"Elijah, calm down," William said in a soothing tone.

Calm down? How could he calm down right now? The love of his life took off to her home. Elijah had no idea where that was. The wedding was tomorrow. The best plan for everyone involved, was having both weddings at the same time. Lady Elizabeth and William were on board with that plan. The two lovebirds could hardly take their eyes or hands off each other. Elijah knew Katherine said she would marry him, but he had no idea if she still felt that way or she would do it so soon.

The Duchess was out taking care of some last-minute preparations for the ceremony, and Elijah was pacing in the library impatiently waiting for her return. He was hoping she would have some answers regarding more information on Katherine...Like her address.

"I can't calm down, William. The love of my life is out there somewhere. What if she gets attacked again? She's alone."

William frowned. "Didn't she save your life last time?"

Elijah covered his face with his hand as he tried to control his temper. He really wanted to strangle his best friend right now.

"Hi, William," a female voice said from the doorway.

Elijah removed his hand when he heard lady Elizabeth's voice. He turned to see her walking past the library as she blushed and gave William a flirty wave.

"Hey," William said breathlessly as he saw her. Everything seemed to disappear whenever Lady Elizabeth was around him.

Elijah rolled his eyes, "William, can you focus, please? Yes, she saved my life last time. But last time, there was two of us."

Not only that, there was just so many things that can happen and he was worried about her. His deepest fear was that he wouldn't be able to find her. Just when he found a way for them to be together forever.

"So, what are you going to do?" William asked.

That was the big question wasn't it? Elijah has been asking himself that ever since he met Katherine in the cabin. The cabin...When they were there, she had her trunk open and her things laying about. Perhaps something had fallen out? Something with a clue to where she lives?

"I'm going back to the cabin. Maybe there is something there that can help me find her," Elijah answered.

Williams eyes widened at Elijah's response. "Do you need me to come with you?"

"No, I need you to stay here and wait for my mother to come back. Just in case she has some news."

"Be careful, Elijah," William warned. "You don't want to run unto highwaymen either."

Elijah started out of the room when he said, "They should be worried about me right now."

William headed towards his room that wasn't too far from Elijah's. When William turned sixteen, Elijah told him he made a room for him here. That he was welcome to use it anytime he wished. He always felt like he could never accept that gift. Up until he met a certain blond a few days ago. Now it was hard to leave.

William had sent word as soon as he found out he was able to marry Lady Elizabeth. He knew his parents would like her and he wanted them to be there when she became his wife.

He walked into his room and shut the door behind him. He quickly made work of taking off his shoes and shirt. The pass few days have definitely taken a toll on him and he wanted some rest. He heard a noise behind him and turned around, still wearing his pants.

"Please, don't stop on my account," Lady Elizabeth said with a sultry smile. She was standing over by his table where it appeared she had brought him some food.

He stood there as he took in her appearance. She was wearing a long cloak that covered her body from his view. "Did you sneak in my room, Lady Elizabeth?"

Her cheeks heated. "I brought you something."

William eyed the food. "I see that."

When she blushed again, William had to stifle a grown. Her shyness was going to be the death of him.

"Not just the food?" William asked as he started sauntering in her direction. He stopped in front of her and cupped the side of her face. "Tell me what you brought me, darling."

Her eyes went to his lips. He could see the desire in her eyes. She tried to lean in for a kiss and he gently placed his finger over her lips, stopping her.

"Ah, ah. My surprise first."

She took a step back and gave a him look that made him wish they were married already. They had a few intimate moments, but he wanted to know what it felt like inside her warm body. Heaven, he imagined.

"William, I think I need help with my cloak. Do you mind unbuttoning it for me?"

Heat flooded him as he remembered her asking him something similar in the stables. His eyes never left hers as he unbuttoned her cloak. He hesitated for just a moment before pushing it from her shoulders.

The heavy cloth fell to the floor and he couldn't help but suck in his breath when he saw her standing nude before him. He's seen her this way once before, but it still shook him to his core.

