《》The Ultimate Bestie

I came into work early today, just in a good mood. But my good mood was interrupted by my annoying friend, Peter.

"Wassup, buddy! Or should I say, boss?" He clasps my shoulders but releases me to salute like we were in the military.

"I hate you."

He belted out a laugh, "In that wonderful mood as usual. Speaking of good moods, there is a specific dark haired woman wandering the halls of this department, is it fucking true you get to sit next to such a creature." I could practically see the stars in his eyes as he looked away from me to look out the window with awe on his face.

"Yasmin? It's pretty normal, she's nice." I hope he couldn't tell that I just lied straight through my teeth.

"Nice? There is no way in hell that woman is just nice. Nice is boring, that lady has got to be meeeaaannn, she's so fucking hot it's unnatural." The glass in front of him was beginning to fog up from his breathing and my face scrunched up in disgust.

"Get the fuck off my window, Pete. I don't want any saliva or other liquids staining my office." He backs away and turns to grin at me, he looks over my shoulder and freezes.

"Don't you mean our office?" I refrain from shouting in fear at her unknown presence and opt for slowly turning to face her. Yeah, real fucking smooth.

"Oh, y-yeah, our off-fice." I can hear Peter snickering behind me.

"So tense in this room. Relax." She walks into the room and walks up to Peter with an enchanting smile on her lips. "We haven't met, I'm Yasmin." She holds out her hand for him to shake.

I've never seen him so shocked, his eyebrows were basically in his hairline as his mouth gaped at the woman before him. "I'm Peter, you lovely woman." He turns her hand over and places a kiss onto it. I try my very hardest not to roll my eyes.

She smiles wider, "It's very nice to meet you, Peter. How do you and Logan know each other?" Pete is still holding her hand in both of his like the creepo he is. Though she doesn't seem to mind, amusement was obvious on her face.

I elbow him in his side and he gently places her hand at her side, still somewhat hypnotized. I pinch the bridge of my nose and sigh. "I've know this child since we were ten years old. Sadly." That seems to take Pete's attention away from the love of his life and turn to me with a glare.

"Child? Excuse me? Yasmin, did anyone tell you how him and Sarah met. No? Well guess what this genius did, he got so nervous when she smiled and waved at him that he literally threw up on himsel—" I stop him by discreetly smacking him upside is stupid head.

"I think that's enough story time, right Petey?" He scowls at me while rubbing the back of his head and turns to Yasmin who is struggling not to laugh. And then he's gone once again.

"Has anyone ever told you that you are single handedly the most beautiful woman in the world?" He shakes his head as he stares at her. I stare at him silently telling him to shut the hell up.

"I don't think so." She tilts her head up at him and smiles slightly.

"Then they're all damned fools." At that comment she actually laughs.

What?

Yasmin Krämer is laughing. Not a fake or forced laugh. THIS IS NOT A DRILL! Like throwing her head back laughing, her eyes were closed and two crater like dimples indented her cheeks. Though, it didn't last longer than a few seconds, the damage was done. Peter looks like he's about to go into cardiac arrest. I, however, can't take my eyes off of her carefree expression. Damn.

For once she wasn't guarded. And I had absolutely nothing to do with it.

"Thank you, Peter. You have made my day already." Her laugh calms into small chuckles as she stares at him with fondness. Peter stares at her for a moment too long before clearing his throat.

"The pleasure is all mine." They stare at each other silently and that's when a feeling sets in the pit of my stomach. I felt the need to step out as the two had a moment in front of me.

The annoying feeling only seemed to grow stronger as I stared at them. What is wrong with me?

"I know this may seem a bit forward, but I would love to take you for a drink tonight. Or hell, any night. I'd like to continue making your day, if you want." Now my eyebrows shoot up at his words. My eyes move from one to the other like watching a tennis match.

What is happening right now?

She smiles again— she's just on a roll today— and steps up closer to Peter. "I would love that."

And that's when it hit me.

What that nagging feeling was in my stomach and why I suddenly got angry.

And I had no right to feel this. I had made up with my wife, whom I love very much. I finally resolved that whatever I felt for Yasmin was purely attraction and I no longer felt anything for her.

But I was wrong. Today, I realize that this isn't regular attraction like if you saw a hot actress on TV. No, what I was feeling wasn't so minuscule.

This feeling was nauseating and raw. Maybe I was being dramatic, but I knew the feeling.

I was fucking jealous.
