《Broken-(A Loki Fanfic)》Chapter Seventeen

Loki had set me down after a bit. After walking for a while, we started to get closer to the city.
"How are we going to get to the Bifrost?" I asked.
"Excellent question," Loki replied. "I have no idea."
"And doesn't Heimdall serve Odin? How would we get through anyways?"
"Another excellent question. Have you got any more?" I rolled my eyes.
"You're just upset because your plan won't be as easy as you'd hoped."
"Shut up." I smirked.
"So, what do we do?"
"I'm thinking."
"Is there anyone who'd be willing to help us?"
"Possibly Thor, but he's far more interested in the greater good. He'd throw me back in the cell. Although, he might try to convince Odin of your innocence. I doubt it would do any good though." I thought of all the Valkyries I knew. I only really knew two of them, but one of them definitely wanted me dead. Alma might help, but I couldn't take that chance.
"Wait, I have an idea." He turned to look at me. "There's a Valkyrie portal rift thingie. It leads straight to Earth. If we could just sneak into and through Valhalla we should make it."
"I suppose we could make that work. To Valhalla."
We managed to get thought the towns without attention. Loki had given us each a cloak to wear to try to conceal ourselves. I was fairly certain he stole them from one of the vendors we passed. At the moment, though, it was the least of my concerns.
We neared the entrance to Valhalla. "I don't think cloaks will work in here," Loki said. "I'll make us invisible, but we'll have to be quick. Ready?"
"Ready enough. Let's go." With the wave of a hand, he and I both became invisible. "I can't see you. How's this going to work?"
"Just a second." My hand alone returned to visibility. I felt something grab it as it disappeared again. "There. Don't let go." His hand moved past my wrist and down to my hand. "Lead the way, Valkyrie."
"Don't be so weird when you call me that."

"Shh." I rolled my eyes, not that anyone could tell.
I pulled him through the semi-familiar halls. We headed towards the elevator. I press the open button and stepped inside. "I'm gonna need to see my hands." It wasn't long before we could see each other.
"I think I know where we are. I've heard about it."
"That's cool." My response came in a monotone since I was focused on remembering the code.
"Okay, that should do it." I stepped back, and he took my hand again. I leaned on his arm. "I'm going home," I said hopefully.
"Yes, you are."
The elevator came to a stop and made a noise. The doors opened and as soon I readied myself to walk out, I met a familiar face. It was none other than the oh-so-loving Ilia.
"Oh, shit."
"You," she spat. "What are you doing here?"
"Trying to get back home. You?"
"Taking you to Odin."
"Of course you are."
"I don't mean to interrupt," Loki began to ironically interrupt, "but I don't think I can let that happen." He stepped in front of me decisively and looked down at Ilia.
"What? You think you aren't going with her? You're hilarious. Now, we can do this the easy way, or the hard way."
"You think you can stop me, little Valkyrie? I'd like to see you try."
"Loki," I whispered as I grabbed his arm.
"Bold of you to assume that I'm alone." I saw Loki become as confused as I was. Thor stepped out from the rift and came to Ilia's side.
"Oh, shit," Loki said. I nearly snorted until I realized how bad the situation really was. "Hello, brother."
"Hello, Loki. Lady Lilith."
Loki, I thought. What do we do?
"I don't have a clue."
Well, fuck.
"You seem to have quite the vocabulary."
I'm stressed. Are you not?
"A bit. I suppose we should fight our way through."
Okay then, let's go. Loki summoned his blades to his hands.
"Loki, please don't" Thor said with sadness in his voice. "I do not wish to fight you brother."

"Then don't. I'd gladly walk out of here with Lilith."
"Loki, please."
"Thor, either fight me or don't. It's rather simple." With a sigh, Thor pulled his hammer to a fighting stance.
"Alright then." He struck Loki's daggers, not giving Ilia any warning. She fell to the ground to avoid getting pummeled. Despite her attempts to hide it, there was fear in her eyes.
"What the hell?" she yelled as she rolled away from their fight. They struck at each other. Each seemed to have their moments of beating the other.
I was so distracted by their fight until I saw Ilia coming at me. She almost hit me with her sword, but I quickly managed to summon my daggers and block her.
"Ilia, are you crazy?"
"You're asking me that?" Our blades slid apart and she struck again. "You're following the god of mischief and lies. How is that not crazy?"
"Have you ever sat down and had a decent conversation with him?"
"Why the hell would I do that?!" She struck multiple more times before kicking my feet and knocking me to the ground. She knocked my blades out of my hands and held her sword to my throat.
"Shit." Loki must have heard me because he looked in my direction the second I said that.
"Lilith!" he called. My unintentional distraction gave Thor the perfect shot. Thor used the pummel of his hammer to hit Loki in the head. His body gave out as he collapsed to the floor.
"No!" I screamed. "Loki." All of a sudden, my daggers were in my hands again. I threw one at Ilia, wounding her leg. She screamed in pain as she fell. I took my attention away from her and put it to Thor. "Get away from him."
"Lady Lilith, please. Do not—"
"Don't fight? No, we're way past not fighting." I threw my other dagger at him, but he easily dodged it. Ilia had taken the first one out of her leg and set it beside her. I quickly swooped down and grabbed it before she could stop me. "I'm tired of all this bullshit. I just wanted to go home. But can I? Oh no! That's silly. Why go home when you can stay here on Asgard and be put to your death? Hmm?"
I lunged towards Thor. He swung his hammer at me, but I slid under. Loki was my main priority. I knelt down beside him. He was still breathing, so that was good. "Loki, please, wake up. I need you to wake up. You have to wake up." Nothing I did made him even stir. I was so caught up in him that I was surprised to feel a hand grab my arm. Thor took both of my arms and held them behind my back. "No!" I yelled as he pulled me away from Loki. "No. Please! Loki!" I tried to fight him, but he was too strong. "Loki!" I hadn't realized I was crying until a salty tear had slipped into my mouth.
Ilia had torn part of her clothes to bandage her leg. She stood in front of me, watching me struggle. "I expected more from you when you became a Valkyrie. But then you became a traitor," she scowled.
"Lady Ilia, do not make things worse," Thor said from behind me. I gave up trying to fight him and fell to my knees. My arms uncomfortably hung behind me, still in Thor's grip.
Thor bound my hands with chains. More chains wrapped around my back, preventing me from spreading my wings. I didn't plan on it anyways. I wasn't going to leave him.
Thor had Ilia drag me along so he could pick up Loki's unconscious body. The walk was long and miserable.
Loki? Are you there? I didn't get an answer. I tried a few more times. None of them were successful.
I froze when we got to the palace steps. My stop had jerked Ilia back since she had kept going. "Come on," she said as she gave the chain a tug. I fumbled after her.
She walked with such confidence, like she'd just caught the best animal in the hunt. I couldn't walk like that. I was about to be sentenced to death. Honestly, I wasn't ready to die.
