By the time wednesday and Enid and gotten to the carnival it was already dark out. The only thing lighting up the next few miles was the carnival, everything else was illuminated by the moon
" It's so pretty outside" Enid says. They were waiting in line for cotton candy, enids favorite. Wednesday looked up and around at the sky
" I guess it is" she finally said. They went up to the vendor and ordered the cotton candy. Enid happy ate it. Wednesday stood beside Enid the entire time in her usual posture.
" Want some?" Enid asks, motioning to the cotton candy. Wednesday looked at the candy and at Enid. " Just try it" Enid says. Wednesday hesitantly grabbed a small piece and ate it.
" Not bad huh" Enid asked. Wednesday shrugged. " Weds you haven't said anything all night, cmon talk to me" Enid says grabbing a clump of the fluffy sugar and stuffing it in her mouth.
" Don't call me weds" Wednesday says as she began to walk away. Enid mumbled and followed after her date. " I thought it was cute" Enid said continuing to follow her date. Wednesday made a turn that led them out of the carnival.
Wednesday suddenly turned around to face Enid. " It's not " she said.
" why are you so mad" Enid asked shoving the last bit of cotton candy in her mouth. " Because you don't listen to me." Wednesday responded.
Enids face scrunched up. " well you're very demanding" Enid says " You have to be nice about it". Wednesday huffs and tries to walk away but is held back by Enid
" I was joking Wednesday, I'll stop calling you weds" Enid says.
" Finally" Wednesday said.
" You don't listen to me either" Enid says. She had already thrown the cotton candy cone away ( just to make that clear ).

" I don't have to" Wednesday replies.
"Neither do I, here we are" Enid says. " Let's go to the Ferris wheel" Enid says holding a hand out for Wednesday to grab.
Wednesday looked at enids hand in an odd way. " Okay that's mean, but you're my date. We can hold hands" Enid says. Wednesday sighed and grabbed enids hand.
The line for the Ferris wheel was long but Enid insisted on going on. Wednesday gave in once again. When they got on the ride, Wednesday was slightly angrier because of the people cutting and enids rambling.
" Wednesday?" Enid asked
"What."
" Can you stop squeezing my hand so hard" Enid asks in a polite tone. Wednesday had forgotten they were holding hands. The angrier wednesday got the tighter she held enids hand.
Wednesday lets go of enids hand completely. Enid leans on a rail and puts her hands in her pockets.
They awkwardly stood waiting in line. By the time they were able to get onto the ride, Wednesday was frustrated and tired. Enid couldn't be more happier.
As the Ferris wheel spun them slowly, Enid looked out at the sky and marveled at the stars. Wednesday looked at Enid.
Why didn't she say yes when she could? Fuck it.
"Enid" Wednesday spoke up. Enid turned her head to face Wednesday.
" I would like to be your partner." Wednesday says. Enids face lit up with shock and happiness.
" About time" Enid says, giggling and hugging Wednesday. Wednesday accepted the hug, she didn't hug back but accepting it was a good step.
