Short but important chapter
————
I did some extra research about my mother, allies, enemies, and heists she might have been apart of in the last few years.
Of course this research included very dangerous hands on investigation, but what else is new?
I finally had a plan. There was a cyber attack on some servers my mother owns, orchestrated by an organization known as 'Sinister' spooky.
To make it closer to my mother, and therefore finding my father, I had to infiltrate them and steal the info they stole from my mother.
It would be pretty simple if I knew how, to you know, hack. I don't, but I know someone who does.
My friend Vikki, we're know each other since we were kids. She lives a few hours away and the whole ordeal is gonna last a few days.
I don't want anyone to know why I'm gone, butI also don't want people to worry. Which everyone I know has been worried about me recently, whether they know I'm looking for my father or not.
So I told the group chat I was visiting my grandmother who lives in the same area. I swear I'll actually visit her though. Hopefully.
I packed some extra clothes, plus the gun and some other essentials. I also took it apon myself to snag my dads car. Sorry dad.
I took the keys that were hanging on the clothes rack and walked outside.
I stopped in my tracks when I saw Bakugo walking down the sidewalk.
I hope he doesn't try to convince me not to go. Because after everything that's happened I should trust him more than anyone.
Though I know I shouldn't trust anybody.
"Come to convince me to leave it to the authorities?" I asked, opening the passenger side door and tossing my bag down.

"Thought I'd at least fucking try." He called.
I rolled my eyes and swung the car door shut.
"Why?" I asked in a flat tone.
I crossed my arms in front of me as if he's wrong. This is dangerous and it is stupid. But I've gotten closer to finding my father than any cop or hero.
"Based on the message you sent to the group chat. You're gonna be gone for a bit, a lot of time for something to go wrong." He sighed.
I bit the inside of my cheek and waited for him to get to the point.
"You're just gonna leave, and if something happens no one knows where you are. I can't be the only person that has a bad feeling about this."
I could tell he was frustrated, but so so was I.
"I don't need you to lecture me on what I should and shouldn't fucking do, alright? I thought I made it very clear I can take care of myself." I reminded.
Bakugo didn't explode like I thought he would. He bit his tongue and thought before he spoke.
"You can take care of yourself when you're not biting off more than you can chew." He took a few steps closer. "Please don't."
There was a sense of shameless care in his voice. A tone I had never heard him use.
"You know what? No." I turned around and got into the drivers seat, I reached to turn the car on so I could roll up the windows and ignore any voice of reason sent my way.
"No?"
Yeah I pissed him off.
"I don't know why you give a shit anyway." I started the car.
"Cause you're being a fucking idiot!"
A part of me knew he had a point.
"I appreciate the concern, consider us even, and fuck off." I rolled up the window.
I expected Bakugo to yell some incoherent curses as I drove away but he didn't. Getting the last word wasn't as satisfying as I thought.
