《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 82: Lost Master

Not even hours before landing back on Coruscant, there was already news about the Chancellor being targeted. It seemed the war wasn't planning on ending anytime soon, and with each mission assigned, it appeared to be an even more severe case.

Coruscant during the night was a bit frightful. Especially walking in the rural areas where even the air seemed to turn brown and smoky. "So what's the big rush?" Anakin asked. He, too, was confused on why everything was all of a sudden being forced upon. Chancellor Palpatine had many bodyguards and the Council; how many more did he need?

"The Jedi Council has called an emergency meeting," Obi-Wan replied. We were walking to the temple to hear what kind of security Palpatine needed. "I can see it now. Another long, boring debate." Ani sighed, leaning his head backward. It seemed he and I expressed the same emotions going into this meeting.

"Would you rather they call you in to train younglings?" Zander reciprocated. That did sound awful; maybe a meeting was the best call. "Are you crazy?" Ani chuckled.

We headed into a small ship that would get us to the temple at a faster pace, but before even boarding it, a blaster bullet shot right in between Obi-Wan and me.

Anakin quickly held onto my waist, pulling me behind some large metal crates for cover. "Any idea where that shot came from?" Obi-Wan wondered.

I peered my eyes a bit over the edge of the crate, my eyes landing perfectly upon a man.

"A sniper. I see him up there." I commented, pointing at the building up ahead. That was when another shot came directly onto Obi-Wan's path. It seemed to be targeting only him. "All right, here's the plan. Anakin, you flank him on the right. Zander and Y/n, you cover the lower streets. I'm going after him." Master Obi-Wan placed his order, and at that moment, we all ignited our sabers going into our designated spots.

Running from a lower point of view was difficult. My head had to focus on two spots while managing my young Padawan. However, in a matter of seconds, we halted. He seemed to have disappeared, and Anakin and Obi-Wan had both stopped in their tracks. "He disappeared," Zander commented. His eyes wandered the building above, as did mine.

But when my eyes reached the top, Obi-Wan's body fell from the building above, smashing his body onto the metal crates below. "Obi-Wan!" Anakin screamed from up top. "I got him! Go!" I shouted in response. My heartbeat felt like it was about to explode. By the way, he landed; it didn't seem good.

My body moved quickly towards his, bringing his head onto my legs. "Obi-Wan?" I asked. My eyes searched his entire body when they landed on his punctured chest. "No, no, no," I repeated over silently. My throat began to feel a slight sting as my eyes began to water. "Please wake up." I shook his body slowly, but there was no response. Looking up to my Padawan, he froze in place.

"How is he?" Anakin asked as he ran in our direction. I slowly closed my eyes, shoving any possible tears back into the ducts. Looking up at Ani's face was one of the things I didn't want to do. Obi-Wan was dead.

"Obi-Wan... Obi-Wan?" He kneeled beside me, grabbing onto his shoulder as he, too, shook him frantically. His screams became louder as he wished for any movements from his Master, but there were none. His whimpers became silent as his tears ran down the sides of his cheeks. He was going to a dark place; I could feel it.

Attending Obi-Wan's funeral was not something I thought arriving back home would bring. The room was surrounded by almost every Jedi that was close to him. Anakin, however, was different. He hadn't talked the whole day, but I understood why.

Silent sobs filled the room. Obi-Wan's laid on a concrete bed with a plain simple drape over his body. He was being leveled onto the ground slowly. Even Satine attended his funeral in sobs.

"I'm worried about Anakin. He hasn't said a word since it happened." Ahsoka whispered into my ear. I looked at my husband, who stood alone, looking down at his Master's body. He didn't seem sad; he seemed angry. There was hatred, and I could feel it.

His body sunk lower into the ground before the doors shut closed, and a bright light beamed from within. He was truly gone.

The room slowly emptied itself, leaving only Anakin and I alone. "Ani, I'm so sorry," I whispered, moving towards his body. He wore a dark brown robe that hid most of his face. His eyes stared at the ground, not moving for one second until I laid my hand on his shoulder.

"Let's go." He mumbled, passing my body. "Where are we going?" I asked, following his footsteps. "Master Yoda found the sniper." He replied. He was getting a small ship ready that held only two seats. "Is that-" I began but was cut off. "Just follow me." he snapped back. I nodded, taking his orders. I would do anything to make him feel better, even if I knew it would lead me somewhere dark.

The whole ride to the bar was silent, and the only sound there was, was the sound of the moving ships around us.

When we arrived, there was a dark presence surrounding Anakin, hatred. But I had to admit, even I felt it. Obi-Wan was dead, and there was no possible way of getting him back. The only way to avenge his death is to capture his killer. I knew that is something Obi-Wan would have wanted.

"Where is Rako Hardeen?" Anakin scuffed. He furrowed his brows, his veins popping out from his forehead as each word became louder. He then ignited his saber in one hand, making everyone's eyes lay onto his weapon later onto his body. Terrified, the bartender's finger trembled as he pointed towards the back room. Even walking in the middle of the room, the tension was high. It was power.

When we entered Rako's room, he was lying on his bed. So peaceful in a dream he was while Obi-Wan had none. I clenched my teeth, holding back any form of anger I could bring onto this man.

He was bald and had markings on his face. He also wore a simple brown shirt and pants. His room was pitch dark, with only the moonlight giving the room light. "Is he dead?" I mumbled to Anakin, who punched his fist in his other hand. "He's about to be." He scoffed. He walked over to the man rolling him over onto his back.

"A Jedi?" he mumbled a few words. His speech was all over the place as he swallowed his tongue. "Uh.... I already killed a Jedi today. Let me sleep." Rako mumbled. His eyes were still closed. He turned his body, dismissing Anakin in his action. It is about to get nasty.

"He's not dead. He's drunk." Anakin peered over his shoulder. His eyes were staring into mine. They were dark and cold. I couldn't blame his emotions; I felt the same way.

"Get up, you filth!" He yelled at Rako, picking him up with both his hands and shoving his body onto the nearby wall. His legs didn't even touch the ground. He was hanging on the grip of Anakin's hands. "If it was up to me, I would kill you right here! But lucky for you, the man you murdered would rather see you rot in jail." Ani's seethed through gritted teeth. I found myself smirking automatically.

"Now, let's go, you coward, before I change my mind." his legs finally dropped onto the ground but still swung by Anakin's movement as he shoved him across the room to the exit. It was the first time I had fully agreed on the dark side to express hate towards a hundred percent agreeable cause. If it were up to me, I would have also killed Rako Hardeen.
