《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 83: Alive

With Obi-Wan gone, Anakin had spent most of his time with Chancellor Palpatine. As a close father figure, he looked up to him, an advisor who always had the best things to say. The old creep gave me a vibe I didn't particularly appreciate since I met him on Coruscant.
Whenever Ani came home, he went straight into our room and shut himself in for hours. I never wanted to bother him, people grieve in their own ways, and his way was silently and alone. I, on the other hand, just found myself with a hole in my heart. A pain that would sting inside at the reminder of his name.
He was, in fact, the person that saved Padme and I on our home planet. Everyone was having a hard time dealing with the fact that he was no longer here. The negotiator Obi-Wan Kenobi, dead.
I sighed, leaning my whole body onto our living room couch.
It was silent, with only the breeze as a source of sound. It seemed like even nature shared the same feeling as we all did.
Then it all happened in a quick moment; Anakin stepped from outside the room in a hurry to come in front of my feet. "What?" I asked worriedly. He had a look on his face that was the dangerous type. He had another plan in mind.
"Obi-Wan's murderer is on Nal Hutta." He explained in a fast motion. After we turned Rako in, it seemed only hours passed before he had already escaped the facility along with a few other bounty hunters.
Anakin grabbed my hands, cupping them into his making me stand from the couch. "What makes you think he is on Nal Hutta," I asked. I was interested in what led him to a planet that was so deserted and disgusting. "I got a tip from the Chancellor himself." He answered proudly. The Chancellor himself, huh? Wonder where Palpatine gets his resources.
Ani quickly got our ship together, packing all sorts of things we needed. Snacks, blankets, and extra pillows. Oh, I see this trip as being a semi-long one.

When we arrived on Nal Hutta, it was as I expected. The air was so thick it left a green color. However, it wasn't as deserted as I imagined; many ships and citizens were all grouped up in circles.
"How are we gonna find them?" I asked, wandering my eyes to all faces I could land on. "My love, you should know by now if you want to find a lowlife-" Anakin responded. "You start at the Saloon." I finished his sentence pointing in the direction of a crowded bar.

He smirked. We walked up the bridge that led to the front porch of the bar. Two guards were guarding the entrance. "Hey, ladies, where are we going to next? I love you guys." A drunk man asked as he hung his arms on the shoulders of two ladies.
I scrunched my face in disgust; this place was truly disgusting. Walking down the hallway, we were stopped by two more guards, ones that looked like pigs and that held axes in their hands. They made a perfect 'X shape, blocking our path.
Without a word, Anakin used the force, knocking them both onto the ground. Aggressive negotiations was the plan... again. No one seemed bothered by the fact that he just pushed two of their kind onto the ground. They were laughing and cheering him on.
"The fugitives are already gone." The bartender spoke up.
"All three of them were here?" Ani asked. He placed his arms on the table. "Two came in, met the third." He responded.
I raised an eyebrow; I, too, also leaned my arms against the table. "When did they leave?" I questioned the bartender, who looked a bit nervous. "Nothing's free on Nal Hutta, especially information." He answered. I rolled my eyes, but at that moment, Ani raised his hand, choking him. "I don't have time for games." Anakin had a clenched jaw, lifting the man from the ground, his feet hanging from the floor.
"You just missed them." The man groaned, trying every possible way to get air into his lungs. I didn't try to emerge into the situation; I watched. This wasn't the way of the Jedi, but it needs to be done, I hope. "Keep talking," Anakin mumbled. Still in his grasp as though he was squeezing a bit harder every second.
"I heard one of them say they just bought a ship," and with that information, Anakin let go slamming his head onto the table. Every single eye in this bar had their eyes laid onto us. "Let's go, love." He voiced as he walked past my body. I stared at the bartender for a second, choking on the air that had left his lungs only a few seconds ago. This wasn't right.

With new information given to us, our next stop was a speeder dealership—the only one, in fact, close in range to the bar.
"How do you know they couldn't have gotten that far yet?" Anakin asked harshly onto a small-looking alien species. He spoke a different language, one I couldn't understand, but one that Anakin surprisingly knew.

