Summer was mediocre. I spent most of my time with the gang and had gotten closer to JJ, and my surprise, Katie. Getting hit by the rock and coming to terms with Emily's sexuality humbled her, and made her a much more pleasant person.

The worst part about it was that Freddie, Cook, and I got chlamydia, which sucked. Cook and I were sleeping together the entire summer, but sometimes I felt like he was using me to get over Effy, who was in Italy at the time. Everyone in the group knew about it, but we didn't make a big deal out of it. I had distanced myself from Panda that summer too. Ever since that night in the woods, I haven't been able to look at her the same. 

The weekend after college started up, we all went to a club run by Thomas. Katie and I were dancing together and having a blast when we were disrupted by a bunch of people screaming.

"What's happened?" I said to Katie.

"Some girl just offed herself. I think I saw her fall from the balcony," Freddie found us both.

Katie and I looked at each other in shock. I felt like I was going to throw up. Thomas got everyone out of the club so they could investigate and there wouldn't be as much chaos.

"Let's head back to my place," Katie said. My mom was off with her new boyfriend, and Sid moved out that August. But he still lived in Bristol, thankfully. Naomi and Emily probably went back to Naomi's. They spent almost the entire Summer together as well.

We walked in and saw her parents in the other room, not turning their heads to say hi. We walked upstairs and saw James, her little brother come out.

"Hey, there, Bri. Want to see my new boxers? They're Calvin Klein's!" He said.

"Pervert," I said as Katie hit him across the head, making him groan in pain. We went into her room, and I plopped on Emily's bed while she sat on her bed.

My phone vibrated and it was a text from Cook, "You home?"

"No, at Katie's," I replied.

"Was that Cook?" Katie said.

I nodded.

 "So, what exactly happened between you two when you went to go looking for him and Eff? I mean how did it start?"

"So here's what happened. JJ told Effy she needed to pick between the boys to end this once and for all. I was in the other room so I couldn't hear anything. According to JJ, she didn't say anything, but her eyes were fixed on Freddie. Cook stormed out and was super pissed. Fast forward, we ended up stealing Cook's dad's boat and we sail back to Bristol. When we get home, Cook comes over, and we talk things over, and then we just sorta..." 

"Oh, wow. Just like that?" 

I nodded. My phone vibrated and another text from him appeared. I chuckled as I showed Katie the text. 

"Ah, a sleepover. Mind if I come over ;)"

We just laughed as Katie said, "Tell him I said fuck off." 

What a crazy night this has been.
