Life is more about words than we

even know. Words can create in-

visible wounds, phantom pain in-

flicted upon the heart. They can

burrow themselves beneath skin. They

can paint sceneries within minds—

sceneries that have never ex-

isted at all, or that exist-

ed once upon a time. They make

up all thoughts and memories and

are buried with us once our lives

are snuffed out. Words use many sen-

ses, because they can be seen, heard

and felt—not by fingertips, but

by souls. Humans can even fall

in love with each other based on-

ly upon the words uttered from

our lips. I cannot help but won-

der if things might have turned out dif-

ferently if I had said the

right words. I did not even know

the right words then—but I do now.