His eyes roamed over her body before meeting her lustful stare again. "Looks like I'm not taking a nap after all."

Lady Elizabeth giggled with delight as he scooped her up and took her to his bed. He stretched out next to her and stroked the side of her face.

"How did I get so lucky?" He breathed before he placed his lips to hers.

It took Elijah a couple hours to get to the cabin that they had shared. He was cautious as he approached it, in case someone else was staying there now. Thankfully, it was empty. Nostalgia filled him as he looked around. His eyes immediately went to the blanket that was still on the floor in front of the fireplace. That night when he had gotten to know her body so well played through his mind.

Elijah had been with other women before her, but none of them even compared. When he tried to think about his past, all he saw was her. The way her body responded to him and the way his name sounded when she became overwhelmed with pleasure.

She was it. She was the one. He just needed to find her. He started looking around the cabin; first where she kept her trunk. Nothing. He wasn't sure how long he searched, but he knew it was another dead end. He was getting ready to leave when something caught his eye.

He saw the edge of a piece of paper poking out from underneath the blanket on the floor. He frowned as he bent down to pick it up. As he read the front of it, he gasped in surprise.

The front of the letter read:

Katherine Bennet

3214 Farringdon Road

London, England

Elijah's hands shook as he let out a relived breath. "Katherine Bennet," he said quietly. He clutched the letter as he ran from the cabin and got on his horse. He was one step closer to finding his woman.

Katherine let out a frustrated sigh as her sister Mary walked in the room. She had requested some time to herself, but that seemed impossible.

"Katherine, we just don't understand why you came back? I mean...did something happen?"

Did something happen? What was she supposed to say?

Yes, Mary. Something did happen. I got attacked by highwaymen, met and fell in love with a Duke; whom I gave my virtue to. Then I ran away scared because I couldn't have him.

Yeah, that would go over well.

"No, Mary. Look can we please talk about this later? My head aches." It was actually her heart that ached. Ached for the man that stole it.

"All right, then. Alice, mother and I are going into town. We'll be back later."

After they left Katherine spent the next hour trying to read. Her mind kept going back to Elijah; wondering what he was doing. She knew he must have found her letter by now.

"Hey, Kitten."

Katherine froze and her heart dropped at the familiar voice. She refused to turn around. She feared it was a dream or she has moved on to full blown hallucinations.

"Kitten..."

She closed her eyes tight as she whispered, "You aren't real. You can't be real..."

She heard his footsteps as he got closer. She felt his hands on her shoulders as he gently urged her to turn around. When she finally faced him, she let out a shaky breath.

"I'm real, Kitten. I'm here," he said as he wiped away the tears she didn't realize had fallen.

She threw her arms around his neck and squeezed him tight.

"God, I didn't think I would find you," he said as he stroked her hair.

She pulled away from him and placed her hands on his chest. "How? How did you find me?"

He pulled the letter out if his pocket. "I found this in the abandoned cabin."

She looked at the letter her mother had given her before she left home and she frowned. "You went back to the cabin? Why?"

"For you. I needed to find you. Why did you leave?"

Her heart squeezed in her chest at the pain in his voice. "I was worried we wouldn't be able to be married. I knew you would ask me to run away with you and I...wouldn't have been able to say no. Buy that would have been selfish of me. I couldn't make you choose between me and your family, Elijah."

He gave her that same sly smile that made her melt. "Katherine, that's not going to happen." He clasped her hands and took a deep breath. "I did it. I spoke to my mother and we got everything worked out."

"What are you saying, Elijah?" She heard his words, but she was afraid to believe it.

"Kitten, we can get married. If you'll still have me," he said with a smile.

"Yes!" She exclaimed as she crushed her lips against his.

Just as he clutched her to him and deepened the kiss, someone said, "Oh, my God."

She and Elijah looked to the door to see her sisters and her mother. All had looks of shock on their faces.

Elijah laughed before he looked back to Katherine. "Kitten, I think we have some explaining to do."
