated when Rachel pushed him off.
Although Eran have told him on multiple occasions that she leapt off on her own, he still felt guilty. Bam was also incredibly grateful for Eran. Although she knew that he was part of FUG, she did not look at him with disdain or hate him. She was still his close friend. Throughout his lonely training, Eran did not leave him, and accompanied him instead. Bam would always be thankful for that.
When the regulars ever got a little too noisy, bam would gently cover cloth over the ears of Eran.
"If sister doesn't wake up, we'll take the test for her." El whispered. "So let her sleep."
Bam nodded his head.

The Abyssal Dungeon
The world of Vol, a huge, bountiful plane where the only constant is life, in its many, many forms. One such form is a dungeon core, a peculiar little gemstone, and the focus of our attention. Watch as this otherwise unremarkable gem awakens in one of the most resplendant places in Vol, an aptly named Mana Reef, and how it turns its simple hole in the ocean floor into something truly unique, all while the rest of the world is forced to deal with its growth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is my first venture into writing for fun, and I'm hoping to keep this running until I run out of juice. With that said, I very much enjoy dungeon core novels, and wanted to do one a bit outside the norm. Hope you enjoy! If you want to come stop by the discord, I know we'd all be more than happy to welcome you! https://discord.gg/pcR5g5XX8h

Exponential Mana Regeneration
When the Change occurred, humanity suddenly found itself with superhuman constitutions and the ability to use mana. All the government leaders had known about it beforehand and had made an announcement, so there was little strife and instead excitement to loot the dungeons that the Change had created. Kyle Anders was incredibly excited when he saw his starting skill, called Exponential Mana Regeneration, but his excitement quickly waned when he realized it was almost useless with his starting mana pool of twenty. He had nearly given up hope on being a mage when his family got him a new skill for his 18th birthday. Suddenly, with his mana pool expanded because of the skill, Kyle’s mana regeneration shot through the roof. But while humanity worked hard to loot dungeons and increase their skills and stats, Change was coming, and peace cannot last forever. The story is currently on haitus. (This story is a work in progress. As the first story that I have ever written, the beginning, especially the first ten chapters or so, needs heavy editing. I have decided to continue writing the story instead of going back and editing the beginning. I hope that despite all its flaws you will still find my story enjoyable.)
