《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 13: War Talk

The ship had finally arrived and landed in the docking area. We grabbed our luggage and headed to a bus that was awaiting our arrival. I looked around inspecting my surroundings. I have truly missed Naboo. Everything around was green and full of nature. There wasn't a single spec that was ugly.
I looked at my sister who seemed happy to be back. The bus came to a halt indicating we were at our stop. We grabbed our luggage one more time and made our way into the headquarters where the new queen of Naboo was.
"I wasn't the youngest queen ever elected, but now that I think back on it, I'm not sure I was old enough. I'm not sure I was ready." Padme says. We walked up the stairs with R2 following slowly behind. The poor droid had trouble getting up these stairs.
"The people you served thought you did a good job. I heard they even tried to amend the constitution so you could stay in office." I said, trying to cheer my sister up. Padme served as queen at a young age. She had many doubts she was even fit to be queen, but she always had the blood of a leader.
"I was relieved when my two terms were up. But when the queen asked me to serve as senator, I couldn't refuse her." Padme says. "I agree with her. I think the republic needs you. I'm glad that you chose to serve." I say back, making my sister smile and hold onto my arm. "Thank you, dear sister." She says.
*Time skip*
We were in a round room filled with the most important people of Naboo. Anakin and I stood behind Padme while she sat in a chair in front of us. The new queen of Naboo sat at her desk while guards surrounded the room. I did not miss this at all.

"If the Senate votes to create an army, I'm sure it's going to push us into a civil war," Padme says, making the man across from us upset. "It's unthinkable. There hasn't been a full-scale war since the formation of the republic," he says.
The idea that a war could be set in place was overwhelming. As much as I loved being in the arena, I was fearful of the ones I loved. I feared for those who didn't stand a chance against those who did.
"Do you see any way through negotiations to bring the separatists back into the republic?" The queen asked Padme. I sensed the fear she felt, she feared the life of her people. The same people who were once mine. "Not if they feel threatened. My guess is they'll turn to the Trade Federations or the Commerce Guilds for help." Padme answered back, grabbing the attention of the others.
"It's outrageous, but after four trials in the Supreme Court, Nute Gunray is still the viceroy of the Trade Federation. I feel the senate is powerless to resolve this crisis." the man said once again. "We must keep our faith in the republic." the Queen said standing up everyone following in her motion.
She made her way around the table, everyone following behind her. "The day we stop believing democracy can work is the day we lose it," she says walking beside Padme. "Let's pray that day never comes," Padme replied.
"In the meantime, we must consider your safety." The Queen says reverting her attention to Anakin and I. "What is your suggestion, Master Jedis." The man asked both Anakin and I.
Caught off guard, Padme slowed down her pace and looked at both of us. "Oh, y/n and Anakin are not Jedi yet. They're still a padawan learner. But I was thinking-" Padme began before I cut her off short.

"Hold on a minute-" I began before Padme cut the conversation short again. "Excuse me. I was thinking I would stay in the lake country. There are some places up there that are very isolated." Padme said. There was anger building up inside me again. My sister knew I had the capabilities to protect her, yet she didn't care to listen to Anakin and I's suggestions.
"Excuse me. Anakin and I are in charge of security here." I say placing my hands on my shoulders. Padme's face grew furious as the other stared between us. "And this is our home. I know it very well and much more than you do, y/n. That is why we're here. I think it would be wise if you took advantage of my knowledge in this instance." Padme says. She was right, although it frustrated me, she knew more about Naboo than I did.
I took a deep breath and nodded. "Sorry, dear sister," I said and smiled weakly. We began walking once again and went down a couple of stairs. "Perfect. It's settled, then." Queen Jamillia said.
I hung my head low defeated at the argument that happened. I felt a warm presence on my back. I looked up and found Anakin had placed his hand on my back swaying it back and forth. Quickly, the tension that had built up, relaxed. I looked at Anakin who smiled. He was just the comfort I needed.

Waking Up
The story of Larin the Builder in the aftermath of Awakening This short story is the epilogue of Awakening, the first book of the Chronicles of Mother's Gate series. This epilogue is a great follow-up to the novel, a bonus story that adds extra layers between books without being necessary to the main storyline.Waking Up follows the story of Larin, who is alive but unconscious after her ordeal in the Nine Hells. She awakens in A'lara City a few days later and recuperates under the steadfast care of her repentant friend Jorn.As she reacclimates to her waking state, Larin struggles with her gruesome memories of the Hells and her decision to conceal them from Jorn. This story answers the question, Is Larin all right? with a resounding yes, and some storms on the horizon. It also raises the question, What happened to her down there? and includes an excerpt from the sister story Falling Down, about Larin's ordeal in the Nine Hells. Praise for Waking Up and Falling Down: Loved it. The difference between the two stories is great! The difference between Waking Up and Falling Down is astounding. So much light and love in the first story. You feel safe reading it. Healing. The second, so much darkness, pain and despair. The choice of vocabulary is awesome and makes an impact. And this set of short stories ties the two books together so well.-- Dana V. of Texas ★★★★★

Helena's Plane
Paul, a bored young man, wakes up in a white room. A young woman tells him he has died, that she is some kind of god who likes videogames and he will be reborn in an RPG-esque world so she and her fellow god-friends can watch him for entertainment.Unfortunately, the goddess forgot to give Paul most of the obligatory, obvious cheat-abilities to make him rush to power in easy mode. Paul embraces his new life full of clichés, perverts, magic, loot and action. And animal girls.18+ !CONTAINS GRAPHIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL CONTENT! (Actual sex is still hard to find, but you will get it. Eventually. Sporadically.) =================Author's note:So, this is my very first novel. It will be poorly written, has a huge info-dump disguised as a first chapter (to be rewritten. At some point in the future. I guess.), and may or may not offend everyone for different reasons. Perhaps you will just find it boring, which would be even worse. The description turned out a bit comedic, but the story isn't overly so.I have a rough idea of where this will be going, but expect some bumps on the road, as well as logic holes, flat characters and a lot of borderline copyright infringements from all the ideas I got reading other works. And did I mention I'm not a native speaker? No? Well, expect some embarrassing grammar and wording choices. The main character is a more or less normal guy, without high morals, martial arts skills or even a desirable goal in life. There is mature content, in terms of violence and sexual content. It won't become a full-blown erotic novel, and it may or may not be your cup of tea when it comes to the type of content.Critics welcome.
