"What the hell do you want?" I stare at Peter, my patience practically gone.

"Is this how you treat your best friend?" He walks through with a wide grin, happy as always.

I say nothing, so he continues. "Okay, Mr. Grouchy. I was just trying to let you know that the office has been chatting quite a bit. Mainly about you and Yasmin, if you catch my drift." He raises his eyebrows with wide eyes.

"And what are they saying exactly?" I lean back in my chair and cross my arms over my chest.

"That you two are fucking... to put it bluntly," his dimples deepen as he smiles devilishly.

I say nothing again and he practically squeals, "You are not hitting that! No way! You?! Logan freaking Carter, doted husband, work-a-holic, you?!" He flaps his arms about, pointing his fingers at me and laughing.

"I'm glad you find this entertaining."

"Oh, I do! Wait, does Sarah know? Does anyone know?" He steps closer and leans on my desk.

I pause, wondering if I should even tell such a blabber mouth about me and Yaz. He senses my hesitation and picks up a pen as he speaks.

"Look, dude, I'm not going to blab to anyone if you want it to be a secret. I'm not a snitch, we're friends."

I give him a look which he frowns at, "we are friends, maybe not the conventional best-buds but I think of you like a brother. And older one. Because you're old."

"I'm only two years older than you, and I know you and Yasmin had a thing, that's why I'm not telling you shit." He shrugs as if that proved his point, but then realized what I said, he freezes.

"You said what now?" He raises a brow and looks at me.

Rolling my eyes, I truest what I said to

him. "I remember, when she first started here, you two became real chummy. Laughing, giggling, that's why you're so interested in my love life."

He bursts out laughing, "for someone so smart, you're kind of dumb. I didn't have sex with Yasmin, would I like to? Hell yes, but no, I didn't. It wasn't like that, we only talked. But regardless, tell me the tea please."

Peter was never one to hide his conquests, choosing to believe him, I begrudgingly tell him.

"Yes, Yasmin and I had an affair. We have for nearly six months. I left Sarah and we finalized a divorce. She's also... uh, pregnant." His eyes nearly popped out of his skull as he took in my words.

"Six months?! Dude!" He drops his body onto the couch as if he was distressed. "And people are just now getting suspicious, that's crazy. Wait, so you're in love with Yaz?" He sits up and looks at me.

I pause, "well, yeah. Things are just complicated right now."

"Yes or no, nothing is complicated about that question." He suddenly became serious.

"Yes, I love her. But like I said, things are complicated." I look away from him and scowl at my desk.

"So you thought you loved her and something changed your mind?" He smiles and looks away, standing up from the couch. "I know this because, that's how it was with my ex."

"You had an ex? As in an ex-girlfriend?" I watch as he starts pacing the floor.

"No, an ex-fiance. She was batshit crazy and I genuinely was head over heels for her. She had some issues but I figured that I could save her from herself. Because I loved her. But she didn't love me, she didn't know how to love. She was manipulative and used my feelings for her to get me to do things for her.

"Not sure if you know this, but there are so many types of love. Some good and some bad." I take in his words and frown at him.

"Since when are you smart?"

"Gee, thanks." He shakes his head with a grin, knowing I was joking around.

"But seriously, don't beat around the bush when it comes to relationships. Tell her how it is— without being a complete asshole— and you both can move forward at your own pace. They call me the love doctor, you know that right?" He flicks your his collar and shoots finger guns at me, doing a weird dance.

"No the hell they don't." I rub my forehead with my fingers, trying to ease the killer headache.

"Where is she by the way?"

"She's out with my father," he finally stops dancing and looks at me.

"Shit, does he know?"

"Doubt it, my father isn't the most perceptive man in the world. For people to find him so intimidating, he's honestly a big softie." I close my eyes and lean back in my chair.

"You sound pretty confident." I hear his steps become distant as he walks around.

"What can he do? Yell at me?" I open my eyes and find Peter at her desk while Yaz leans against the door, watching me.

"Whoa, what the fuck! I didn't even hear the door open." Peter jumps and drops his hand from her desk, like she didn't already see him touching things. "Hey, pretty lady." He walks over to her and hugs her with a smile.

Oddly enough, she returns his embrace sincerely. "Hey, Peter." She smiles at him, pulling away gently. She looks at me before quickly looking away and heading over to her desk.

Peter looks between us and started whistling, backing up towards the door slowly. "So, yeah, I'm gonna head out. Always a pleasure to see you, lovely." He blows her a kiss and winks at me before leaving and closing the door behind him.

He pops back in and peeps his head through, "don't forget what I said,

Lo-Lo. Love you!" He laughs and shuts the door.

I look over at Yaz and think about the best way to tell her I don't love her anymore.
