《》The Ultimate Confrontation

I walked into work stiffly. I had one mission for today:

Pretend like nothing ever happened.

Don't greet him, don't get his coffee, don't organize his shit. Fuck that bastard.

Now all I had to do was put these thoughts into motion.

My cuts were a remainder of what happened over the weekend, what I felt over the weekend. Absolute worthlessness. And he put that feeling in me.

I felt the stinging pain of my pantsuit brushing against my thigh, within two weeks they should heal properly and only leave faint marks. It's not like anybody would notice, no one ever notices.

I open the door to the office and pretend like he's not there. But I could see his shock from my peripheral vision. He cleared his throat as I took a seat at my desk and set my things down.

The tension was heavy as neither of us said anything, you could hear a pin drop.

He cleared his throat again before speaking, "Listen, Yasmin—"

I cut him off by getting up and leaving the room. I let the door close behind me and brace myself against the wall. Breathe. Don't be so fucking weak.

I exhale and straighten myself up, I walk to the bathroom and stand in front of the mirror. "You mean nothing to him. Get that through your fucking skull." I check my makeup and walk out.

As I open the door to the office I hear voices, I immediately recognized who it was. Why does this have to happen to me, I was gone for three minutes.

I grit my teeth and step through, Sarah simply watches me with a blank stare. I smile at her, "morning, Sarah."

Her eyebrows raise in surprise, she sputters a "good morning" back. I can feel Logan's eyes on my back as I walk to my desk and begin work.

"So, I was wondering if we could have lunch together today to discuss some things. My dad has some topics to talk to you about." She twirls her blonde ringlets on a finger and taps her fingers on his desk.

"Yeah, sure." They share a long kiss goodbye which I squeeze my eyes shut at.

"Bye, baby." She waves at him and leaves the room.

I can hear Logan get up and my anxiety spikes, don't you dare give in to him.

"Yasmin, you don't have to say anything, just listen. I know I fucked up and I hurt you, and I'm so sorry for that. But I— I need to know that you won't say anything to Sarah about

us—"

"There is no us, get over yourself." His head jerks back at my sharp tone.

"Look, Yaz, can we at least be cordial wi—"

"Say another word to me and I promise you I'll have a little catch up with your wife." That shut him up pretty quickly, he nods stiffly and walks back to his desk.

I've never been a snitch and as much as I'd love to make him feel the hurt I feel, telling his wife wouldn't bring me any happiness. I pray the guilt eats him alive, God, make him suffer.

At seven pm, I start shutting my computer off and gather my things to leave. Phone in hand, I scroll through my contact list.

Bryan? Big dick but can't use it.

Conner? Too hairy.

David? Can't even remember him.

Derrick? Big dick, nice body, and amazing with his tongue.

We have a winner.

I click the phone button and after two rings, he answers. "Hello." His deep, smooth voice sounded through the phone.

"Derrick? You busy?" Logan looks up at the sound of my voice. I ignore him and walk past him to the door.

"No actually. What's up?" I could practically see the smirk on his face in my mind.

"Mind if I come over?" He chuckles at my question.

"Miss me already, huh?"

"Something like that." A smile reaches my face for the first time in a week. I was going to get attention tonight, even if only for the night, somebody would notice me.

Even if it isn't him.