"So you only gave them enough fuel to reach the next filling station, on Orondia, which your brother owns?" Anakin repeated his words in confirmation. He tossed the species some republic credits in return for the information. "Well, that's a nice little money-making scam." Anakin chuckled, making the species laugh along with him.
"We'd better get going. Orondia's pretty deserted. They may steal a ship there to throw us off their trail." I commented. He turned around, grabbing onto my back with his hand. "I like your thinking." He replied, getting his hand to grip around my waist, pulling my body closer to his.

Around the corner of the gas station were Cad Bane and the rest of the bounty hunters boarding their ship. "Ani right there! It's Cad Bane." I placed my finger on the glass showing him the view. "Are you sure?" He asked, slowing down the ship a bit, so I had a better view. "Ugh, who else wears a hat like that." I raised my brow to Anakin, which made him smile. "Good point." He chuckled.
As their ship began to pick up some speed, so did ours. Anakin placed our ship in front of theirs. We followed their every movement, not letting them a chance to jump into hyperspace.
"Take over! I'll bring 'em down." Anakin huffed, jumping out from his chair and quickly running towards the back exit.
I placed the steering in my position, maintaining the same distance Anakin had. From my view, Ani had jumped off, landing on their ship while the notorious Cad Bane made his appearance. His large hat flapped in the wind as he quickly shot his blaster towards Anakin.
They were in a fully committed battle.
Whoever was driving the ship underneath ours was reckless. It swung in an attempt to either knock Bane to the ground or Anakin. So heavily focused on the two, I didn't see the bridge above, a trap they had placed in my way.
I lifted the ship in an unsteady way, "Ahh!" I yelled, dodging the bridge but not the impact I had made onto the ship below.
Both our ships caved into the ground. I groaned as my head had slammed itself onto the dashboard. "Uhh," I grunted, touching the side of my temples. I was fine, luckily, but my mind diverted itself onto Anakin. I unbuckled myself, quickly making my way out.
I was feet below them, so I began to climb a nearby facility. That was when my eyes landed on Anakin's blue saber. A wave of relief filled my body quickly, but it didn't last long. He was still fighting Bane, and this time Rako was involved.
I wandered my eyes on the edges of the mountain, seeing the best way to climb. I jumped onto the ground floor, beginning my way upwards. Every second, his lightsaber became quieter, and his grunts became silent. "No, Anakin," I whispered to myself. Reaching the top was easily done by the rush of fear and adrenaline.
My love for Anakin was my motivation; I forced a significant jump taking both my sabers out and igniting it. Landing myself on top of Anakin's body, I deflected each of Bane's blaster shots. My jaw was clenched as all bounty hunters viewed me with sore eyes.
"Ships still operational. I got it working. Now let's get out of here." One of the hunters said as he walked down from the ship. I still had my sabers ignited, my eyes staring coldly onto Bane without moving an inch.
"You're lucky we're in a hurry, Jedi. We'll have to dance another time." He spun his blaster into the pocket of his pants before tilting his obnoxiously large hat.
All three had walked back onto their ship, disappearing into the smoke. I panted, catching my breath quickly, looking down onto Anakin, who laid on the dirt with his eyes closed.
"Anakin." I kneeled, holding both sides of his cheeks with my hands. "Mm." He groaned slowly, opening his eyes. He was covered in dirt and dust. His hands cupped mine lowering them onto his chest as he tried to sit up but couldn't. "What is it? What's wrong?" I asked, concerned. He was acting a bit strange.
"That's why I felt a connection. Obi-Wan is still alive." My eyes popped wide open. "I-I-I don't understand." I blinked a few times, confused, trying to process everything that had just happened and this new connection Ani had felt.
"I don't either. But we're gonna get to the bottom of this, believe me." He smiled weakly. He was back, the light. I helped his weak body stand once again, giving my approval to lean his weight onto mine.
