《Forbidden Love || Anakin x Reader》Chapter 12: Dreams

The sun faded into a hot pink that surrounded Coruscant. The time was here to finally grab our bags and leave. Anakin and I have been talking for the past hour detailing him about everything Naboo had to offer.
We made our way to a bus that would lead us to the docking station. Along with us was Padme's friend, Dorme, who was her closet aide and handmaiden. Dorme was upset at the fact that Padme had to leave the capital, but she understood this was the only way she would be safe.
I placed my luggage next to the entrance and sat next to the window alone. Padme sat next to Dorme, while Anakin sat with Master Kenobi. I didn't mind being alone. It gave me time to reflect and relax. The bus started to take off rumbling at first then quieting down.
The bus was filled with chatter, along with some quiet moments. From the corner of my eye, I see a little blue and white droid coming towards me. It was R2. I smiled which made him make noises. "It's nice to see you R2," I say and chuckled. At least I wasn't alone anymore.
*Time skip*
After a few minutes, the bus had finally landed. Our luggage was being moved out by helpers. I got up and stretched and noticed R2 had not left my side. I smiled. "We are almost there R2. Hang on a little more." I say making him respond with sad noises. Little droid must be exhausted hanging around Jedi all the time.
I lined and stood behind Typho making my way towards the exit. "Be safe, milady," Typho says. "Thank you, Captain. Take good care of Dorme. The threats on you two now." Padme says stopping and staring at Dorme who was now shedding some tears.
"He'll be safe with me," Dorme says, wiping some tears away. I felt bad. I felt the presence within her. I walked up to Dorme and gave her a quick hug.

"You'll be fine," I say pulling away and wiping some of the tears that have dropped onto her cheeks. "It's not me, milady," Dorme says. "I worry about Padme. What if they realize she's left the capital?" she slightly frowned.
"Well, then her Jedi protectors will have to prove how good they are," I say looking back at Anakin who was standing behind me. He smiled and nodded. Dorme nodded and gave Padme one last final hug.
I head over to help pick up the luggage when I overhear Anakin and Obi-wan talk. "Anakin," Obi-wan said, stopping Anakin from moving. "Don't do anything without first consulting either myself, y/n, or the council," he added.
Wow, Anakin hardly had any freedom. Before I left the temple, Windu dropped off a note wishing me luck on the mission. He added if anything were to be complicated, the force would be the answers and of course so would he. "Yes, Master" Anakin replied.
I placed the luggage outside and came back into the bus hugging Typho goodbye. "I'll get to the bottom of this plot quickly, milady. You'll be back here in no time." Obi-wan said. "I'll be most grateful for your speed, Master Jedi," Padme said, giving Obi-wan a side hug.
"It's time to go," Anakin said, before heading outside, Obi-wan stopped him. "Anakin, may the force be with you," he said and bowed. "May the force be with you, Master," Anakin replied walking outside now standing beside me and R2.
Padme walked out grabbing some luggage while Anakin and I did the same. Anakin and I walked beside each other, while R2 walked beside Padme a few feet in front of us. I looked back at Obi-wan who was standing beside Typho. My eyes locked onto Obi-wan, I furrowed my brows when he nodded and smiled. I came to the realization, Anakin and I were truly alone on this.
"Suddenly I'm afraid," I say, looking across my shoulder to find Anakin's face. "This is my first assignment on my own. I am too." He says looking over his shoulder and smiling. I was expecting him to have a long list of missions he's been on, but knowing it was his first as well, was comforting.

R2 looked back around and made sarcastic noises making the two of us laugh. "Don't worry. We have R2 with us." Anakin laughed and nudged my shoulder. "I'm sure he will take great care of us," I say nudging him back.
After walking for a couple of minutes, we finally arrived. The ship was taking off into the air. We made seats out of our luggage and even a table. There was silence between the three of us. My sister was more into her thoughts than any of us were. "If you don't mind, I'm starving. I'll be back, R2 will follow me." My sister said getting up heading to the serving area with R2 following behind her.
I sat in front of Anakin, the silence filling the space between us. "You look tired," Anakin said, breaking the silence. I looked up to see him staring at me. His eyes were a shade of dark blue, which must have been the way his new outfit made it look. He was no longer in his Jedi robes, but instead in formal wear with a white cloak on top.
"Not tired, just worried," I say. I looked at my sister who was now being served her food. Anakin followed my gaze. "She'll be okay. You'll be okay," he says. I placed my hands on the table forming a ball. "I know." I breathed out, I looked back to face him and smiled. "You look beautiful," he says, this time he didn't smirk, but instead gave a warming smile.
I was dressed in one of Padme's outfits she dropped off. The top was white and cut short, on the sides were long sleeves with black patterns on the end. Then finally, the bottom was a skirt that had gold embedded into it.
Before I can begin, Padme finally walked over to the table placing bowls of food in front of us. "I brought some for all of us. I know even Jedi get hungry, especially y/n," she says smiling and sitting in her chair. I looked down at the food, the smell quickly rammed up my nose making my stomach make noises. I didn't realize how hungry I truly was.
"Must be difficult, having sworn your life to the Jedi, not being able to visit the places you like or do the things you like," Padme says taking a bit into her food. "Or be with the people you love," Anakin said, I looked up from my food to see him staring at me.
"Are you allowed to love? I thought that was forbidden for a Jedi." Padme said. "Attachment is forbidden. Possession is forbidden. Compassion, as I would define as unconditional love, is central to a Jedi life." Anakin said, looking back and forth between Padme and me.
"So you might say that we are encouraged to love." He finished looking directly at me. I had to admit, he changed so much since I last saw him as a young boy. He was terrified as a child, fearful of everything. Now he stands before me with love in his heart and not hate.
"You've changed so much," I say without thinking. "Ah, you haven't changed a bit. You're exactly the way I remember you in my dreams." Anakin says. My eyes widened as the words spilled out of his mouth. I looked at my sister who was also startled. I quickly looked down hoping the tension that had formed would vanish quickly.
