You grabbed the last bit of dishes off of the table and walked back into the kitchen. You handed them to Sola, who was washing all of the dishes. Your mother was sorting and putting away the vegetables. Your father had invited Anakin for a walk in the garden as your mother asked you to stay and help clean up. You were a little worried about Anakin being alone with your father, because you knew he would make him very nervous. But he was more comfortable with everyone by the end of lunch and reassured you that he was okay. You glanced out and saw his dark blonde hair. Contentment was all you felt from your connection and you slightly smiled at the sight of your father and Anakin spending some time together.
"Why haven't you told us about him?" Sola suddenly asked as she looked over her shoulder at you. You were standing behind her as you took out a larger bowl for your mother to use. You walked over next to her and so happened to stand in front of the exact window you were looking at.
"What's there to talk about?" you asked. "He's just a boy."
"A boy??" Sola gasped. "Have you seen the way he looks at you?"
"Sola, stop it." you said sharply as you and Sola looked at each other. "You're sounding just like Padmé."
"Then it's completely obvious he has feelings for you! Especially if Padmé had noticed too!" Sola exclaimed excitedly. "Are you saying, little baby sister, that you haven't noticed?"
"I'm not your baby sister." you huffed, even though you were the baby of the family. You just didn't like it when Padmé and Sola called you baby sister in a teasing way.
"Anakin and I are friends..." you said as you looked out the window and saw your father and Anakin having a deep conversation outside. "Our relationship is strictly professional."

You looked over at your mother. "Mom, please tell her to stop."
"Well, maybe you haven't noticed the way he looks at you. I think you are afraid to." Sola laughed.
"Cut it out." you sighed in frustration.
"Sola's just concerned... we all are." your mother finally said.
"Oh, Mother," you said, "you're impossible. What I am doing is important."
"You've done your service, ____. It's time you had a life of your own. You're missing so much." Jobal tried to argue. You were her sweet little baby. Even if she didn't bring you into this galaxy, she loves you like her own. She knew of the risks and dangers you take as a Jedi and it worried her endlessly. Jobal knew your role as Jedi Senator was important, but that doesn't mean she didn't want you to have a normal life at some point.
"You know I am a Jedi and that it is forbidden for me to fall in love and get married like you both wish for me. My service is far from over and won't end until my last breath." you said gently to them. Sola and Mother gave you a sad smile before dropping the subject. They returned to what they were doing as you glanced one last time at Anakin and your father, wondering what they were talking about.

"Ah, I sometimes wish that I traveled more. But, uh, I must say, I'm very happy here." Ruwee said as him and Anakin walked peacefully through the garden. They were just having small talk, mostly Ruwee talking about his life to Anakin.
"___ tells me you teach at the university."' Anakin mentioned.
"Yeah, yeah. Before that, I was a builder." Ruwee explained. "I also worked for a freedom relief movement, but I was very young."
A comfortable silence took over before Ruwee spoke again. "I am very proud of ____. All of her hard work as a senator and a Jedi. Traveling the galaxy, far more that I ever did. It makes me incredibly proud to be her father."

Anakin smiled at Ruwee. He could tell Ruwee was truly proud of you. " She is amazing. ____ is a very skillful and fierce Jedi and a very passionate senator. Many have high respect for her." Anakin told him. Ruwee's smile widened before he looked over at some flowers blooming. He looked deep in thought.
"It seems like it was just yesterday when I found her on those palace steps. Just a small baby, not even a month old." Ruwee thought out loud. Anakin swiftly looked at him, surprised at his words.
"Found her?" Anakin asked, making sure he heard those words right.
"Yes." Ruwee answered quietly, realizing his small mistake. "___ is our adopted daughter. I was leaving a meeting one night at the palace and heard crying. I hurried over and I found her there on the steps. She was wrapped up in a small white blanket with the name ____ on it. I picked her up and looked around, to see if possibly her parents were around. But there was no one. ____ immediately calmed down when I held her and cooed happily. At that very moment, I knew she was my daughter."
Ruwee looked over at Anakin as they slowed their walking and he continued to speak. "I brought her home with me and woke up Jobal. She instantly loved ____ too. The following day we brought her to the hospital to see if there were any records of her and to check on her, to make sure nothing was wrong health wise. Then we went to the proper authorities to see if there was a missing baby reported, to see if anyone was looking for her. No one was and we did all the paperwork after that to officially make her ours."
"____ never told me this." Anakin replied quietly, taking in everything he has learned.
"She never liked or bothered telling anyone she is adopted. She always saw herself as one of Naberrie's daughters, through blood relation or not. She was proud to be a Naberrie and didn't let anyone say otherwise." Ruwee smiled fondly, recalling how you would correct anyone that called you the adopted daughter or anything else that wasn't Ruwee and Jobal Naberrie's daughter. "____ always said that it didn't matter where she came from or who her actual parents were, because she knows who she is."
Suddenly, Ruwee stopped to look at Anakin directly.
"Now tell me, son. How serious is this thing?" Ruwee asked seriously, changing the subject before Anakin could ask further questions. "How much danger is my daughter really in?"
"There have been three attempts on her life. Chances are there'll be more." Anakin answered carefully. "My Master and ____'s Master are tracking down the assassins. I'm sure they'll find out who they are. This situation won't last long."
"I don't want anything to happen to her." Ruwee said as Anakin looked at him. He had just as much concern as Ruwee had about you.
"I don't either." Anakin said as they both started walking again, your childhood house coming into view again. He saw you looking out at the window, concern on your face from feeling his confusion and surprise earlier. He gave you a reassuring smile as him and Ruwee made their way inside, Anakin noting to talk to you privately later.

8 189The Head That Wears The Crown
It's a tale as old as time. Boy goes to funeral. Boy gets sucked into a different world. Boy has to lead a settlement. Boy has to lead a settlement? Boy has to lead a settlement. This is a story about that settlement, and some other stuff. Maybe. Disclaimer: Not sure if it qualifies enough for a gore tag. There is a description of someone's death somewhere in this, but I don't think it is descriptive enough to justify a gore tag. Disclaimer part deux: I initially started writing this as background for another story but got so into it I just ended fleshing it out a bit. Disclaimer part tres: People love reading disclaimers don't they? It's why I've included so many. They're just for you. Disclaimer part four: I know, this is getting egregious. You're starting to find it less funny. Just wait till the twentieth disclaimer, it will start being funny again. Disclaimer part five: I'm kidding, this is the last one. I don't promise I'll read every comment or message, but I certainly welcome your feedback. Disclaimer part six: I lied, it wasn't the last one. I wrote this story without breaking it down into chapters. It just goes, that means that the chapter ends when it ends, not when there is a convenient break in the story. That means that it's very annoying for you as a reader since chapters can end mid sentence. Hah! Sucker! Disclaimer part seven: Get ready for slow updates. Who knows when this will continue. Toss it on read later and come back in fifty years. Disclaimer part eight: Cover Photo by Arthur Ogleznev on Unsplash
