Me and my mom arrived to the Lockwood's to help get ready for the Masquerade ball tomorrow. I was walking around trying to find something to do but I feel a presence behind me which was Stefan.

"You told Damon you felt something bad was gonna happen, right?" Stefan asks and I nod. "Mason tried to get us killed yesterday. You were right."

"Wait, what?" I was shocked.

"How did you know?" Stefan asks and I shrug. I have absolutely no idea how I knew. "Come". Stefan says.

"Did Elena make you eat hover me or something?" I ask.

"Nope. You're gonna help me with this volunteer stuff cause I don't want to do this." Stefan says which makes me laugh.

"Hey Stefan." Mason walks by me and Stefan, smirking.

"Hi, Mason." Stefan replies.

"Wasn't expecting you here. Or anywhere." Mason says.

"Yeah, I had this little accident. But I'm fine now." Stefan says

"What did you do to sheriff Forbes?" Mason asks.

"Oh she's fine too. I wouldn't let her get hurt she's Caroline's mom, but how about you mind your own business for now on" I say, crossing my arms.

"Not a problem." Mason walks away and Stefan high fives me. But before either of us can say anything Bonnie bumps into Mason, and furrows her eyebrows.

"Bon, what did you see?" I ask.

"When i touched him, I saw something. I saw Elena. He was kissing her." Bonnie explains.

"That's not right she's doing Stefan." I say which makes me and Bonnie chuckle, and Stefan glare at me.

"No, bonnie, Elena wouldn't kiss..." Stefan stops talking for a second. He sighed. "You didn't see Elena, you saw Katherine."

Me and Stefan go to find Damon to tell him what we just found out.

"Katherine's with Mason Lockwood?" Damon asks.

"We kissed it. He got into town right after she did. It makes perfect sense." Stefan states.

"I know, but Mason Lockwood?! Werewolf thing aside, the guy's a surfer. She's gotta be using him. She has to be." Damon assures

"Using him for what?" Stefan asks.

"Mason Lockwood's looking for a moon stone that allegedly can break the full moon werewolf moon. Maybe Katherine wants it as well—"

"Wait is it a clear pink rock?" I ask and Damon turns his head towards me.

"How do you know about the rock?" Damon asks.

"Tyler showed me it and told me that Mason wants it for some reason. Asked if I've seen it when I lived there too and I did." I explain.

"And you didn't think to tell us?" Damon slightly shouts.

"I didn't think it was important. Who would want a stupid rock?" I shout back.

"Wait. Why would Katherine want this Moon Stone?" Stefan asks.

"Well... no idea. It's the beauty of Katherine. She's always up to something." Damon says.

"So how are we going to find this Moon Stone?" Stefan asks.

"Jeremy's getting it from Tyler." Damon says which makes me and Stefan both glare at Damon. "Come one guys, he came to me. It's the Gilbert stubbornness." Damon says which makes me and Stefan walk away.

Elena started spam texting me not having a clue on what's going on since she can't be by Stefan.

"What's happening Ash?" Elena asks.

"Bonnie had a vision of Mason and Katherine and he wants this Moon Stone. We need to know if Katherine has this stupid rock. Come on. Let's walk." I say

"So what are they doing now?" Elena asks.

"Bonnie is going to give Mason an aneurysm and Damon gonna knock him out. Then they are going to bring him back to the boarding house and get information out of him. They didn't want me being any part of it." I say

We keep talking about random stuff, but I get a text message from Bonnie, which said "the rock is in a well."

"What does she mean the rock is in a well?" Elena asks.

"I know where it is. It's by the old Lockwood property. Where we all use to play when we were kids." I tell Elena.

"Well, let's go." Elena says and I nod, agreeing with her.

We make it to the well and see Stefan. "You guys shouldn't be here."

"Yeah, sorry about that. I already caught Elena up on everything." I say which made Stefan annoyed. He goes down into the well and starts screaming.

"Elena! Ash!"

"Stefan?! Stefan, what's happening?" Elena shouts back. "What's going on in there?"

"Vervain!"

"There's chain, Lena." I say trying to pick them up, but we weren't strong enough.

"Elena!" Caroline runs toward us.

"Caroline, Stefan's down there. And the chain is rusted." Elena says and Caroline goes to jump in. "No, you can't. It's filled with vervain. Caroline we got to get him out."

"Care lift up the chains and secure me so I don't get stuck down there." I say.

"Ashley what are you doing?"

"Stefan's dying. I'll go down there and save him." I say as Elena nods.

Elena helps pit the chain around me and secure it and Caroline is holding on to the other side. "I got you Ash, ok."

"Yeah." I respond.

"What's going on?" Bonnie asks. "You just took off in a blur." Bonnie says.

"I heard Elena screaming. Help Ash, now." Caroline says and Bonnie helps me get into the well. "Im gonna start lowering you down now, ok?" Caroline says and I nod. They can all tell I'm scared to do this.

I get to the bottom of the well and see Stefan. I wrap the chain around Stefan. "Pull him up!" I shout and Caroline does so.

I look for the stone and I find a box, which I'm hoping has the stupid rock in it. As I pull it from under the water, I saw millions of snakes which makes me start screaming.

"Ash what's happening?" I hear Elena shout.

"Pull me up, pull me up, now!" I shout. "Now!" Caroline pulls me up and Bonnie helps me get out of the well. Elena was by Stefan who was up, not well, but up.

"What happened?" Elena asks.

"There were snakes." I say.

"Ash you're shaking. Here." Elena gives me her sweatshirt which doesn't help.

"That was very brave of you, Ash." Bonnie says and i smile.

I stopped at Caroline's to take a shower and get new clothes, then me and Elena. went home. My mom and Alaric were making dinner.

Elena was talking to Alaric while I made a plate. My mom walks over to me. "It's for you." She says handing me the phone.

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hello, Ashley." I hear Katherine and I immediately look at Alaric and Elena.

"Why are you calling me?" I ask.

"You're right. Elena's the one who has been with Stefan, especially this morning. Tell Elena that I will always know. I will always be one step ahead of you guys. Do you know how easy it was to get inside of your house? To replace your mom's vervain perfume, to convince her to stop drinking her special tea."

"No. Why are you doing this?" I ask, knowing she's up to something.

"Because someone has to pay for Elena and Stefan's secret. And I thought, I could make her cousin suffer by Your mom just—"

"Mom, no!" I shout dropping the phone, as she stabs herself with a knife. "Call 911!"

Me and Elena been at the hospital for hours, and the surgeon finally told us she's in recovery. I've been sitting in my mom's room for a while while Elena went outside.

"Do you remember how this happened?" I ask and she shakes her head. She dozed off and I look and Alaric and he nods knowing how all of this sucks.
