《More Than Meets the Eye (A Ninjago Fanfic)》Chapter 13: The Fight for Ninjago Part 2

The sunlight has faded. The clouds thick. Our own little ray of sunshine has been obscured by darkness. But the sun will break through...I can feel it.

'He's finished! When I get my hands on him...he's as good as dead!' I thought is rage. My little angel, the meaning for my existence, just died in my arms. 'She's dead...I'll never see her again...'The thought ran through my mind as I felt my suppressed tears slide down my cheeks in burning agony and rage.

Something within me snapped as I saw that devil's body rise from the splintered wood of the deck. "I'll kill him..." I muttered hatefully, my voice venomous. "For Shimmer!" I cried as I leapt to my feet and charged at the man before me.

I commenced to fight Morro with every ounce of rage I housed within my body. My very being trembled in fury. I swung my foot in the air in a round house kick. Rather than making contact with a target, I released an emerald orb of energy from my foot mid-swing. The surge of glowing green energy streaked through the atmosphere, barreling at a dazed Morro who stood, dizzied, on the opposite end of the deck. I took off after the orb in hot pursuit. My orb made contact as I neared my target; the disgraceful form of man who had killed my beloved Shimmer.

I winced as I rose shakily to my feet. I was not expecting that last light attack. It wasn't strong, but it was strong enough. I was losing power...much more power than I let on.

Lloyd mutters something or another and then cries, "for Shimmer!"

I look up at my surroundings long enough to see a large glitteringly beautiful orb of energy in front of my face.

'Oh great. First I use up insane amounts of energy by making myself a material form rather than just my ghost form, then I unintentionally kill my pawn, and now I have to deal with this love-drunk, enraged lunatic...this day just gets better and better.' I thought as I felt the orb make contact with my face, as I hadn't had time to block the attack nor cover my face.

My target fell over, groaning in agony, and then stumbling to his feet. Crimson oozed from his nose in little rivulets as the force of gravity pulled on the thick liquid.

I shot a green stream of energy at the man. Scratch that, you could hardly call this heartless creature a man.

My color infused beam reached it's target, nailing him right in the abdomen. He fell back once more with a grunt. this time, however, he didn't rise. He remained on the deck panting and gasping for oxygen. His face was scarlet and beads of sweat were beginning to gather near his hairline.

"Get up and fight me, Morro!" I cried out as I cautiously approached his collapsed and crumpled figure. He was almost out of energy...I could tell.

I stood over him, casting my shadow over his fallen body and standing triumphantly in the face of his withering energy supply.

In a last ditch effort he kicked me in the chest as he performed a Chinese-get-up, landing nimbly on his feet. He ran a few paces from me in order to place some space between us.

I pushed myself up from the deck as his kick had unbalanced me just enough to topple me. I watched as Morro materialized a thick book from midair. The book had a tough looking, dark brown leather cover with some sort of ancient writing scrawled on the front. The many pages of the book were yellowed with age and ragged around the edges. It looked extremely old. It's a wonder that the binding is still capable of holding the book together.

Morro began to frantically flick through the pages as I finally regained my footing and solidly planted my feet on the deck. He began rambling what I assumed to be the ancient looking text from the antique, leather adorned book.

He concluded his ramblings with a shouted last word. Once his ramblings ceased , the wind itself seemed to shift. Morro launched himself over the railing of the Bounty.

I looked on in horror at the scene unveiled before my eyes. The team who had been frozen in place due to shock at my sudden change of character, snapped out of their daze and launched themselves over the railing with me in order to follow Morro.

A thumping sound was made upon contact between the ground and my feet as it did for the other members of the team.

There before my eyes roared a fierce vortex. It's depths lead to the unknown. The only thing I knew for sure was that this vortex was danger. The sneer on Morro's face said it all.

This was it for those pesky ninja! End of the line! The portal (vortex) is a direct route to the cursed realm. It will take AT LEAST one person to the cursed realm or it will never close. On account of the glare I got from my pawn...I assume she regained her memories and would have known exactly what this is. Too bad the ninja haven't a clue and my slovenly slave of a pawn isn't here to warn them.

'Well, it's time to blow this popsicle stand before this gets ugly.' I thought to myself as I high tailed it outta there and got the heck outta dodge, snickering malevolently as I went.
